Nate and Marissa have definitely moved the needle on style, form and function of RV's. This is my and my wife's favorite RV layout so far. What a great review!
Three things I love are...the shower, the entire kitchen and the awnings. Three things I don’t like are...the position of where the sewer hose attaches, at that price let’s put a washer and dryer in there, and the color of the furniture in the living area.
It could use a dishwasher (besides my hubby)! I love the layout, the big kitchen, the king bed and that the bathroom is easy access for everyone. IF I was looking...this would be it.

Very nice unit with excellent storage capabilities in the kitchen and bedroom. At this price point it should have a bigger sink and more linen storage in the bathroom.
If you need a dishwasher in your camper, then you're too lazy to camp. That's just ridiculous. Stay home. What happened to the original idea of camping? Leaving all the hassles of every day life to get away from it all? "Roughing it"? Getting back to our pioneer roots and enjoying nature?? What the hell is the point of "getting away from it all" if you're bringing it all with you? The phone, the TV, the microwave, washer and dryer and a dishwasher? Wtf? We've become over pampered, lazy and spoiled. A TV and a microwave are one thing but a dishwasher is just too far over the top. Smh. Camping is dead. But what should I expect from a generation that doesn't even know how to work a manual can opener. Sigh.
Wow, disregard the mean comment above. LOTS of people want a dishwasher. I don’t think that’s unusual at all and not everyone is in RVing to “rough it”. Some people are in it full time or to see the world or any number of other reasons that are their own and don’t need justification. I would think, especially with the sink placement (that’s typical across brands for this floor plan), a good RV person could install a dishwasher even if there’s not a place already designated for it. I don’t know for sure sure, but it’s an option. There’s also plenty of room potentially for a counter top or other portable model. Hope this helps.
I think Grand Design is my FAVOURITE 5th wheel designer. I REALLY REALLY want them to come out with the perfect full time for family with 2 teens unit. Like a double lift with a ceiling slide out???!! ;)

I love Grand Design and especially the Solitude! This is a really nice unit and I love everything about this unit! You guys really had to stretch to get 3 dislikes and I have to agree with them all. REally like everything about this unit and this would be great to full time in. It has everything, great fridge, stove, counter tops, cabinetry, TV, furniture, the bathroom is really great, bedroom is nice with great closet and stackable prep for W/D. I’ve reviewed many different brands and models with each having their positives and negatives. With that being said in my opinion I feel the grand design checks the most boxes. Even though I feel most strongly about the 310gk there are a few changes I would like to see. 1) in the kitchen to the left side if the stove why would you want to have to open a door to get to the 4 pull out drawers? 2) put the automated leveling controls in a separate small compartment. 3) put the cord reel in a separate compartment. 4) have one large baggage door that swings open to the side. 5) lastly while I’m thinking about it, move the trash cans either in the island or over under the coffee bar area. Save this space for drawers to put your cooking utensils in. Maybe I’m being too picky. What are your thoughts?
This is a good one. Likes 1) Color scheme 2) Kitchen 3) TV is great size. Also the area where it lifts from is a little higher than the kitchen counter. On other models I would be so afraid I will spill something liquid and it would leak into the tv lift....hope thst makes sense. 4) Bathroom, bedroom....prety much the whole thing. Just a few dislikes.. 1) The touch screen for the lights 2) Toe kick slide on the stove side 3) How u can see the hardware on the inside of the top cabinet door of the coffee/taco bar. Its on the right side where it has the light controls...u can see the hinge for the door. It's OCD I know, but it would drive me crazy.
Agree with Matt, I like good old fashioned light switches, sometimes less is definitely more. Hi guys!!! Wil, I believe that the Kitchen slide is hydraulic on this model. Not sure an electric slide could handle the weight of those appliances etc. Question: Are those tires 17.5 inch? So it has 8K axles? I believe you need to get the 8K axles for the 17.5 inch tires. Getting ready to buy one of these. Congrats on the 20K on here and the 100K on the other channel!!!!
i would like to see grand design with a tri-fold couch, movie seats, and a jack-knife couch in the living area. i wouldn't do a dinette or table/chairs. i would buy folding tables for each person and store them in any extra space i have.
If you happen to come across a 345GK, would you please measure the width of the basement (camp side) in the 345GK and compare that to the same measurement in a 310GK. Love the kitchen, but do not like the televator. I prefer the tv on the mount that allows it to swivel for veiwing in kitchen, etc. Otherwise it's all love.
I looked at this 5th wheel at other General RV locations and they are very different then the one shown in this video. Different kitchen corner top shapes and materials and different showers and bathroom sinks. Does one shown have upgrades over the standard 5th wheel? If so, I believe you did not state that.

Can you start with the price 1st as I would love to have a Grand Design ut cant afford a Solitude or a Momentum. I would be very happy with a Reflection or a Imagine or Transcend., unless you guys are taking up collections for me.
That dining table and chair set up looked very cramped. Since you did not sit down at the table Matt I will assume it is cramped and it would not have been a comfortable fit. Too bad for such a high-class rig.
Hi Matt, I am a long time, loyal subscriber to both your vlogs. You, Andrea and Wil are great. But, please stop trying keep RV manufacturing in the 1950's. Those Edsel style control buttons that you and Wil like so much are obsolete. How can you rely on smart phones as much as you do yet prefer stone age non-tech? Didn't GD tell you that their Compass Connect app can be downloaded into your phones? Also, Grand Design just made a great step forward in tech and customer service by installing the Compass Connect touch panel inside the Solitude's cabin. GD has been adamantly opposed to in cabin touch panel installation (it had been previously relegated to the basement passthrough). I will give GD a closer look now that they have made this change. Thanks for all the great work you and your team do.
Well, once again, this is for a HUGE family and NOT for a single person. _Sigh._ Too many "bells and whistles", as if this thing is boasting. Too many slide outs. But if you are young and have a lot of kids, this is for you. Thing is, they made it really nice and kids would just tear the thing up so its a big contradiction. It's just a lot of "too much" if you're only going to camp in it. But I still love the hidden TV feature. The boob-tube gets on my last nerve. And a fireplace... _really????_ Just too much. Out of control too much. Are we trying to brag and boast and "out-do the Joneses" or are we going to just camp? This thing is for braggarts...and it _still_ doesn't have any color. Smh. Welp...onto the next one...

If your Cpap has a 6ft hose, you can put it on the floor by the wall with the windows. There is some floor space that isn't easily seen on the video.

I do like this solitude but I still think for around the same price the Alliance Paradigm 310RL is better looking.
