    Consider this perspective, an ENTP won't usually argue with someone they already have little to no respect for. If an ENTP is debating you over seemingly nothing then they are reassuring themselves of their respect for you and the value of your ideas. It can also be a way of bonding with you by aligning to your perspective on a matter and grounding themselves from their flights of fancy.

      For ENTPs, the argument is separate from the person. You'll rarely hear an ENTP use an ad hominem in an argument, and it's not uncommon for them to go, "ooh, good point" when you refute their argument

    I'd add another thing: Not every ENTP is argumentative. ENTPs are first and foremost curious and open minded. They love exploring new ideas, which often involves taking the idea apart, asking questions and looking for contradictions. Not every ENTP however, is a "devil's advocate." They might prioritize learning over dissecting. Or they might just have a less combative communication style. This is probably why a lot of ENTP might test as ENFP; because they're not argumentative and don't fit the stereotype.

If you're lucky you know somebody who can draw? or creating music for children on UA-cam. Or create one hour videos about rainsounds or forest sounds XD. Work smart, not hard. I'm INFP and I stream together with my ENTP husband but luckily I love drawing and burn for our goals, so I create pretty much everything, the avatrs, new outfits, Emotes, artworks etc. and I also earn money while creating that stuff for others. I also want to gain a lot of money so we can have a positive impact on the world and change it for the better, that is my main goal behind it. A strong Fe ENTP here and ivd like to share my experience in regards of the points you mentioned :
    1. Argumentative
    It's true that for the most of my life i've been always argumentative and i confirm it's never been for malicious reasons it's always to gain more info or to play with other people, see i'm not a person who enjoys a night out, safari or even simple leisures such as dining out...I'm though the type of person to enjoy a good conversation about anything as long as you're willing to truly speak your mind and express your thoughts freely. That being said not many people are actually willing to do so and if they do most of them take things way too personally which is a trait i really hate which led to me being the least argumentative least judgmental in my circle. Honestly at this point i'm more of a people pleaser than ExFJ lol and lately i've been hating that so i became less talktive and less outgoing generally, some've noticed others haven't.... Yeah... I'm currently really disappointed in people around me which leads us to...
    2. Idealistic to the point of literally doing nothing
    You don't know how much i appreciate the way you explained this point so perfectly so thank you very much.
    I haven't really noticed that about myself untill recently with my friends that i'm too GREEDY! My expectations are too high and too idealistic eventhough i encourage others to be realistic all the time lol, i want to know, learn and do everything so quickly and so perfectly that i end up doing absolutely nothing. I'm never satisfied about anything my work my body my demeanor... Nothing! I really hope i'm in the exaggerated pathological stage and it's my problem not a general ENTP problem because it's really difficult and it's sad and in your words it's making me a "wasted potential"
    3. Empathetic
    We're really underrated in that department, remember when i said i'm a strong Fe ENTP, my Fe is so strong that i notice stuff before my xxFJs friends and tbh i hate it, maybe because i'm in unhealthy loop and i can't use my Fe properly but i do care a lot if people don't give me the same treatment i give them back and i do care a lot about random people around and it's annoying because if i don't act nicely i feel like i'm satan himself... Again i hope it's a "me" problem not an ENTP thing

    • @DalbirChana
      @DalbirChana 11 місяців тому +5

      As a strong ENTP(42, M), I think I would say that for those with high ideals and perfectionist tendencies, it's essential to pose a few reflective questions to oneself:
      1. Does it truly matter? Would your future self, five years from now, care as deeply as you currently do?
      2. If it does matter, why does it hold such significance? Here, I'd echo Feynman's cautionary advice: "The first principle is that you must not fool yourself - and you are the easiest person to fool."
      Furthermore, it's beneficial to embrace the mindset that "it's about progress, not perfection." Also, remember that "whatever you place on a pedestal will own you." I find this last one to be a useful reminder to back off and re-evaluate the situation, and ask myself 'what do I want' rather than be led by natural ENTP furiously curious traits.

Yes, it does add some information, but it's as if i'd say my MBTI, Big 5 and Enneagram types (which would be even more accurate). The issue with the "5th" letter is, that 16personalities is mixing up MBTI with the Big 5 (Big 5 is simply 1000x easier to make an accurate test for), while the latter considers 5 independent scales and the former is built up through an ordered function stack (and thus having 2 intertwined/dependent components, 1st the functions present in the stack and 2nd the order of these functions), thus varying hugely in how they work. It's as if you finish a book summary with the weather outside the window while you read the book. Yes, it's additional information, but it has not much to do with the subject

I have absolutely no problem with playing devil's advocate, but ENTPs all too often play it so much that they end up actually advocating for the devil. Also, as an ENTP, there are definitely times where I've argued something I genuinely believe in and when my friend has a very different view on it, it grates against me and makes me almost irritated with them - so I get in a way kinda stopping being friends with someone if their views are very morally questionable!

Most people are considered kind if they say a nice word while you're headed for disaster. Also, they don't really argue in the sense most people would think, because they are not attached to any particular stance. You agreeing with them doesn't change how they like you.
