Robert Nighthawk Stomp (which I learned off the studio version), Harvard Square Stomp and T-Bone Boogie (especially the live version...a must see on UA-cam) are some of my absolute favorites of Ronnie's. I've met him and seen him 3 times. He's a firestorm on guitar, and a beautiful soul. Love, love, love him!!! 🥰🎸
Ronnie's just the best , he exemplified the whole blues electric guitar , influences by so many, T Bone , Earl Hooker ,so many , I've played drums and the band are solid !! Tight as f..
One thing i noticed as with other versions of this same tune, Ronnie Earl's timing is reeled in by this great drummer!! Listen to Earl stomping his foot, then listen how the drummer says NO!! This is the tempo. Seen this is another video also. This drummer is a GREAT Blues drummer, possibly one of the best.
Yes, in Ronnie's Black Top period and the early 90's Per Hanson was an absolute killer blues drummer. He possessed seemingly telepathic abilities when it came to playing just the right accents and embellishments beneath the band leader's solo guitar. I wander why he dropped pretty much off the radar after leaving the Broadcasters. Is he still working as a fulltime musician somewhere?
@@mistert4522 From what i heard, Per's mother had become ill, and he went back up to Maine to care for her. I think he also became a drum teacher. He does have a very lengthy number of credits on many records after The long stint with Ronnie Earl!! My second favorite of the modern blues Drummers, was the late Kenny Johnson! His years with James Cotton were spectacular! The 1977 record James Cotton "LIVE AND ON THE MOVE" was second to none.
Hi naina. The song is Robert Nighthawk Stomp. It's on the 1995 Live album called Blues and Forgiveness, or Blues Guitar Virtuoso Live In Europe. It's the same album, but different names. /BS
Maybe so...... but the aggravation and blessing is, you can still see this guy weave his magic TODAY...and I promise take away some mind blowing lessons........ ain't many we can still get 25 ft from and say that... go support this artist !

Ronnie is so interesting because he varies his riffs with inflections and accent notes that spice up the song.
Per Hanson...fearless and relentless

Anyone know in which album this song is?
I guess he just plays a Robert Nighthawk thing, He'd play things like this. Check out his bricks in my pillow album.
no..this video is frm the 90's after srv had died already.
I like very much Ronnie Earl. The only thing is that I find him a tad repetitive in his licktionary... Great btw! :)
