Usually I'm not crushing my USB-C between pliers so this isn't a problem. My crimped usb-c from freaking forever ago still works better than when I borrow other people's new USB-C cables lmao
@@kiafluffboi426You’re taking shit literal. The crushing is just meant to show quality in build. Obviously no one is crushing their cables. But I agree the one w a seam is inferior, you also risk damage to your port if the seam looses integrity. The difference in price is negligible, your arguing about a couple dollars and a huge difference in quality.
Do you reckon that’s how he thinks we use the cable? You car is put on a crash test wall too for a reason, to test strength, not because that’s our intended use. The cable and port connection is the weakest link and that’s what he’s testing.
@@timlawson8945 cars are put to the crash wall for safety, to ensure people don't die. It is not at all the same lmao but sure, I see what you're getting at. But also, he must've either weakened it or got an intentionally bad cable because as a roofer my cheap gas station charging cable has been through worse and still looks and works the same as it did when I got I which is to say better than any other cable I have. And it has that crimp.
@@j.taveras8447 it's like $5 vs $20, if that's a couple dollars here and a couple there than you'll be broke in no time my man. And I'm saying he's testing a bad cable because mine has been through much worse and back and is perfect still
Don’t hate USB-C, without USB-C, we can’t have a bunch of different cables that do a bunch of different things all look exactly the same with zero indication of what does what.
You have made me, and continue to make me, a better consumer with more understanding of quality design and manufacturing. Thanks for not ever taking sponsers. I can also catch sneaky adds faster now thanks to you
Just wondering but what's the best USB C for Iphone 15 Pro Max? I've watched the iPhone 15 cables video of yours but I wasn't sure if the top product on that was still relevent for the pro max.
getting usb cables has always been hell where I live, micro usb was the worst offender by far, the only good cable one could get was the ones that came with cheap wacom tablets
What is funny is the USB-C to USB-C cable that comes with the Galaxy S23 Ultra is crimped/has the seam. 😂 All the other cables I have that came with wireless earphones/speakers/and other accessories are NOT crimped/has the seam. What is going on?!
One thing I’ve learned with type-c for lamens… the “longer” the ends the higher the standard probably. Like those stubby super easy to use ones tend to do power and no data.. the long beefy tips tend to use all pins and have every feature. Thunderbolt 4 is just USB4 with “all the options” So if you find a USB4 Cable with 40/240 you can save a few bucks not paying for the Intel certs.
Hey Do you have a video where it shows which usb c cables have smaller heads? Apples is smaller than most companies and I haven’t found one yet that works well with the phone case o have
Complains about USBC doesn't give any actual reasons why you'd want to pick one cable over another even though there's many actual different reasons outside of, when I squeeze this one with pliers it breaks.
You know what I hate about usb-c, is the port and connector isn’t and durable as lightning, I’ve had quality usb-c cables last me about 3 years and they are super loose, I’ve had the the same Apple lightning to usb-cable I bought for my iPhone 8 Plus since the day the phone came out and the cable is not loose never give me any issues, I wish it was possible that Apple could have reworked lightning so it could preform at usb-c 10gbps speeds
Once you go to USB-C to USB-C the cables just cause all kinds of problems. Many are just "charging only" and most of the data pins are not wired, power delivery requires a hand shake and some USB-C charged devices also report as a battery and wont charge, and the quality for the feature set is never marked and you expect at least the basics of 2.0 data and 1A 5V would be required, but nope.

You’re my go to tech reviewer man, you’re honestly one of the only true tech UA-camrs and I know you wouldn’t sell out.

can you rate car mounts?

I have that exact red one. 😢
I wonder what type of head Val uses ?

so wish the $80 oculus quest link cable DIDN'T have a seam
I would never get a cable at the gas station they are junk only way i would get one would be if i needed one right then and there
I ain't crushing the heads . I'm buying the cheap ones . Even 10 box us too much for a fkin cable
Don't buy electronics from a gas station. Walmart is just around the corner
Walmart has some decent belkin cables and I own a belkin lightning to usb-a cable that I’ve had for about 4 years now and it’s still going strong
"i really hate usb c" is it mental damage or what?
We need 3.5 mm dongles.
I hope you touch on the ones that’ll work with iPhones. I android will not.
I already bummed coworkers android cables. Theirs worked.

Wait why do you hate USB -C?!
I have ones with the seam, and it works fine. It depends on how you use it.
Well no one's going to intentionally crush it like this 😂
He’s not lying. One time I bought a USB-Lightning as usual until my battery health went DEEP!😳

Oops.
Speaking of throwing cables out, can you do a video on properly recycling or trashing electronics? That would be amazing.
Can't wait for the results! 🔥
When’s the review of a wad of cash in a ziplock bag? 😂

Yeah the chargers from the gas station also ruin the charging regulator chip in iPhones
You could just buy the cheap one and stop crimping your cables
