They were bankrupt because of terrible management and the decline of "staff work" within the government itself. After the Roman's moved in, they incorporated the best of Egyptian bureaucratic policies and abilities with the Roman ability to squeeze gold from any situation. Soon Egypt was a bustling port and trade center that accounted for close to 20 percent of Rome's annual revenue. And it opened the doors to trade with India and China.
There are a few potential explanations for this discrepancy. One possibility is that the game Rome Total War is not an accurate portrayal of historical events, and thus the Egyptian faction within the game is not actually bankrupted during Roman times. Another possibility is that the developers of the game have chosen to make the Egyptian faction significantly more powerful and wealthy than it was in reality in order to create a more entertaining and challenging gaming experience for players. A third possibility is that the Egyptian faction in the game is based on a different period of history than the Roman faction, and as such the two factions are not directly comparable. Regardless of the explanation, it is clear that there are significant discrepancies between the Egyptian faction in Rome Total War and actual historical evidence regarding the economic status of Egypt during Roman times.

Daniel Frank that’s why they kept ancient Egypt in Rome total war rather than have Ptolemaic Hellenic Egypt just to fill another phalanx Greek role.
I appreciate this aspect tho because even tho it is not historical it low-key allows a nod of respect to Kush which was very much a force at this time they just were further south
I think the map needs to be enlarged to include the Horn of Africa and Arabian Peninsular. Also there should be room for 2 new factions Kush and Nabataeans, both positioned so that they challenge the Egyptians forcing them shift focus from the Seleucids.
And also expand to the East to make Parthia and Seleucids actually playable I think
@@armandom.s.1844 Great idea would also make room for Bactria, Maruyans and the Saka.
check out new remastered mods, they got one that includes all of tibet and northern india
Morale Is not the issue? Lol I am not even at 25 turns and all my provinces are revolting and I built all temples
train peasants, lots of them. 5-7 in cities, 12+ in huge city. until final tier of temple and final tier market and police network...
Roses are red
Violets are blue
Why do you always name the peasants?
Typing this from the loo
Turn down the in-game music, it's blasting you to the background of the video and making it near impossible to put together what your saying in total.. luckily Im decent with context clues bud dang bud
Has @Lugotorix played a full Egyptian campaign?
The fact that a non shield unit has great defence 💀
Great vid
Thank you!
how to put code to create egypt units please help i need all
They should be called the mummy nation, its not really egypt
so they are tomb kings before they got nagashed
They never added testudo
Chariots are op. What are you talking about?
BlueDragon257 I'm personally not a big fan of them. They have incredibly low defence, are very vulnerable to missiles and are unruly on the battlefield. I much prefer basic heavy cavalry to be honest
@@lugotorix6173 Chariots absolutely destroy cavalry, but you need to know how to use them. Egypt is over powered because it is a skirmish faction. All Egypt has do is build a ton of missiles, then defend your missile troops with chariots. Let the enemy chase you, do not engage in melee, and simply shoot him to death. The more tired the enemy is, the more damage they take. The desert cavalry Egypt gets are also superb units.
Plus add into the fact Egypt gets a desert bonus on every single unit makes the faction very op in the campaign.
@@PiperTMTotalWar then why use the chariots when you can use horse archers?
Chariots are op against cavalry. They are THE hard counter to them. But otherwise, they're way too much of a glass cannon. Phalanxes outright murder them, missiles will kill them fast. Plus they are pain in the ass to control.
Is there a way to make chariots in the main campaign? You spawn with some but I never could find what building enables them.
I’ve played Egypt before. Not sure if they r as gd as Greek but definitely no match for romans at all.
Turn music down lol
yeah sorry this video was made ages ago when I was bad at editing haha
