We purchased the 300XM gimbal from B&H along with the GimBoom and Gim-Pod legs. I've shot some with the set-up and practiced with it a lot. I love it. It's a solid gimbal that does tons of stuff besides stabilize your video. Here comes the big BUT... If your camera is not one of those fully supported by the gimbal, you cannot do electronic focus with the wheel on the side. No problem you might say, I'll just get a follow-focus motor and use that. NOPE! We purchased the Manfrotto MVGFF motor and, as of this writing, Manfrotto now says that motor will NOT work with the 300XM! Crazy right. On top of that, the rod support that comes with the MVGFF is well under 15mm so, I cannot attach any other follow-focus motor to it. We seriously debated sending this gimbal back to get a different one. However, it works so well with the GimBoom , and we love using that tool, it makes for great, dynamic shots, so we're going to keep the 300XM and hope for a firmware update from Manfrotto to make the MVGFF work or even a new motor which Manfrotto says they may be creating in the near future. Hope this helps you decide if you are thinking about getting this. B&H has been extremely supportive on the focus issue and done all they could to help us. Thanks B&H.
it is a very interesting line that offers some more tools than its competitors: first of all a growing ecosystem. The gimbal is of the first generation but it already looks like a mature product: however, I have not had the opportunity to try it to see how well and smoothly it responds. I own the gimboom that I am thrilled with: truly excellent
I'll wait for second gen. Nice to see some additional diversity in the market, though. Probably made in the same Chinese factory, but oh well. Still counts.
Would a Canon 1D mark IV be compatible with this gimbal? I’ve been looking for a good gimbal but I’m not sure where to start because I know that the 1D mark IV is a bit on the older side and I can’t find any resources online that help. Could you recommend any good gimbal models or brands ? Much appreciated!
The Canon EOS-1D Mark IV weighs in at about approximately 1180 g / 41.6 oz. The Manfrotto MVG300XM Modular Gimbal BH #MAMVG300XM will support up to about 7.5 lbs. >Mark
Hi I've got a 300X gimbal with a Canon 5D mark IV and Canon 24 - 70mm lens but cannot get it to connect with the USB-C to micro b USB cable to be able to turn video recording on even on the camera. Can anyone advise please? Also has anyone had better comptibility with different firmware upgrades? Your videos are so helpful. Thanks.
According to the Manfrotto compatibility chart, under Canon 5D Mark IV you have to switch photo / video mode on camera manually. If you still need assistance reach out to one of our experts. Please email ask@bhphoto.com or call 800.606.6969
@@BandH Thank you for responding. Hadn't realised the AO3 cable only plugs into part of the input the camera (looked like an micro B which I'd tried instead) so now resolved that it works.
En realidad exelente gimbal, pero me vino con fallas y al no usarlo mucho se termino malogrando, no carga la parte superior, escribi a manfroto por todos los medios y no he tenido respuesta, lento y mal servicio pos venta.
It's technically not compatible with the S5II. But if it's under the weight limit you can still mount the camera on the gimbal, you just won't have camera control from the handle.
What do you think of the Manfrotto MOVE System?

It would also be excellent if the moving head could be attached to a motorized slider!

If American workers didn't overcharge, they would be built in America daaaa.
Does the detachable remote support Gyroscope Motion Control? And how far can the remote be operated away from the gimbal?
The remote control has a six-foot range with the Manfrotto MVG300XM Gimbal.

No, el gimbal modular Manfrotto MVG300XM no es compatible con la Nikon Z9
Can I use the gimbal with a camera, which ist not compatibile ?
As long as it is under the weight limit, yes. You just won't have the camera control from the gimbal handle.
Acabo de comprar este producto en DealZone por solo $199 usd.
Lo espero con ansias !!!
¡Esperamos que lo disfrutes!
Is this MVG300XM compatible with the Nikon D500?
According to the reference chart, the Nikon D500 is not compatible with the MVG300XM gimbal.
Can you use the GimBoom with a different gimbal?
yeah that possible, it can be used with a gimbal with a 1/4"-20 or 3/8"-16 mounting hole.
En realidad exelente gimbal, pero me vino con fallas y al no usarlo mucho se termino malogrando, no carga la parte superior, escribi a manfroto por todos los medios y no he tenido respuesta, lento y mal servicio pos venta.

@BandH okay, thank you for the quick reply. Good to know!
Anyone else reckon DJI have made manfrottos gimbal for them?
Waaaaaay too many similarities LOL.
Looks good!
It looks very similar to the Feiyu-tech Scorp Pro to me.
I thought the same
its a Feiutech gimbal
