This is incredibly prevalent in smaller studios where they have to constantly pick up anime and release it in a small amount of time because they can’t afford it or the production committee said so. This is because the production committee are the people who take the profit and fund the production. Theirs a few outliers such as CSM but at the end of the day, this isn’t a MAPPA problem but an industry problem
One of the best director to ever exist, whose work remained a favorite of every generation in my country, despite the movies being black and white, P. Ramlee, once said that if you want to make quality work that lasted, you need to make sure that those you work with are taken care of. He's very famous for his comedy works and he was extremely well respected. You just can't stop laughing at the jokes as they are very well written no matter how many times you watch it. What I'm saying is, quality works take time. When you rush it, it just won't hold. People will forget about it. He would even wait for his actors and actresses to get comfortable with their roles before shooting. He said; we all rise together or we will all fall. And he was right. They all rose in the industry together, not just him or the main actors/actresses with him. So take care of those below you. You are nothing without them.
I’m not sure if it’s right to bunch up Mad House with Mappa at the end there, the extent of the overwork seems to be very different It’s not like the creator of Mappa and mad house left it into the wrong hands but as he was still working there he had less and less control over the projects they picked up and the creative vision so the studios were already going down that path before he left. Both studios are victims of their own success though Mad House did a massive rebound with Frieren and Delicious in Dungeon making smart production decisions like early on deciding which episodes to out source All we can hope is Mappa learned form this since several animators and directors are refusing to work with them now. They canceled the Yuri on Ice movie let’s hope they can also build an actual production line for Season 2 of hells paradise because for season 1 it was non existent
the only way to make mappa Stand again is to announce that they will reject all offer's for now until all the project's are done and have a vacation for 6 months
The animators a getting low paid because in Japan and others Asian countries have a very different currency and price. For example, if you buy a Lays chips for 0.50$ in US but the same chips cost 0.10$ in Japan. And the people in charge be like: That much money is enough for one drawing.
when I learned how underpaid and how awful the work conditions are for anime animators, I stopped being a snob and criticizing anime so hard. Most of these people work out of love and passion. I personally wouldn't mind to wait an extra year for a show to come out if that means the animators have better work conditions, unfortunately, that's not the mentality of corporate work. I've been watching tower of god season 2 and it has horrendous animation, but hey, i don't really mind too much because I KNOW how those animators must be getting treated.
I honestly didn’t buy the blue ray versions because the changes they made are just a 2$ upgrade. Hidden inventory the movie and the first season made me love anime even more but the fight with jogo and mahoraga made think if they put their best efforts into this with reasonable profit and time It would have been a gift to my eyes but the poor working conditions just make me think the higher ups are just lazy. They are a multi billion dollar company and they make deadlines shorter and underpay their workers if America or idk England had an animation company I’m 100% sure they would put as much profit as they could into their work. Mappa gives these workers a 70gb ram and 14gb space rtx 100 computer which isn’t really good to animate one of the best masterpieces of all time in a cubical and sometimes they put the workers in a random spot outside the studio. The mappa and mad house companies need a new dircetor like the invincible director cuz he alright he’s a good director, the people that work at toei animators only got overworked recently only because they have higher quality stuff and need their best work. In conclusion mappa and mad house need better director’s and pay for the equipment and the animators so the anime and the people making it can be at their best.

Theirs a few outliers such as CSM but at the end of the day, this isn’t a MAPPA problem but an industry problem
Holy W.
keep in mind most workers, and for anime in fact, including mappa and other studios, mostly consists of freelancers anyway.
7:34 why he so fine tho like how do you work on an industry like that without looking like shit
You are nothing without them.

thank you for being my 960th subscriber :D
I’m not sure if it’s right to bunch up Mad House with Mappa at the end there, the extent of the overwork seems to be very different
It’s not like the creator of Mappa and mad house left it into the wrong hands but as he was still working there he had less and less control over the projects they picked up and the creative vision so the studios were already going down that path before he left.
Both studios are victims of their own success though Mad House did a massive rebound with Frieren and Delicious in Dungeon making smart production decisions like early on deciding which episodes to out source
All we can hope is Mappa learned form this since several animators and directors are refusing to work with them now. They canceled the Yuri on Ice movie let’s hope they can also build an actual production line for Season 2 of hells paradise because for season 1 it was non existent
We may have a moment of silence for the animators overworked animators.
They're animating Jjk they good for the next 10 years
hope the animators find happiness and fair pay
the only way to make mappa Stand again is to announce that they will reject all offer's for now until all the project's are done and have a vacation for 6 months
WOW, Its very good video! I don't belive you have around 1000 subscripions.
i really appreciate it :)
I wish unions were more common in animation globally. People are getting squeezed like crazy. Proper laws and unions exist for a reason!
I want doro he doro season 2 😭😭😭
Can you work the animators to the Bone jjk season 3
Doing the math so yall don’t have to. The mappa animator worked an average of 13.3 hours per day that month if he had no days off at all
I thought of becoming an animator in Japan when I'm going to graduate university. After seeing this video, my dream has been shattered. I wanted to do animation because i thought it will be fun. This isn't fun at all. I rather work on an indie game or pursue another dream which is related to art or creation, like product design or fashion design. Or a storyteller.
This is just awful. I wish for all of the people that worked in mappa to have a good life 😭😭
僕はマッパの虐待に反対します
I mean, take Undertale for example. The art in Undertale suck but at least it's able to tell it's story and get the recognition it deserves. What mappa is doing is stealing people's imagination and love for creating animation, just for some dirty cash.
@@Hongsebaoshithe art in undertales dpesnt suck, its an artstyle usong minimalist, not for everyone. And is a clever style to tell the story with low budget
wait u can get heart failure from too much caffeine and lack of sleep?
...
Welp now I'm gonna go research that a bit because sometimes after waking my heart feels somewhat pained and my nose feels like it's going to get a nosebleed, etc... and I haven't even become an adult yet
i REALLY REALLY like this >:D
thanks MAN :)
Downfall? Dude mappa is one of the richest companies in the planet, the only downfall is for their overworked animators. Anime companies have Japan grabbed by the balls, too much money to start regulating anime working conditions to protect animators, if it doesn't benefit the politicians, no changes will be made.
Not me getting a jjk x cruncyroll add before watching the vid 💀😭
11:02 The irony of saying this when the next video you published has "Mappa Animators" in the title.
Are you planning to release any dog ningen animations any time soon?
My new goal in life is to gain enough money to buy MAPPA and give the people better conditions 🙏🙏🙏
Damn, right on Tori day.
This was defs the stuff he had to go through.
workers of mappa are you reading this: thankyou for your hard work
and when is it failing exactly its easily one of the most succesfull anime companies in japan right now
4:31 imagine being that mad about one change to go as far as send death threats this is a sad world
idk how to feel
i love mappa for anime but yk
The anime of the year goes to JUJUTSU KAISEN SEASON 2🔥
The company was pretty decent in 2016. Then the company changed management, and everything went downhill.
But the question still stands, a lot of anime studios had this same issue as Mappa. Why do people care about the toxic overworking culture now?
Because it's happening to popular shows. If there was any other instance of this happening, but for a series nobody knew, it wouldn't get traction.
"w stonks" over what?, i dont think leaving out a studio and let it rot and abuse people for money is a win
This topic make it better make it anime so everyone knows the thing before the anime being uploaded
MAPPA HAS NOT FALLEN AT ALL NOT EVEN A SINGLE BIT THEY JUST HAD PRODUCTION ISSUES; DID YOU SEE THE FKN MASTERPEICE THEY GAVE AOT S4, CSM, JJK EVEN VINLAND SAGA WTF ARE YOU EVEN TALKING ABOUT @Bunaye
insightful perspective
0:08 why u dropped dororo
Should of mentioned the failure of hells paradise
so we just acting like yen and usd is the same currency like bruh
THEY BETTER FINISH ROSE OF VERSSAILES. :_:

3:15 Yohann?
wtf is this crazy editing
if i hvae enough mone yto strat an animation studio, ill rain all the money the studio made to the animation and give them nice gaming setup and give them nice food
Little bro, wake up to reality. This isn't a dream. You're talking like it's easy to manage a studio, like, bruh??? Giving them gaming setups and nice food???? They need f**king sleep and rest. You're spitting total bullsh*t.
@@Purenthou_2.0 i believe they dont need to spend 12 hours a day on cooking if theres 10000 of them man. im trying to say is, my income is 10 usd and the animators income is 10000 USD yu feel me, like i dont really need all the money, i only need 3 meals a day to survive, and as long as i produce good animations, the studio will be larger, thus living me with more income and animators. the only proble mwith mappa is the owners are griddy, and jus twant the muuney, they dont care about the animators health and emotions because they believe they can hire more
NO NOT JJK
Virgin Invincible animators vs Chad Sigma Mappa animators

7:54 does this director speak english or is this another account that translated the tweet??
W video
you say it’s going to fail but they are making more money than ever
It was 70% not 30% this has been debunked, don't spread misinformation
🤓🤓🤓🤓🤓
The animation director stated that only 30% of the vision was accomplished. it doesn’t mean 30% completion, as i stated in the video. This is coming directly from the staff so i really don’t know what you mean by “misinformation” or “debunked” as the 30% is not even meant to be taken literally lol.
@@Bunaye You mean the tweet that was deleted?
@@Bunaye "Is not even meant to be taken literally" Yeah well, then just state it as so instead of being superfluos just to get attention
