How to Shape a Surfboard | Part 1: Roughing Out the Blank in the CNC Shaping Machine
Вставка
- Опубліковано 16 жов 2024
- Surfboard shaping is a complex and structured process that involves several distinct stages.
The first step is choosing the board's template or outline and letting the CNC machine cut out the blank's primary layers.
Contrary to what some might think, computers, CAD software, and machines are not replacing the traditional craftsmen.
Instead, they're helping surfboards shapers with the least relevant phases of their work. And this is one of them.
CNC shaping machines rough out the original polyurethane (PU) blank before the hands of the shaper begin creating the "real" surfboard.
In other words, hardware and software save surfboard manufacturers a lot of time.

This was by no means a how to... more like a "watch a machine move"
Hi Uriah. Like the title suggests, this is only Part 1 of the whole process. We expect to release the following steps in the upcoming months. Thank you. Cheers.
