This kind of chemistry only works if they are both genuinely nice people with talent and absolutely no egos. And of course mutual respect. I’m not surprised that this is hilarious.
The duet was real. His voice is luscious, and the Dame Edna’s was softly shy and as if Barry was crossing his own fourth wall…..he has Dame Edna meaningfully say….I love you.
Simple music can make you sing simple hug can make you feel better simple things can make you happy, i hope my simple Hello brings smile to your face,.,,

so glad to tell you ALL will is going 2 b in caberet in the autuimn about time he got a part in a musical with his voice at last he deserves it iam so happy 4 him ggod luck willx
This clip demonstrates what I love about Barry Humphries. Although he was always the funniest person in the room, he always set up gags for other guests and left them room to be funny as well, true professional, comedy genius.
Will would be perfect in a musical of the old-fashioned kind. His voice would suit that so well. This little duet, even though it was just jokey, showed off Will's musical voice perfectly.
Actually, he was in the movie "Mrs. Henderson Presents". If you have not seen it, please rent or buy it. Takes place during WW1. Dame Judi Dench is the lead.
Simple music can make you sing simple hug can make you feel better simple things can make you happy, i hope my simple Hello brings smile to your face,.,,
for those saying dame edna is a drag queen, wow, YOU ARE COMPLETELY WRONG. THIS IS NOT A DRAG ACT. Edna is a character the actor Humphries plays. its a persona.
something Barry has been doing for 50 years also, Edna is his mum & Les is his dad & each role is feminine & masculine in equal amounts. Edna never says anything butch & Les never says anything girly.
Note: Dame Edna asked Will about his album name. They got off topic but he was subtle enough to help bring it back to "Will". He's / she's a genius. The use of language, no swearing but manages to insult all guests on any show... Go and watch and various Parkinson Interviews....He even managed to drag in Robin Williams in an interview who tried his usual coke inspired skits!
by now after 11 years will sold MORE than 8 million i should think cos hes done so well and has so many fans this show is so funny between these 2 haha i think dame edna must be deaf thank you for this x
Simple music can make you sing simple hug can make you feel better simple things can make you happy, i hope my simple Hello brings smile to your face,.,,
OH COMEON. WILL GOT PLENTY OF AIR TIME. DAME EDNA SAW TO THAT FOR SURE!!!! AND BY THE WAY DAME EDNA IS AND I AGREE NOT A DRAG QUEEN SHE IS AND ALWAYS WILL BE COMIC. AT THE VERY TOP OF HER GAME HERE 👑👑👑👑👑👑👑👑👑👑👑. JOANN LAMONICA ONEONTA NEW YORK
the funniest rob brydon this series, and probably both series. Dame Edna and Will seem to bounce off each other well. Rob was a bit redundant. One or two obviously scripted lines/retorts but well delivered. One of the funniest shows this year.
In the early 2000 Dame Edna used to come to Washington DC , the gay area DuPont circle and she was splendid very down to earth said hi to all of us! Her driver was gorgeous lol in a black Mercedes Benz
one up for will ha ha this was so funny ha ha best rob brydon show of allnad im loving wills album echoes mythras90xsp will should do a duet with a female singer in the future mythras90x
For the uninitiated and most of all, unsophisticated: Humphries was “in drag” but not a “drag queen.” He was a cisgender male doing pantomime - in the very English “Shakespearean” style - but reimagined and recovered using 1920s and 30s surrealist and Dadaist principles portraying various characters and lampooning 1950s and mid century social mores, prejudices and narrow mindedness. To call him a “drag queen” inserts him into a style of postmodern performativity which became popularised as “drag” much later on (mainly in the 1970s through to the 1990s) and which reduces and narrows his genius in ways which is too culturally restrictive and historically quite inaccurate. There is something transcendent about Edna in particular, which is akin to great comedy (in the dramatic sense) and to the performance art of Mae West and the Dadaists. Like great drag queens she can be brutally honest and has zero filter. But unlike them, she is always triumphant because underneath the facade, we the audience know that her hetero-channeller Humphries can land on the safe, silky cushions of heteronormativity. Somehow the danger isn’t quite the same. Edna is always “a triumph” and the art form sails off into the distance very unlike uncertain drag performers who mince on less firm theatrical floorboards. At the very least, a great drag queen is still this big fat poof pretending to be a nasty woman, but somehow Edna was beyond all of that and definitely larger than her shrinking, smirking, uneasy, queerly straight channel Humphries. She transcends him and separates out from him before our very eyes. We forget they’re the same entity. Edna is therefore part pantomime, part magic act, part comedy and even and especially part tragedy. Why tragedy? Because Edna Everage is both kind of a bitch, and also a kind bitch. She kills you with kindness before your very eyes and is a cruel but sweet neighbour, a nasty but nice mother, a suburban overdressed terror in paste jewellery and too much makeup, a vile perfumed frenemy and in fact a huge human failure. Where people get confused is that what she shares with “drag acts” is that the brutally immodest, butch-femme persona of Edna is always triumphant because, like all drag, she cannot fail. There is no such thing as failed drag as even “bad” drag is good and like them, Edna never fails. As Mae West (who is Edna’s artistic ancestor) once quipped: “when I’m good I’m good but when I’m bad, I’m better!” She is neither “dragging” nor a “queen” and yet she comes at us with some of the weapons of “drag”: she is offensive but without any of the defensive qualities of camp. Historical Drag was a political act which had to defend its position through dressing up and acting out. Edna didn’t. Humphries did it for the auto-erotic pleasure of artifice, lampooning society and her channel (Barry) as she steamrolled by. But a drag act, she wasn’t.
Simple music can make you sing simple hug can make you feel better simple things can make you happy, i hope my simple Hello brings smile to your face,.,,
@paulidol9 I should have added that the recorded version wasn't as good as his audition version. It was produced completely different. Just enjoy listening to it on youtube.
i dont like it when they try to be in on the joke with Dame Edna. just carry on as normal and take what's coming to you. laughter ensues. subversion has no friends. oh and a really great scalp of hers is craig ferguson or something in usa. _tore _him_ _apart_ :) a master of format. genius, really. sorta unparalleled in the performing arts. 60 years, is it? of a contiguous (dont reely know what that word meens) spontaneous adlib talkshow host actress as herself in ally mcbeal playing a parody of an actor acting an actress acted by an actor acting an actors actor, no. gameshow hostess,authoress...andthenmyheadjustgoesblam!
She is just magnificent, I love how so many stars just let her be her and love her for it, just fantastic.
Dame Edna basically takes over any show she is on. A legend.
Haha. Bossy bitch... It's so good
😂 always
Magical. Loved this. Good for Will too, he really rose to the formidable presence that is Dame Edna. Great stuff!
I love how she brought it back to his album. True grace.
Will and Edna were surprisingly comedy gold as a duo- loved this!!
Not really
My mom used to watch Dame Edna when I was young. Mom's gone now, but watching these brings back good memories.
Simple music can make you sing simple hug can make you feel better simple things can make you happy, i hope my simple Hello brings smile to your face,.,,
Barry will be sadly missed.....genuine magnificent talented bloke.
❤❤
Dame Edna is brilliant, hilarious and makes me laugh out loud.
Me tooo
brilliant combination - tears of laughter running down my face!!! what a bright spot in these troubled times...
"I don't know who to talk too!" Such is ANY interview when Dame Edna is also a guest!!
Such a funny clip, hilarious. Will really has an amazing voice and is such a good sport.
So funny! I love Dame Edna 🤣🤣. And Will has a fabulous voice. Pitch perfect. Inspired casting 👍🏼👍🏼💖💖
gosh! his voice! when it was just his voice and a piano - goosebumps!
and dame edna's comedic timing is perfect!
I love the chemistry between Young and Dame Edna. They work so well with one another.
This kind of chemistry only works if they are both genuinely nice people with talent and absolutely no egos. And of course mutual respect. I’m not surprised that this is hilarious.
No ego? Dame Edna? 😹
@@Ainzleeriddell yes but that’s the kind of ego I can deal with. So sadly missed.
The duet was real. His voice is luscious, and the Dame Edna’s was softly shy and as if Barry was crossing his own fourth wall…..he has Dame Edna meaningfully say….I love you.
Will is pretty funny in his own right. But those two combined was most certainly tv gold.
Barry Humpheries is a comedy genius
Dame Edna*
Sorry Barry humphueries as Dame Edna…. Is a genius
I believe you are talking about Barry Humphries, Dame Edna's manager.

The new album it's what we've all been waiting for, tell us about it..... Edna then steals the show! Legendary.
I always enjoy seeing Dame Edna. She makes me laugh.
Simple music can make you sing simple hug can make you feel better simple things can make you happy, i hope my simple Hello brings smile to your face,.,,
What I love about Dame Edna is that she knows she is the best and everyone wants to talk to her but she brings it back to Will's album.
DAME EDNA come to the USA we need you

R.I.P dame Edna. One of the greatest.
Pure gold ❤🎉
This clip demonstrates what I love about Barry Humphries. Although he was always the funniest person in the room, he always set up gags for other guests and left them room to be funny as well, true professional, comedy genius.
Oh my God, she actually took over the show! Rob tried his best but he really wasn't up to the challenge.
What a double act. And good on Rob for just going with the flow
Both princess Catherine and Charlotte are beautiful. ❤❤🏴🏴
Will would be perfect in a musical of the old-fashioned kind. His voice would suit that so well. This little duet, even though it was just jokey, showed off Will's musical voice perfectly.

Thanks for the info, have found it on a dvd which I waiting to come through, meantime am still watching youtube, a great fan of his.
I had never heard of him either. perhaps because I haven't lived in UK for 30years!
I do love Will's crooning voice.

for those saying dame edna is a drag queen, wow, YOU ARE COMPLETELY WRONG. THIS IS NOT A DRAG ACT. Edna is a character the actor Humphries plays. its a persona.
LUIS FE Rojas Drag artists play a persona too... That's entirely the point. xD
you have described exactly what drag queen is.
LUIS FE Rojas pretty sure she has at least made a mark in the drag community
yes, I understand. however, the very Barry Humphries has said this is not a drag act.
something Barry has been doing for 50 years also, Edna is his mum & Les is his dad & each role is feminine & masculine in equal amounts. Edna never says anything butch & Les never says anything girly.
Rob responded beautifully.
This was brilliant.
Note: Dame Edna asked Will about his album name. They got off topic but he was subtle enough to help bring it back to "Will". He's / she's a genius. You can tell at 3:44 the Dame is trying to withhold her laughter...so great
Priceless!
3:25 - 3:47 is comedy GOLD!!!

3 men create an illusion that is totally outrageous and believable
Love
Wills voice is among the top singers, does anyone know which album the track "sweetest feeling" is on ??
Google?
Glad dame edna was there because the show would of been boring with the other two. RIP
Me gustaria que los episodios fueran traducidos a español
Ive nevet heard of him either!
Comic genius.
You can go and have a cup of tea😂
Luv it
Never heard of him either
Will Young is a good singer.
Simple music can make you sing simple hug can make you feel better simple things can make you happy, i hope my simple Hello brings smile to your face,.,,
They need to change the piano player sounds like my uncle at xmas time after a few drinks
Will can sing "Something Stupid" better than Frank! Combine that with the genius that is Dame Edna and you have 24kt GOLD!
@paulidol9 I should have added that the recorded version wasn't as good as his audition version. It was produced completely different. Just enjoy listening to it on youtube.
@aligary I know that but I didn't feel like saying He/She.
A housewife superstar.
Dame Edna always wins Will...
The is classic 😂
Being funny and engaging.
This is what happens when you put two queens on the same couch.
But for Dame Edna's presence, not a solitary trace of heterosexuality would've been evident here!
I feel cheated out of all of Dame Edna.
Rob seemed a bit annoyed with the Same during this skit. I knew they were great friends, but he wears it on his face.
i dont like it when they try to be in on the joke with Dame Edna. just carry on as normal and take what's coming to you. laughter ensues. subversion has no friends. oh and a really great scalp of hers is craig ferguson or something in usa. _tore _him_ _apart_ :)
