Watching this in 2024. This property has been through various stages of closure dating to before Katrina. Also this is not located in the ninth ward of New Orleans but in Algiers which is located on the Westbank of New Orleans and that area did not receive any of the flooding associated with the levee breaks following Hurricane Katrina.
Loved that they turned this abandoned project into an art exhibit called Project BE for a few weeks This is not the 9th ward and it’s not a gang turf. Just homeless people lol
I’ll connect a link to a documentary. About This location and it’s murderous reputation. Actually it’s saved to my playlist. You can go through my playlist and find the documentary.
@@SouthernPirateOutdoors that place is abandon. It’s dangerous neighborhoods surrounding it. I’m from New Orleans born and raised in the actual 9th ward. This is in the Algiers neighborhood known as the West Bank of New Orleans. It’s definitely not a gang turf in the day or in the evening or at night. It could be dangerous in a sense of being a woman alone you don’t know who’s in here jump and rape someone. That’s the only danger you can be in. Or get bit by a raccoon.
Brings back memories good and bad. I use to live her in early 2000's . Coming from a small country town in Texas to that life was different but I adapted and made it back to Texas.
@@kevinlouisiana6642 it was on the West Bank. Soon as you cross the river you would take Gen De Gaulle exit. If you're familiar with Algiers its not that far from Delgado Community Collge .
When I was growing up. Degaulle manor was not a project. I don't have to research. Im born and raised in the N.O. If yall was there in the 80s then You know what I'm talking about.
My friends and i visited Degaulle apartment complex a few years back. We were in 3 IFV armored vehicles complete with body armor & high-caliber weapons 😅😂
The night before was bad ass . I just got shot at a few times when I walked up on two carloads full of dudes. Making deals.Definitely more dangerous at night . Just giving y’all a heads up.
Wow, I can't believe this exists. Im glad they sort of made an art project out of it. Im glad you made it out safe ❤️
Thanks🏴🏴☠️ S.P.O
Yes, it's a Katrina Art Museum. I am glad you made it out safely. That is a dangerous place

Crackheads and homeless people everywhere.
this is the oldest project in New Orleans
It’s made the news quite a few times
It’s not the oldest. It wasn’t even constructed before Da Nolia
15th ward algiers
So what were these buildings before all this happened, I see a public bathroom so I guess it’s not apartments
One of the most dangerous apartment complexes in the world. Look up some documentaries.🏴🏴☠️
A housing project
Where'd you park and is it still ok to visit in the mornings? Great video by the way
Where is this location at in New Orleans
@@kevinlouisiana6642 It's in Algiers, it's called DeGaulle Manor
Terrifies me looking at it. Enough to give me nightmares.
Some cool art. I'd have to carry 2 guns in that area. Could be snakes and crazy people
I’m always prepared for the worst.🏴🏴☠️
No snakes… just cluckers, coyotes, gang members, vampires, werewolves, & witches. In that order
Who’s the artist ? What’s the location?
New Orleans The abandon District. artist from all over the world!
@@SouthernPirateOutdoors this isn’t the abandoned district, it’s the 15th ward on the Westside on sandra
