I am 16, and I was playing a Goo Goo Dolls song while driving with my mother in the car. She asked me if I had ever heard "Long Way Down." I hadn't at the time, and as soon as we got home, she pulled out her old CD and showed me. She told me how she used to listen to this album before she was even pregnant with my sister. My baby sister died recently. She had some issues with drugs and was upset with the concern of it with others... I came here for that. I left feeling that both of our lives are the result of the past. What we had to endure growing up together. I wish she were stronger while still realizing I am every bit as weak as she was with my own demons.
My younger brother died back in early 2023 at the age of 36 from similar issues and, while he probably didn't like this song (he was a music snog who thought music died in the 1970s), I'll raise a glass to both him and your sister and their memories.

I was at "Jim Kelly's Network" in Buffalo when they "dropped" this CD/Album in 1996. They opened with "Long Way Down" as it's the 1st song on the CD. Loved it ever since, knew it would be a keeper. One of my favs to this day.

My first watching of this video on MTV left me wondering (till today) about the way it was made and the resulting visual effect. The song is great!
They have a track with cameras mounted at different points. They film all at once and then edit different perspectives together.

There were so many videos I never saw in the 90's, I forgotten till recently. In the mid 90's I was in high school with sports, part time job, and parties to go to, I didn't have much time for TV. Over twenty years later I finally watched the videos of my groups.

Late 90s, if you had a stick shift sports car, a late evening, and this song…. you were weaving through traffic at 90 mph slamming up and down through the gears. That bass line and the 3 hits was awesome.

This is what music should sound like, feeling and rhythm at it's finest.
My baby sister died recently. She had some issues with drugs and was upset with the concern of it with others... I came here for that. I left feeling that both of our lives are the result of the past. What we had to endure growing up together. I wish she were stronger while still realizing I am every bit as weak as she was with my own demons.
My younger brother died back in early 2023 at the age of 36 from similar issues and, while he probably didn't like this song (he was a music snog who thought music died in the 1970s), I'll raise a glass to both him and your sister and their memories.
