Hello there :) Have you ever had the impression that the dynamics of the game has its own charm without DLSS RR? Has it ever happened that with default parameters, the game does not lose its zest? @@Rostovgenchik I play most games vanilla only for that reason and not use mods but here we are only cleaning noise and making reflections cleaner, this is fine in my opinion.
Sorry to bother you, but could you make a comparison between preset A and E? I read that because of the E preset, there may be more load on the hardware, frame time jumps. @@msnehamukherjee yeah game like this frame generation would be great. So far only fsr frame generation is working but with fsr upscaling, which is not worth it.
@@S2GamesBench Yeah. Listen I just came across this application from Steam forums suggesting to use Optiscaler to inject Frame gen while using DLSS. Do you know anything about it?
Not worth it because of the performance drop, besides the lighting can look temporal even without raytracing off so, meh :/ Heard this game runs better on DirectX 11 overall, just add "-dx11" as a launch command and less stutters
Actually on 2nd thought, it mostly entirely depends on how your PC runs DX11 and DX12 For my system, most UE5 games (including this game and Fortnite) will have more FPS on DX11 but is prone to sharp stutters. Other way around for DX12 where there's slightly less FPS, but stutters are more mild and therefore more tolerable. Not all PCs are the same so not everyone will have the same experience, there may be cards that run this game worse on DX12, and better on DX11 There's also Vulkan via DXVK mods but I hear that's prone to crashing for now, so can't comment on that
looks like dlss 3.7.2 with Preset E and Auto Exposure turned on is way to go RR is just tanking the fps and it's not completly stable I wouldn't use it for not losing fps I'm thinking about play this game a few days later and I'll pick 1440p DLSS Quality E Preset and Auto Exposure on with maxed out settins

Any Frame Gen mod? This games needs it.
@@WheeledHamster yes
How to mod FSR 3.1 Frame Gen in Silent Hill 2
1. Go to www.nexusmods.com/site/mods/738?tab=files
2. Scroll down to 1st option - dlssg-to-fsr3-ver and then download the same.
3. Extract and run DisableNvidiaSignatureChecks and select yes on all permissions.
4. Make sure Hardware-accelerated GPU scheduling is enabled in windows settings (Settings - Home - Display - Graphics - Default graphic settings)
5. Go to www.nexusmods.com/site/mods/738?tab=files
6. Scroll down to 3rd option - dlssg-to-fsr3-ver (Universal) and then download the same.
7. Extract and open folder - dll version
8. Copy 2 files, dlssg_to_fsr3_amd_is_better and version dll
And paste them in same folder that has game exe files
For Silent Hill 2 this will be
Game Folder - SHProto - Binaries - Win64
This folder will have 135MB exe file, paste the 2 files you copied earlier over here
9. Launch the game
If fps is above screen refresh rate then you can enable vsync in nvidia settings to avoid screen tearing.
If all was done correctly frame gen option will be available to be selected
There will also be dlssg_to_fsr3 log file in same folder where you copied mod files if mod worked.
Steps 1-4 need not be repeated in future when you are trying to mod a new game
Troubleshooting Tips
1. If mod doesn't work you can try mod from other folders too (dbghelp, winhttp, asi loader, red4ext). Another version of mod files are in step 1 download too. Try all one by one, any of them might work.
2. You can also try older version instead but fsr fg 3.1 is only available in version 0.100
3. Mod may be incompatible with any other mod you are using in game especially DLSS related mods, make first attempt to mod in a vanilla game
4. If your first attempt to mod was unsuccessful and now you are trying a different older version of mod then do run DisableNvidiaSignatureChecks again as issue may have been with editing registry
5. If game you are playing is on epic then you need to disable epic overlay
Thanks i did that too,the quality is great but fps tanks hard....
Does this work after last patch? And with visual fixes of Sammilucia on nexus mods? Cause I started the game and applied the mod and i don't get reflections at all like in water instead of detailed trees and branches I get some black shapes, it's not a real reflection... Can someone help sorting this out?
@@miklaus2873 RR still works after patch, if you are getting black shapes it is because ray tracing is off in graphic settings, keep ray tracing on
@S2GamesBench it's on and dlss is on, can I send you a screenshot of how I see reflection? Maybe it's just me that can't understand if it's working or not
@miklaus2873 may be your other mod is conflicting with it, try RR with no other mods installed. black shapes instead of reflections like you mentioned should only happen when RT is off.
Is this resolution related to? I haven't noticed the crawling noise playing 4k dlls quality (E) 4090. E helped with the ghosting. I have TAA off.

How do I change DLSS presets?
@@DerKrazyKrautGaming How to use DLSS Tweaks mod to change preset
1. Go to www.nexusmods.com/site/mods/550?tab=files
2. Select Manual Download
3. After downloading, extract and you will find 6 files
4. Run EnableNvidiaSigOverride reg file and confirm (This step is only required once, you don't need to repeat this when modding new game)
5. Now copy 3 files - nvngx dll, dlsstweaks ini, DLSSTweaksConfig exe
6. Go to game folder and paste these files in same folder that has game exe files
(This will be Game folder - SHProto - Binaries - Win64)
7. Open DLSSTweaksConfig exe
8. Scroll down to 3rd section - DLSSPresets
9. Use pull down menu to change default to whichever preset you intend to use. Do it for every quality level you intend to use and hit save at top
That is it, all done
Game should be closed when you change values
If mod worked you will see dlsstweaks log file in same folder where you copied these files (after you play the game at least once)
You can also run DisableNvidiaSigOverride to reverse the effects of step 4 if you don't want to use the mod anymore.

@@S2GamesBench Amazing Thanks so much!
I don't know much but RR should save you performance rather than decrease it as it was in case of Cyber punk.

Hmm would this work on other games ?
Hello there :) Have you ever had the impression that the dynamics of the game has its own charm without DLSS RR? Has it ever happened that with default parameters, the game does not lose its zest? There are no questions about DLSS at all , it 's better with 3.7.20 , but it's better with reconstruction , because we turn off some denoizers. Are we sure we don't touch any Lumen effects?
@@Rostovgenchik I play most games vanilla only for that reason and not use mods but here we are only cleaning noise and making reflections cleaner, this is fine in my opinion.
@@S2GamesBench OK, thanks for the answer :)
Doesn't work for me for whatever reason
Sorry to bother you, but could you make a comparison between preset A and E? I read that because of the E preset, there may be more load on the hardware, frame time jumps. And the A preset is more balanced (low noise, low particle trails). I haven't tried it myself, but in comparison it would be interesting to see. If there is no opportunity and time (which is natural), then it's okay :)

Heard this game runs better on DirectX 11 overall, just add "-dx11" as a launch command and less stutters
Actually on 2nd thought, it mostly entirely depends on how your PC runs DX11 and DX12
For my system, most UE5 games (including this game and Fortnite) will have more FPS on DX11 but is prone to sharp stutters. Other way around for DX12 where there's slightly less FPS, but stutters are more mild and therefore more tolerable.
Not all PCs are the same so not everyone will have the same experience, there may be cards that run this game worse on DX12, and better on DX11
There's also Vulkan via DXVK mods but I hear that's prone to crashing for now, so can't comment on that
For me it's not working, james face, everyone looks badly denoised on their skin
looks like dlss 3.7.2 with Preset E and Auto Exposure turned on is way to go RR is just tanking the fps and it's not completly stable I wouldn't use it for not losing fps I'm thinking about play this game a few days later and I'll pick 1440p DLSS Quality E Preset and Auto Exposure on with maxed out settins
Preset C is always best
@@teddyholiday8038 I don't like it I can pick F because it has most stable anti aliasing but E has more detail but never considered C as a option I'm curious though what is the benefits of Preset C
There's no point in RR in a game with fully overcast lighting 70% of the time, it's a very easy setup to get right through rasterization
In dynamics, it will be hardly noticeable or not noticeable at all.
