- The celebrated hyacinth are slowly arriving in early Spring. Their beautifully strong and colorful flowers are perfectly contrasting the elegant ruscus branches.
Ikebana is one of the three classical Japanese arts of refinement. The Ikenobō school is the first official school of Ikebana, with over 550 years of written history. There are schools of Japanese floral art throughout the world.
Shōka Shōfūtai is an end of 19th century traditional floral arrangement proposing three principal branches (Yakueda):
- Shin, central and strong;
- Soe, going towards the light;
- Tai, showcasing the energy of young plants.
Shōka Nishuike uses two materials. The two materials are typically arranged with Shin and Soe for the first material, and the Tai for the second one.
Artist: Michel Donais, assistant teacher of Ikebana, 1st level (11th certificate), Ikenobō school.
