- In this video, I talk about my experience with furry con security at various conventions. Most of my experiences are good and positive, but one or two times, they were not. I have mad respect for those who work for security at cons, and I appreciate what they do. So, those of you who are con security, thank you for helping keep furry cons safe!

Rule # 1 of men’s restroom - Never have a conversation or have eye contact with a stranger while using the urinals.
And keep a empty urinal between you and the other person. The only time you don’t follow that part is when the bathroom is crowded
As a con staffer - i'm actually concerned about that first "hiding in the panel room issue" - like - i would have liked them to get more info and make a record of the event. that's how we can confront and remove bad behavior like that "following into the bathroom" thing
By "them" I mean the staffer who found you in the room**
That’s good that the security there is polite about things most of the time. Kinda of like airplane board security but it’s not.

Talking with so many channels and making friends has very much improved my mental health so it’s cool to hear this! Like I’m super shy and am bad at making friends, but learning about furries had been such a positive experience.

Usually, con security are a nice bunch, even though their job is really difficult. I'm surprised how one certain security staff said you're causing a fire hazard, but how? All you did was you hugged one person, and that's considered "dangerous." Hopefully you don't go through something like that again, and as always, great video! Much love!

It sounds like he didn't even give him a reason why he was a fire hazard. And making him wait outside in the heat was just cruel

I seriously hope that whoever this person was is never convention security again and is blacklisted from working as security at other conventions.
I’ve been in that situation where I’ve encountered someone who feels that just because they’re con security they feel they have the right and power to talk to people and treat people in a way that they please. It’s never something pleasant to experience.
Thankfully I’m very close with a lot of convention security in the UK, so I always have them to turn to if I’m ever left shaken.

I remember when I was laying on the ground trying to be cute in fursuit, security had rushed to my side to see if I was alright. He thought I was suffering from dehydration! 😅 so I agree, Con Security is important!

Did security at that con somehow not know that people in animal like outfits were the con? I cant imagine any world where you attend a con in a convention space and are required to stand outside of the thing that you have paid to attend. If standing or traversing in any part of the convention (usually a hotel so you have to go from rooms to con) is a fire hazard than they should not be advertising the space as a convention rental. People stand in conventions. People exist at cons lol

I would go to cons but I haven't finished my suit. Sadly because I like to try use tech and I have alot of cosplays that use the same displays for the eyes and stuff I thought I would use them in my suit(because I'm a well known fire hazard and I wanted to make a normal suit and a complex one)... only problem is I never orderd 2 of the pannles and only have one that's missing the controller. So my suit is probably about another 2 months away at least

Im a new in the furryfandom and i will start with drawing. What do you think when im drawing fursonas in a ww2 setting. Would anyone like it.
I ask you because i dont know how other furrys will react when im drawing fursonas in tanks or fighter planes. Im really inerrested about ww2.
It's okay to have multiple interests, you don't have to meld the two. I suppose that comes down to if they're in actual combat. Maybe draw them in the context of it being historical like a museum not during the actual war. War, death and politics goes against what most would want to see.
I think that would be cool, just warning you now though there is a certain bad branch of furrys that associate with what the German military was called at that time so be careful what you draw

I have worked several conventions. Anime furry Pony conventions. Anyways some of them are run great some of them are run not so great. With the bathroom incident I'm wondering why you guys didn't go to security. I also kind of questioning why the security Personnel did not ask more questions about the situation and then the convention could take care of the individual. But like I said some of the conventions are run great some of the ones are run not so great. An example of one convention I worked that I will give it credit it lasted longer than I thought it was going to. But this convention I worked at i started Friday at 8 a.m. And my shift did not end until Saturday at 2 am. And then six hours of sleep started again at 8 a.m. Saturday. Hilariously enough my shift ended prematurely at 10 p.m. Because lots of issues with Staffing.

I usually have a run in with con staff at every con I attend, but that's because it's a force of habit for me. For work and daily life I usually wear a knife on my hip and here in Texas it's legal to do it just about anywhere so it never crosses my mind at con to take it off since it's part of my daily life. Con staff have always been cool about it and just have me go put it in my room
The furry con I went to, furry weekend atlanta allowed knives up to five inches, meanwhile anime weekend atlanta had a no weapons rule.

@@catchemcurs2097 Sad. At least there was armed security(police or otherwise) at both cons. I'm not fond of any situation where you are not allowed to have weapons to defend yourself, especially when no one else is defending you either.

Well yes it's important about security because they just want to keep people safe and to obey the rules like when I. Go to school or event there's is always security keeping precaution to make sure if they are people being too wired, wild or dangerous then they get kick out or get arrested.

Being a firehazard comes down to crowd size. There are limits to the amount of people per room and most likely this particular one was already over the max and they were struggling to get people to migrate.
If you take a case with you, you can de-suit and they won't be able to tell it's you.

The latest con I've been to, I was pushed away by a man from behind while I was trying to get through the crowd of fursuiters. That was the worst that happened to me and rude much.
Why did the guard tell you to get out
My assumption would be that someone was angry at Majira for whatever reason and framed him for doing something bad and the guard didn’t decide to question him on it and just thought the worst and kicked him out

I'm a security officer myself I would never ever put anyone through the situation you went through I swear people like that con security officer should never be allowed to work in security. If this happened to me I'd go straight to con ops and demand that officer fired because as a security officer you cannot treat someone like that. My company says you have to be respectful and professional at all times this person didn't sound professional. It's sad security officers like this con security member get so worked up. You were wearing a fursuit which is completely normal at a con. I don't get furry haters sometime I swear. In the end I still have respect for con security

Yep 10 years in security so first Tell the furry human in a hard tone to back off, thus making a seen then security can help. Next if you are been yeah what ever IS NOT GOOD enough. Reported it. Last do not enter a place you are not meant to be. You furry need a lot of help in security, planing observation. After the new year i am going to make a few videos about security for Furry i have seen a few you do that are alarming!
