This is a story told at The Moth StorySLAM, at the Olympia Theater in Miami, FL, in April of 2018. The theme for the evening was "Caught".
Our house had been burglarized a year prior to my telling this story, and the morning after the burglary, in a fit of pique, I did something that triggered an unexpected series of events that ended up in my being able to tell this remarkable story.
