Hi Steph, Nice to see that your wealthsimple managed investment is doing very well, Which risk level did the robo advisor give you? is it the highest risk with 100% equity?
Honestly, your wealthsimple robo service is doing really well in this inflation bear market. I have done so much research and spent time on my self investment with wealthsimple trade and my return is up about 3%. Maybe it might be worth it for me to look into the robo side of wealthsimple
Warren Buffett said you can’t have a baby in one month by getting 9 women pregnant. Growth takes time. Just stick it out. You have a sensible approach that will yield massive results. Will be nice to see you accumulate wealth
I’m so late to the convo but I’m super excited about this update! I have a financial advisor currently who I’m really happy with, but I’m super intrigued by people who are able to do this on their own. My advisor only takes 0.1% so I don’t feel too bad about the cost, but eventually I’d like to feel confident enough to manage it all on my own (I just hate paying for things that I feel like I should be able to do myself in general lol). Thank you for sharing!
Hey Lauren! That's awesome and you're definitely not too late. We've been documenting my investment journey on the channel over the past couple of years, so there's tons of videos where you can really see the growth in confidence over time. I felt the exact same way a few years back and it's really the last year or so where I've felt in complete control of my money. You can do it! The more you learn, the more confidence you'll build in your money journey. Thanks for watching 😊
Hey, my wealthsimple account looks different, and I don't have the tabs: Plan or History...also I don't see the graph about how much I'll expect to have when I'm 65...where do you go to find it? Thank you
Amazing discipline at such a young age. Don’t overthink it. Stay diversified, low cost and tax efficient. Reward yourself at your first 50k. Maybe give your portfolio a growth or income target. Congratulations on outperforming Cathie Wood! 🤑
I think the evolution of how you invest makes so much sense. People should just jump right in whether it's the robo method or some really low-risk ETF.
just wondering steph, do you and den not plan on buying property in the next few years (whether it's personal or a rental) since most of your money is invested in the market?
Hello Steph, I just started investing here and I’m a bit confused. I see the amount I’ve put in and then I still -7.88$ (-0.95%) under the amount. I’m struggling to understand what it means. Does it mean that I have lost this amount so far? And when it comes again to positive, does it mean I have gained that amount? And do I need to take any action when that happens? Thank you!
Yes, there’s a 1.19% dividend yield which is pretty low if you’re looking for dividends income. But if you’re investing long term - the growth of your portfolio is far more important than income. We’ll do a video breaking down our thoughts on dividends sometime soon. 😊
Hey! In this video I was talking about a robo-advisor, so it wasn't self-directed, it was a robo-advisor that Wealthsimple offers (they call it 'managed investing' on their website). I've since switched to using their self-directed platform, instead (we have an updated video on our channel from earlier this year where I talk about the switch) 😊
Awesome videos! Been a fan for a while and I have decided to open a TFSA account too. One thing that I find very confusing is that if I open my account in 2023 and I’m 28 by 2023 is my max limit 6k or all the years before since I was 18 would include too?
Your contribution room would have started when you were 18. You can look up what was the contribution room in each year since you were 18. This total should also be available in your CRA account
Hey Steph, I thought that you had changed for the ETF EXQT like Den a few months ago? Also, I switched my friend’s portfolio with WS to a 11/10 Risk allocation just like you but we went with the socially responsible one. The Portfolio is up 11%. Kinda crazy cause I have the same like you do, only 5% as well. The one that is socially responsible included only 2 ETF, made by WS. Incredible gains. Let me know if you want me to share more about that. ;)
Hi steph, I have a question and would love an answer if/when you see this. I had the full 88k of contribution room this year in my TFSA, then invested 65k of it. Do I still have that 23k contribution room to play with? or should have I invested all of it? I guess my question is, can I put the full 88k in one year in multiple deposits?
Yes you still have that 23k room, you can invest that whenever. Just make sure you don’t deposit over the 88k mark or else you’ll get charged from the govt
Yes, you can still contribute up to your total limit in the future, and do it with multiple deposits 😊 like the other commenter said, just ensure that you don't contribute over your max limit to avoid paying any penalty fees!
Not anymore! We did a few videos about this last year - I started investing in a few individual stocks, then stopped and decided to stick solely to passive funds right now. 😊
I'm actually really shocked by the amount of global diversification of the managed fund! I wonder if this has something to do with say Vanguard's predictions on international stocks, though they don't seem to being making any major changes to their own VEQT portfolio...🤔. all said, it's always inspiring to see your updates!👏
Is Vanguard supposed to make changes to One-Ticket ETFs based on predictions though? I was under the impression they all just try to be global diversified no matter what and try to keep roughly the same exposure level.
managed portfolio is cool but maybe for "lazy" people. If you feel comfortable, look at option where you can pick your own stocks/etfs/etc... At least my current return is way higher than managed portfolio.
Robo advisor! That’s a first for me, I’ve never met someone who used that. Let me know if you’re open to chatting about this stuff. Would love to connect

I am a crypto trader, been doing some trading for some time now and buying the dip and waiting for right time works for me. :) if i can only that have kind of amount. 1 trade can make your overall interest within at least a week. :D
We have a video where we explained my thoughts on the switch 😊 - it’s called ‘Why I’m Investing 100% In Equities (No Bonds)’. Check it out, we gave the entire breakdown!
Good work. I cut out when you start talking about charts and trends. No offence but leave that to the traders. The average investor barely understands what the s&p even is.
2 years down, a few more decades to go 🥳 How's your investment portfolio performing so far this year? Let us know!

Smart girl, good for you, getting wealthy takes some time but your on the right track. 2022 was brutal on everyone, it happens. Best of luck!
Thank you so much 😊
Congrats on 80K. Your channel is so underrated. Great video as always. 😊
Thank you so much! 🙏🏻🙏🏿

Hi I really like your video. I think that you will get on the top up of your TFSA very soon
Thanks so much! 😊✨

New registered investment account? If its like the TFSA Just whoa🤯
Yes, it's similar! Check out this video 😊 ua-cam.com/video/YgV7cVLVLkQ/v-deo.html

I'm new to invest and thanks for your video! super helpful for beginner
So glad it was helpful! 😊
What do you think about investing in the esg vs the regular managed accounts
Nice!!! The consistency is admirable Steph😊😊😊
Thank you! 🙏🏻😊
Excited to hear more about the new kind of investing account that will be available to Canadians later this year :)
🙌🏿🙌🏻 coming soon!
Great video! Can you make a video on your plan for when you max out your RRSP and TFSA?
Thanks so much! And that's a great suggestion 😊
What’s your wealth simple portfolio theme if you don’t mind me asking

Can you manage your own funds in the TFSA.
Would you consider making a video about how investing apps like Acorns, Digit, Robinhood, and Stash have changed how people invest their money?
I don't know if those apps are available in Canada to use. She's based in canada
Do you gain any dividend yield income from your investment at all? I'm still new to this and try to learn from your videos!
Yes, there’s a 1.19% dividend yield which is pretty low if you’re looking for dividends income. But if you’re investing long term - the growth of your portfolio is far more important than income. We’ll do a video breaking down our thoughts on dividends sometime soon. 😊
btw we’re glad that you’re joining the journey! We’ve also got some great resources coming soon on our website 🙌🏿🙌🏻
I just started the wealthsimple tfsa account that is managed because I don't know anything about the markets. Is that okay?
This type of videos are amazing
😊 we’re happy to hear that!
Hey Steph are you doing the self directed investing or is this the automatic feature with WealthSimple? Thanks!
Hey! In this video I was talking about a robo-advisor, so it wasn't self-directed, it was a robo-advisor that Wealthsimple offers (they call it 'managed investing' on their website).

Is the app wealth simple based in other country? I don’t have it on app store.
It's a Canadian only platform, but there are robo advisors in other countries, too! 😊
Thanks for the info!! More power to you guys! New subscriber here…

Several decades lol wow 90 plus years old investing I think you'll be lucky to be alive I'm 70 years
You say in one year you doubled it to $33k. How did you do this?
By continuing to contribute money each month 😊
Hi steph, I have a question and would love an answer if/when you see this. I had the full 88k of contribution room this year in my TFSA, then invested 65k of it. How much u invest and after a time how much u earn mam ??? Reply it
Check out this video - ua-cam.com/video/R1kU6Q12IUU/v-deo.html 😊
Steph, I was looking at the total fees, did you pay $4k in fees and only made $1.7K with the robo advisor.
The fee number that you see in this video $4.86 😊
Congratulations! I have been following you guys from the beginning and this is quite inspiring.
I also wanted to say I have received an Instagram message from you guys and wasn’t sure if it was really from you.
I woke up this morning and 5% of my total crypto was gone. And my positions have not gone down in price.
ayy! Love this.
Thank you! 😊
Thanks for the update 😁
Of course! 😊
Awesome stuff, I'm almost at the same spot :)
5% in two years is really poor performance. I make over 20% in a year. But I have been investing for 7-8 years now
what’s the purpose of this comment
