Perfume contains alcohol which gets evaporated when meets with oxygen. So Perfume oils last much longer

Just a point to add, I am not sure it is true but after applying perfume don't rub it since rubbing can produce heat and change the chemical composition of the perfumes and this may result in a poor performance/projection and might alter the notes of perfume ...so better don't rub while applying perfume - spray or apply it and let it dry....
