Who should I talk about next?
And a lot of hooks
Man... tim writes the best hooks ever
You kind of implied something here but you didn't state it directly and I find it really interesting. Now that I think of it they use harmonics a lot to cover those shifts from high to low notes (or low to high). Since the harmonic rings out it gives some time to move very far on the fretboard without there being an instant of silence
Thanks man you nailed what I thought I could hear, yet I wasn't sure. Subscribed 👌
Next up: how to compose with these techniques. Even tho I can play some of their stuffs, I can't do anything about their composition. 🤧
I've been thinking about this ever since you posted it. I will try to do a lesson about this, I just need to come up with a plan.
@@JackWGuitarLessons ok. Thanks.
@@an_38kitkashyap tim henson made a video about his writing process, maybe that'll help you a bit
@@JackWGuitarLessons so where's the video lesson?
We think we're crushing it... But we are not. Love this hahaha
thanks bro we love you
Love you too
thank you i can play like polyphia now ;)
You are understand math Rock especially Polyphia Great Video🔥🔥🔥
Quick question. Only 83 views?!?! You my friend deserve more. Take my sub and like bro
very good outline, I would just add that when they hybrid-pick, they also "pull" the strings (as opposed to pressing down on them like in the punteado of flamenco) and they seem to be using only the flesh on their fingers, not the nails. I am quite amazed by them. Thank you for your video!
Dang bro!
Keep up the good work!
❤️From NAGALAND, India.
Thanks! Always had love for Nagaland!
Thanks! Suscribed
I've played for many years and have a decent playing foundation, but I'm wanting to expand more and feel quite lacking lol. What should I practice if I want to play simular to some of their older stuff I'm familiar with the pentatonic scale and obviously need to get every position locked into memory, I can solo decently but feel like I need to expand. Their new stuff doesn't seem to follow scales like their older stuff.
Really knowledgeable insights! Loved it
Dude you need way more subs . I’m going to share the shit out of this
If I don't get famous I won't blame you. You'll have done your part.
Thanks
that ending though haha
appreciate this, im wondering what i can practice everyday to be able to play their stuff

@@JackWGuitarLessons the hero we all needed
Can u make some videos on the polyphia type arpeggios ...and with other stuffs with more detail...u channel will be loved by our people
Cool lessons my bro and keep it up! Ill subscribe to your channel for ur support. Just wanna share my 2 cents on them since I'm tryna learn some of their songs. Their techniques are one thing to learn but those tim henson triplet lines seem to be the hardest and tricky parts of learning songs atleast for me!
I feel you. But I think those triplet lines are also the coolest thing he does haha. It is borrowed from that trap high hat sound.
@@JackWGuitarLessons yeah! Theres a video where tim told (sorry for my music vocab) that he just flexes and adds a lot of hard stuff on the last stanza of the song say for example when the song goes from verse to chorus. I mean their songs dont have verses to chorus but u get my point! xd I have a strat with high action and I had a hard time learning that goose sweep pick but once you get the hang of it, man! U can't and wont stop playing! Cheers my friend
It really is interesting playing isnt it.
SQUAAAAAAADDDDDDDD
would you do one of these for chon?
I'm def going to do one of these for chon.
what was the song at 1:53 i recognise it so much but i can’t remember the name
It is "The Worst" my friend
Jack W Guitar Lessons thank you so much
my harmonics work on the 12th fret but not the 7th, I don't think it's my form so do you know anything I can do to fix my 7th fret harmonics?
In the case of the 7th fret harmonic you have to be right over the fret. You also can't push down too hard. I hope this helps.
@@JackWGuitarLessons I don't know why I didn't try this until now, but if I play on the fret barrier between 7 and 8 the harmonic works instead of in the middle of the fret like 12, before I was trying to play in the middle of the fret but apparently playing in between 7 and 8 works. thank you :)👍
@@keiko5888 no no no, thank you!
Bro i can do harmonics on the 9th and 3rd fret, but I do agree it’s easier on the 5th, 7th, and 12th. The 9th is a little easier than the 3rd but it’s definitely possible.
hyrbrid perking :P
❤️🤍💙🕊️
too good. thought i would be able to follow til you murdered me playing the worst :)
Thanks my man! I think the Worst is the easiest song I came across but that still makes it a freaking 9.9/10
your voice is very attractive
coool... what is hyper picking lol /googles
its picking like really good. word.
Imagine this guy listening to the new Playing God of Polyphia, that song is so fucking ridiculous
I can actually imagine it.
I've seen ichika nito adding harmonics within a triad. Yeah, time to sell my guitar away.
make it 420 likes
that's actually a really big deal for me! thanks!
wow that was uhhhh,,,,bye!
WHO ARE YOU
I'm Jack.
Ppl think goats a hard one,yes it took me an entire day,but once you have those harmonic and tap the rest is simple. I think the hardest part for me is the 7 slide to 9 tap 20 h10 10slide12 tap 19,i always tap the 20 not 19,its like gahhhhhhh
Its cool but to me hits kind of clunky and plunky sounding not rollie and smooth sounding but its still groovy man lol!
some of the greatest solos in electric guitarland, to this very day, are based on those BORING scales ... just saying. How can you think Steve Vai is boring astounds me.
It’s nothing revolutionary. Talented yes but it’s not a skill unheard of.
