The same way a man can cheat, women can too. The same way that mom was dead wrong for doing what she did, there are fathers who have done equally as terrible things.
But more importantly, don't forget that just because these people exist it doesn't erase or outweigh the fact that there are also good people who exist that would never take part in such actions. Don't let the negativity get to you. As much as it is discouraging to see how careless people can be regarding the things they do, especially when it directly impacts others, it's also a reminder that the exact opposite exists in yourself and those in your life. Keep your head up!!! 😊
Reminds me of when my dad cheated not long ago. We found out that my youngest adopted sister was heavily pushing my dad to cheat and leave my amazing stepmum. Shes done everything for us and the family and does everything for my dad.

My worst time being cheated on, I was dating a girl for over a year and was tipped off by a female friend that knew my at the time gf, she told me my girl was talking to her ex and planning to meet up when I was out of town (9 at night, had a flight at 5 am the next morning) so I called the guy (I knew him, he was a punk) and told him I knew what was up and if he showed me the texts I wouldn’t kick his teeth down his throat, for whatever reason he was terrified of me. We met up and he shows me the texts with his hands shaking like a Parkinson’s patient, I looked him in the eye and called him a bitch, said you want her cheating ass you can have her and I left, called her and gave her a chance to confess and she lied, imagine her surprise when she found out HE showed me the texts, I respected him for manning up but I still wanted to kick his ass. Broke up with her and flew to New Orleans the next morning, was out til midnight investigating that bullshit.

I believe that many couples are emotionally underdeveloped, have far too little life experience, don't want to take personal responsibility, and live in a lie themselves etc ... i.g. lack of conscientiousness.
Cheating in a committed relationship is not just lying, it is a serious emotional injury, maximum disrespect and a sign of contempt. Lying turns the entire relationship story into an illusion and thus into a fairy tale.
Every relationship that was entered into with serious expressions of love and ends in betrayal leaves the betrayed person traumatized. This can be healed, but it will never be forgotten.
Cheating and lying in your relationship is toxic and destructive ... Nothing good can grow from this for yourself.
Writing such a life story is only sad and can make life very difficult if you don't draw any consequences from it. Honesty is the foundation and is essential in any relationship.
Of course, everyone is allowed to pursue every dream, every idea and perhaps someone will find someone who has the same ideas, then everything is clear and no one has to lie to the other. Not only is it easier, you also have every opportunity to work on yourself.

That and I think most people are from broken homes and they have no idea how to make a relationship work. My parents and my husband's parents were both married longer than 50 years. We've been married coming up on 28 years. Our parents modeled the behavior that we now live. Very few take the lesson of their parent's failed marriage and decide to do something different. It's exceedingly rare to see long marriages come from young relationships. It takes seven years for a marriage to hit it's stride. The point where you just accept your partner, faults and all. We even struggled for a short while before it clicked into place. If these people are testing their partners, it's because somewhere in the back of their minds, they already know they're cheating. Find the proof, pack your shit, and get out. The drama just isn't necessary.

When men cheat it's because their wives and girlfriends aren't holding up their end of the sexual bargain. Men need intimacy far more than women do. Men are far more romantic. I had an ex gf that was a good friend to me. When I met my now wife, I told her even before we got together and started dating, then I arranged for them to meet. This way everyone new each other. Just to allow my wife to build up trust. In the end that friendship did fade away but my wife and I still are happy together.
