@@allisgrace1313 It's a pretty unfortunate thing, that it's not really what life throws at you, but how you handle it, that matters. For the US, it wasn't really about 9/11 itself, it's that the US handled it poorly. The US handled Pearl Harbor wonderfully, and it became the greatest country on earth as a result. It handled 9/11 poorly, and it stopped being the greatest country on earth.

It’s strange watching this and seeing the high school kids... and then realizing that I was that age when this was recorded. Time flies.
Que hermoso tema y que buen video .Veo la cara de esos chicos y pienso en mis hijos.❤❤
One of the most positive REM songs! I pull this up everytime I have a great moment in my life
crazy, I was just finishing up college at this time, almost 20 years ago. Feels like a lifetime ago.
I was in my senior year in high school in 2001 when this song was released, It’s very close to my heart, full of memories...
I think this just became my favorite R.E.M. video.
Thank you Michael for breaking the fourth wall. The celebrities who dissolve barriers are the ones wise historians will cherish.
Thank you Michael,,!! Yes in my mind I believe that I am 😊🌻🌷🎼🎶🎵🤗⭐️♥️☮️💚
Love this band so much ❤️
aww reveal! we used to listen to this album when we went to visit my mom at work. i just remember tiny me singing all the words i knew with my dad
that guitar riff after 'challenge the laws of chance' is a killer
This video was made just months before 9/11. It's like looking back at a more optimistic time.
The country will never be the same.
@@domtron8873 Truth... I don't think we totally realized it back then. It was the end of something.
Not to mention I actually read that this video was filmed at some school in New York City ironically.
@@nathanielskeen2887 yeah the school shut down for good a few years ago
@@allisgrace1313 It's a pretty unfortunate thing, that it's not really what life throws at you, but how you handle it, that matters. For the US, it wasn't really about 9/11 itself, it's that the US handled it poorly.
The US handled Pearl Harbor wonderfully, and it became the greatest country on earth as a result. It handled 9/11 poorly, and it stopped being the greatest country on earth.
Sad they're gone, but enjoy all they have done.
pre camera-phone time. good music. good atmosphere.
😂😂😂agree.
I don't know why but this is a really touching video
they make some of the sweetest videos-how can anyone not love michael and R E M?
Quando i tempi erano davvero magici con questa canzone!!!Nelson
Mr Stipe simply writes amazing songs (that you just can't imagine anyone else singing)... and this is one of his best.
As others have written, life affirming and heartbreakingly beautiful.
If he was Japanese, I expect they would have already declared him a "Living National Treasure".
I love this video. Total feelies. Should've been my high school.
Underbar låt. Ger oss tro på framtiden. Kärleken övervinner allt. Kram Maria.
Joyful for sure..
You are stars.
Always enjoy REM.. ❤
The message is so positive yet light.
This song will always remind me of riding to Atlanta with my Great Grandma. I had just discovered REM and those trips back and forth from Pensacola FL to Atlanta GA will always be linked to REM and The Beastie Boys. Just looking out the window with these albums playing...I miss those times but this song somehow hit the soul and has always been a go to. Thank you forever REM and rest in peace Gammers (what we called my great grandma!).
When Peter gives that kid his guitar😂❤❤💜💜💜💝🍸🍷 pure majic
Funny thing about this video. It was filmed at Bishop Ford Central Catholic High School. Across the street is Green-Wood Cemetery were Leonard Bernstein is buried.
Why, that wasn't funny at all.
@@youdbettertube lol 😆
@@youdbettertube You have to listen "It's The End Of The World As We Know It (And I Feel Fine)" to get the reference.
Leonard Bernstein! Lenny Bruce! Lester Bangs! Jelly Bean! Boom!
Videos like this made me wish i went to an american college or school...
Dayumm lucky Americans...
Michael you made such a positive impact in my life. I so wish you were more accessible these days.
I remember my Reno thing. It was the last of the best part for me to San Fran, where girl left me. Dr. S. Farina still out there.
this is such an amazing song... i love you R.E.M.
