You do not have to do this. The F150 epas will relearn the parameters just ensure the wheel is centered. Measure where the tie rod bolts are on each side originally and install. Good practice to get an alignment but if you were tracking straight before... plug in and F! ford. I have replaced this twice now. Can you believe it 3 racks in 180000 miles. 😅😅😅
Hi there, Quick question - I just got my EPS rack replaced on my 2011 F150. A few days after getting it back from the mechanic I have been having transmission sensor issues. A friend plugged his code reader in and got the code "P0720 Output Speed Sensor Circuit" Could this be an issue from incorrect programming and calibration of the new EPS rack? Please let me know. Thanks
Hello Kenneth, thanks for the question! I'm not clear on what you're asking, but someone on our Tech Support Team may, so please give a call to one of them @ 888-280-8324 Mon-Friday 8am-5pm EST to speak with one of our ASE-Certified Technicians. 👌🏼 😊 👍🏼
@@CardoneIndustries the data that would need uploaded from the old rack and pinion to the new one. I looked up the device to buy it and do it myself but it’s 1200bucks
The uploading of the pmi and as built part of this is vague. Not enough detail. I’ve installed this after market pos today. Used ids and it still hasnt worked right. Oem is the only way to go
I hate this mentality of "Only a guy with the high dollar BS equipment can fix this" why make this complicated when hydlaulics have worked for so long?

Yeah as long as it has electronic power steering. It'll pop up a message that says service power steering assist immediately. Just got the message on mine on the way to work

LMAO I haven't seen one question answered with any satisfaction on this thread. 😕 What good is it? Every answer seems to be, call our tech team... I was quoted $4,000.
I’m actually mad at ford for this one. $4000.00 repair for a part replacement that originally used to be a very cost effective Hydraulic system. I want a truck that goes and turns. Why make it complicated with ridiculous parts like this. My 1995 mustang still steers just fine, but my “built Ford tough” f-150 can’t make 225,000km without needing a repair worth 10% of the entire vehicle brand new.
@@deddrunc5591 turns out it was a corroded intermediate shaft. $300 part. I took it elsewhere after having issues with the mechanic that said it was the whole rack (even though I specifically asked them to make sure it wasn’t an intermediate shaft).

325 foot pounds, really? Is that correct? Seems high for the size of the bolt.
I thought it was 184 foot pounds
Any update on this? @@2ndsam302
Respectfully why didnt you show you going through IDS extracting the data ? Damn
Where would I go to get the new rack and pinion module uploaded? I can’t afford that 1200 dollar device

300 thousand plus miles living in the northeast mine is still going strong zero issues
So on My 2011 XLT Crewcab 5.0 would I have a warning light on the dash that the rack is needing attention

Is a Ford OEM Factory rack and pinion required? Or can an aftermarket part be used?

Why the fuck are these bolts one time use, are they made out of pot metal? Wtf ...
Why would anyone make bolts that can only be used once? 😕
Physics or Budget engineering.
We the people need a RECALL on ele. steering locking to save children's lives,( but no the judges are paid by big business)
How much does this fix usually cost
