It’s sort of odd to see listeners attack Dan for his “bad takes” in a segment where he, for once, just let himself be vulnerably candid on a serious topic, but naturally just didn’t try to be deliberately funny while doing so. You do know that he still gets to be human sometimes and not your very own pocket jester, right? And that conversations like this are what make Harmontown top-tier in terms of podcasts, yes? Because the comment section on this particular video left me with the uncomfortable impression that maybe not all of his listeners love and cherish this show for the same reasons I do…
I agree with you. He is brave to talk about sensitive topics like this. We can’t just keep ignoring this issue and we have to discuss it. It won’t just go away and until we address it openly.
Mid-way through but what I get from what Dan is saying is that we should examine, revisit these laws that for the most part of humanity thinks that are enough to protect everyone. We obviously shouldn't get rid of them, but to think that we "nailed it" with them is insane. To think that they are enough to keep everyone safe and happy is the type of thinking that guarantees that someone will fall through the cracks. Dan brought up 4chan for a reason, it's one of the places where you can find people that fall through cracks; and they feel ignored by society.
Jeff and Dan love to ask profound edgy questions but lack any real historical or practical context. They end up sounding like teens who just started thinking about politics and philosophy for the first time. Kumail is the sane voice here.
I don’t seee how he’s got a bad take lmao I get what he’s sayin most people just get all touchy with pedos but fr imagine fixing problems instead of just funding prisons
This is an odd video to get back into harmontown clips with but hey

odd is to apologize for someone spilling such sickness

Dan Harmon is insane
Odd that you defend a pedophile just because he tries so hard to stay in public.
45 minutes of circular conversation for them to finally come to the conclusion that they've been using a convoluted and unhelpful metaphor
Why do so many people think that castration is cutting the pee-pee off? It's balls.
Nowadays it’s chemically. Injections with chemicals that kill your sex drive

Goddamn, Dan. Way to constantly be five steps behind everyone else in the conversation...

Man I love Dan but this segment contains arguably his worst takes lol

You can't fix a pedo. This is the first stage to normalization. The "map" community on Twitter talks about it.
all good arguements are destroyed by stupid comments by self proclaimed 'professional' 'comedians'
It's a interesting listen but Dan has some real garbage takes on these issues
Pretty embarrassing takes by Dan tbh
