I worked as a binman for 11 years. I enjoyed it for a time but a combination of cost-cutting and the decision to contract the job out to a council owned Ltd company contributed to me deciding to leave. The calibre of agency staff became significantly worse over time, you had people who just couldn't do the job. We even had an unvetted convicted pedophile (literally a man who'd groomed and had sex with school girls). It's an ever more thankless task, and I hold the old managers I worked under in the deepest contempt. After I handed my notice in they never spoke to me again, even blanking me in the street some months later. I hope your employer is more enlightened.
