Thank you so much for taking the time to check this out, Birb!! It won't surprise you that a lot went into this, especially compositionally. So it feels great to finally be putting it out into the world. And I'll admit that earlier this week, I even had the thought of "It'd be really cool if METALBIRB finds out about *this* song of ours-this feels like the one" and lo and behold! It really feels like you and your followers **get** us and hear what we hear in Daniel (duh!) and Gennady, who was a delightful discovery for us during the pandemic. P.S. My mates and I all stumbled upon that Blackshape song/video in the last couple days and agree with you all that it's absolutely mesmerizing. The choice to show us this woman as a character in the video for 3/4 of the song and lull us into the idea that it's instrumental, only to then have her sing the most perfectly fitting climactic part of the song is just perfect compositionally. And we probably discovered that in no small part due to your reaction! Lots of love and appreciation to you and your fellow birbs 🙏 PPS You look positively dashing in the thumbnail with Dan and Gennady atop your shoulders. Love, Jamie/Earthside
So glad to see you in the comments @earthsideband - hadn't heard anything before, but got tix to your gig with Voyager + CNFA in London in November! Looking forward to it 🤘
You know what I like about your channel? If you don't like something, you tell us. If you like something, you tell us. But, when you love something, well, you give us reactions like this one. You're right, this WAS art. When I was an early teenager, I did not have a great relationship with my dad. But, one night on PBS was Yanni Live at the Acroplis. No matter how someone feels about Yanni, this was a rich musical landscape. I ended up falling asleep next to my dad and I can really remember feeling that he loved me because he was hugging me while I slept. Something that he rarely did. I think it was the music to be honest. Since then, music that is deep, rich, and transports you someplace through the movements of the song, reminds me of that moment where I knew my dad loved me. This is one of those songs. I really appreciate you bringing this one to my and your subscribers attention. Thanks Metalbirb.
They consider themselves as a Cinematic Rock Collective and I pretty much agree. I like the fact that they are a Prog Instrumental band that keeps collaborating with such great vocalists around the globe and above all of this, I simply love that this is the second time they are working with Daniel Tompkins, who happens to be my favourite singer. A little trivia: the first album was called "A Dream in Static", which is the song where Daniel first let his vocal fingerprints in the band. Now, years later, the second album will be called "Let the Truth Speak", another track with Daniel taking the lead of all tracks. Just beautiful! There are a lot of interviews here on UA-cam where they speak about their love for Daniel's voice.
You know, when we told Dan that the name of the album was also going to be 'Let The Truth Speak', we then realized the same thing..."when we reach out to you about a song, it's always the one we'd decided was going to be the title track!" It's a coincidence in that we don't choose to make it the title track because it's Dan on it. But it's perhaps not a coincidence that the song we feel is most emblematic of the mood of each record is the one we then also feel that Dan would be the best human alive to give a voice to.
I’ve been waiting 8 years for this album to drop and seriously, it couldn’t be shaping any better. I just love their cinematic approach to music. I really cannot wait to hear the rest. I would suggest you to listen to We Who Lament, their previous song. It’s definitely different, but also beautiful. It’s all “artsy fartsy”.
What can I say, great track. I tend to like my music with an occasional hook to keep things tied together but this was a journey of not looking back and it's still a very nice ride. Dan is the fucking man.
I usually don't have the attention span to fully enjoy prog metal but this songs pacing was so good I was engaged the entire time. I think they just gained a new fan because this was perfect.
Absolutely sick song, can't wait for the album to come out. highly recommend A Dream In Static, their first and only album, had a ton of features on that one. And as you said, Gennady's vocals were really unique. I feel they added some mysticism to the song
It was great id give it a 7 or 8. I think i need to listen to it again to absorb it better cause it felt like i wasnt getting it and Dan is my fave vocallist bar none
Theatrical AF! no surprise from earth side there. I love Dan's noticeable progression on vocals recently too! I really feel like he's tapped into some kinda powerful anchor that's mellowed his tone and enabled him to belt those scream tones more comfortably. Not technical terms, just the feeling I get \m/
I usually don’t like recommending another song from the same album but you HAVE to listen to The Lesser Evil featuring Larry Braggs. It’s an insane fusion of prog metal and jazz
I totally disagree on the Daniel Tomkins part. gennady stole the whole show for me. Daniel is an amazing vocalist but gennady is out of this world... literally.
I have to be honest, if it's art I really don't quite understand it. I find this track really really hard to follow. I am usually so fond of technical and layered songs but when they require so many listens it's not a very good sign for me. Had quite the same feeling with War of Being. I think it's quite hard to play with time signatures and song dynamics/structure when you attempt such complicated songs...the line on which you have to walk is very thin in my opinion.

Well damn... glad this epic piece of work got my attention. Also let's be real Dan and Gennady are the true ones looking dashing

You guys are awesome
Daniel Tompkins fits Earthside's music so well.
One of the best albums EVER with Daniel was with Skyharbor (Guiding Lights)
We are so blessed to have Daniel Tompkins singing to us.
Been following and listening to Earthside for years. Their collabs are second to none. Music is high level.

My most anticipated release for this year. Their 2015 record is one of the most mindblowing musical experience I had

It’s dropped today

Yeah man cool you checked this one out! If you don’t get goosebumps listening to this you are an empty shell. This is pure art and emotion! 💜
It's been a long eight years since their first album, but the wait is definitely worth it.
I usually don't have the attention span to fully enjoy prog metal but this songs pacing was so good I was engaged the entire time. I think they just gained a new fan because this was perfect.
So glad you featured this - I booked tickets for Voyager with Cold Night For Alligators in London next month, and they're on the bill too.
wow! i got chills listening to this! this is sooooo good!
On repeat since Thursday. Looking like a very, very strong AOTY contender for me. Can't wait!

This was such a journey... wow
This is incredible just like their first collab A Dream in Static
It was great id give it a 7 or 8. I think i need to listen to it again to absorb it better cause it felt like i wasnt getting it and Dan is my fave vocallist bar none
Absolutely spellbinding, I'm more in awe every time I watch it.
They did such an awesome job on this album 🙌 Both albums.
My MVP here were the audio engineers. Damn. They used some magic to create this track.
This was beautiful and EPIC. Its going on my Spotify playlist.
RC fart scene 😁

I absolutely cannot wait for the new album, it has a lot of potential to be my personal AOTY.
Daniel Tompkins is an elite vocalist 100%
That was such a killer track
You must experience more of this album.
One of the very few Prog bands that I thoroughly enjoy.
I usually don’t like recommending another song from the same album but you HAVE to listen to The Lesser Evil featuring Larry Braggs. It’s an insane fusion of prog metal and jazz
I wonder, did you check out the band when I commented them in one of your videos?
Reminds me of Queensryche in a way
Dude, arent you from toronto? Did yoy not see earthside open for vola?
This song changed my life. I can't help but think it's a masterpiece.
New Vildhjarta song out soon
- den spanska känslan
Oooh really? I love me some Vildhjarta. måsstaden under vatten was tied with King Woman's Celestial Blues for my favorite album of 2021.
I totally disagree on the Daniel Tomkins part. gennady stole the whole show for me. Daniel is an amazing vocalist but gennady is out of this world... literally.
Epic
Peter Stormare has a great voice
I wanna see Vessel and Daniel collab
Artsy fartsyyy
that man, that vokalist is from tessaract dude
Less Prog than Aviations but musical perfection.
I dont know why, but this song feels so Dune-esque in all the good ways
Earthside rules

Artsy fartsy. Much is wow.
