You summed up why I see Caleb as Zach Wilson more athletic. Great talent but the rest worries me.
He had to overcompensate because his defense couldn’t stop a nose bleed and his receivers aren’t getting much separation on any consistent basis. Notice how good he was with Jordan Addison compared to this year
I think there is almost always the Zach Wilson risk with these high upside talent type of prospects. No way to know until they are forced to play at the next level. If it works it’s a genius pick, if it doesn’t it’s a stupid pick.

JJ McCarthy above Penix in arm talent? You are smoking some funny stuff. Have you seen any tape of Nix? 80% of his throws are under 5 yards. I would be surprised if he doesn't complete 75%. You think a lot of McCarthy which I don't.

I can't help but get an uneasy feeling watching Daniels. Not just the RGIII-like inability to avoid hits but fairly commonly missing (i.e. not seeing them in the read) absurdly open guys only to complete a pass after a wild scramble and a lot of inaccurate completions on relatively easy throws. It's probably me just trying to find flaws but something worries me about him on film.

Lack of variety of throws makes me feel like Daniels isn’t as accurate as it seems. Haven’t seen nearly the amount of tight window throws as the rest of the class outside of fades

@@RennerRanks I know then you rank him 5th and say he has happy feet, I am so confused, because all your stats and my eyes say he doesn't mind pressure at all, and had some DIMES under it, then I WATCH Maye, and Williams and see bad decision after bad decision, Nix threw 3 INT's all season one of a WR's shoulder and mask, and the other to a guy who was OUT OF BOUNDS when the ball was released. He has the lowest TOWP, then you grade him top 5. I think he is Brees 2.0.

I mean, he has a Top 5 grade on Nix. I haven't seen anyone else say that. But you're still not happy? None of these guys are perfect. They all have weaknesses. Renner isn't perfect but I respect his draft opinions immensely. I haven't watched Nix's tape and unless you have you should probably take his word for it
@@frankl3518 I am trying to figure out the critizism because this isn't the only place I have heard that he has feet issues, and the stats and the tape do not show it, the worst game I have ever seen from Nix just running everywhere was vs LSU in 2021, and watch those highlights if you want to see special plays under duress.

Auburn is a garbage program. Also the best qb in the SEC this past year struggled in the PAC-12

Have you watched these QBs make their progressions this year?
Daniels is like Burrow in that he committed himself to the film room and going through his progressions. He made incredible strides this year and completely changed his game. The Heisman trophy is proof of that. And he did it in the SEC and against tougher defenses than most of the rest of these guys.
You can watch him go through his reads. He also knows he has the talent to pick up a lot of yards if the The defense doesn't match up to the play called or it breaks down.
Nix has no touch.
Film and stats don't lie. Daniels will be at least the third pick with a likelihood of going number two or one after the combine and pro days

I’ll bet you whatever you want that Jayden Daniels will not go #1 overall. This is one of the clearest top 3s in recent years, it would be surprising to see him even above 5
@@alexhussey1308 I couldn’t care less where he is drafted. Quarterback evaluation even at the NFL level is very difficult. Coaches that make millions of dollars didn’t see the value of drafting Tom Brady or Brock Purdy.
We won’t know the answer to these questions for 10 years . I take what’s between the ears of Daniels over Williams all day.

It wasn't until either of them got two year two where their ability to read defenses and Make their reeds exploded.
Any LSU fan can tell you this.
