Fantastic Video, I stayed up way to late watching this whole thing! Really Amazing tour Matt well done so freakin cool seeing all that awesome iron work!
I was mesmerized by the video - I used to live in Philadelphia and now live in NC where I have lots of nature, but not so many architectural treasures! I was an artist and a friend of Christopher and Debbie Ray in the 70s. I think he is no longer alive and did create amazing work! I'll watch some of your other videos. Thank you!
Another wonderful tour of some stunning metal work and history !! I hope we can preserve all works no matter how controversial as you said it’s our history and should be preserved so all can learn from our past!!
This series of videos is amazing, Matt. I'm a blacksmith in Canada and wish there were more videos like this. The history and design elements that you talk about isn't something you see or hear talked about in a lot of videos. Keep them coming please lol
Hey! Your comment means so much! I fully realize this isn’t viral content 😂 but it’s what I love and am passionate about. It’s always been my hope that blacksmiths on the other side of the world will get to see something they won’t otherwise. Thanks again! Matt
@Matthew Harris Studio the part where you talked about how the hinges on the doors when opened "welcome" you into the space isn't something I would have ever considered. Details like that are what I am increasingly becoming passionate about as well. It's unfortunate that ironwork in North America doesn't get the credit as an art medium that it deserves outside of nerds like us lol. Fortunately, I think that's slowly changing.
I fully agree. Several pieces in this one video deserve their own video. I might go back and do that when the scaffold comes down. That set of gates is less than an hour from my shop. I’ve visited several times. You always see a new detail

You could have spent half the video just on the gate going in
Enjoyed your video and I gave it a Thumbs Up
