- How to remove & replace your front sway bar links on a VY Commodore, procedure is similar if not the same on other vehicles and not too difficult to remove!
Hearing a rattle or a clunky noise whilst driving, going over bumps or on rough roads, is not something you're please to hear. Rattle can occur if the washers are not setup properly or the surrounding bushes have worn down creating room for the washer to rattle. Clunking can occur if the end that is threaded through the sway bar itself becomes loose or bushes aren't firm enough.
Doing suspension work is to be taken with caution and if not comfortable, have a mechanic install the part required. Tightening suspension components is more beneficial with wheels on the ground to ensure bushes are seated properly. This video is just a guide, all safety measures must be used when doing any kind of mechanical work at home and I am not responsible for any damage or injuries that might occur. Please take your safety into account as well.
Another well done video, well explained. It might be worth mentioning that this can also be done with both front wheel off and the car of jack stands to make it easier to access.
Thank you so much once again! Another one of your videos helping my husband and I fix our car.
The new red ones really stand out well, makes a good job even better 😎
Another great video ❤️❤️❤️
Keep up the good work man, really appreciate this video. It really helps the young/new car enthusiast to get in there and give it a go themselves.
Good video, I’m going to attempt this today
Let me know how it all goes for you! :)
You need to connect both sw key wires to the wire that you have connected key1 key2 wire controls the phone part on your steering wheel hope it helps
Thanks for the video.
Is it worh upgrading to nolathane, or whiteline?
Many thanks
Good video mate 👍 When you straighten the sway bar link did you go all the way to the right?? As I'm not too sure how I'm supposed to straighten them.
Just need to go to the right a little bit, you'll notice it'll move quite easily! The bottom ball joint part should look like it does at 4:26 if that helps :)
@Ecotec Ace Thanks for the reply. I'll give it a go and see how I go with it. I assume it would be similar the other side of the car too??
Spot on, exact same procedure for both sides 🤙
where did you get these sway bar links
I got mine through Repco but you can find them at other Automotive stores or even on eBay. The kit number is 42708 by Nolathane :)
My away bar links did have any rubber in the top? Hmm
Interesting! Don't have an older style commodore by any chance? Say pre VY?
Wrench? Didn't know they VY's in America.
Weres the other washer?? There is a locater one that you have missed
Just replaced mine. It’s like a new car went with superpro
Well done! Good choice on the brand too, can't go wrong with them! :)
