Sumeet Raghavan is a highly underrated and multi faceted actor and singer! From dabbling in theater, to being a runner up in Marathi Saregamapa, acting in several Marathi and Hindi shows to his successful stint in Marathi movies...hats off to him! We all know about Taarak Mehta and Sarabhai, but Shubh Mangal Saavdhan was the real deal, would have loved to hear more on that! Nevertheless thanks @Sorabh for getting these legends together 🙂
Sumeet Raghavan is a great artist. Very underrated. Dileep Joshi is a legend. Jethala is probably one of the most famous people in our country .They don't make them like this anymore😁

I think Ghanshyam Nayak is the only one who acted in both the shows - as Vitthal (Sarabhai vs Sarabhai) & as Nattu Kaka (TMKOC).
He's acting since 1960. Crazy.

I worked on Aapla Manus and had a couple of interactions with Sumeet. He is such a nice person on set (with the little I have experienced). He kept it light and funny on set.

I have started watching Badi Dooooor Se Aaye Hai again on my Sony Liv subscription which I took for SCAM. Reached 50 episodes in 3-4 days. It's still gold. The Ghotalas, the Bhatts, the D'Souzas, and the Ojhas all uniquely weird and they make you laugh so much. (sometimes you cry too)

Sarabhai (S 1) is hands down India's best sitcom in terms of quality of writing & acting across the board, comparable to some of the best American sitcoms. TMKOC was pretty funny initially, mostly due to phenomenol acting by the lead cast (but the quality of jokes itself was quite pedestrian), now the show itself is a joke, and unfunny one at that.

What that are saying is absolutely correct and I understand from where they coming from but i think it's fine to use abusive language as well because it's a reality of life. We do swear and abuse in certain circumstances. Anger is also an emotion. So yeah, idk I'm on the fence on this issue.
So true! It is so difficult to see it with family. And somewhere this too much abusive language does get into subconscious mind especially kids. A censor board for Ott platforms should be thought about.

The writing and character work in shows like Sarabhai vs sarabhai and Khichdi is really underrated.
The best thing is that they didn't try to blindly copy sitcom from west and created their own world suitable for indian audience which I think is also same for a lot of TVF content.
Dilip sir has displayed Jetha so well, it's difficult to see him not be that in real life🤣

I still watch Sajan Re Jhoot Mat Bolo quite often, what a hilarious show it was! Sumeet's acting was brilliant, and he had amazing comic timing.

@@ohmcharan omg I loved Raju, especially the pravachans he gave as Ishwar, and it was so funny how in love with Shabbo he was, and how Dhirubhai always beat him. But Dhirubhai was too irritating, he was my least favorite character, he was always asking questions to the family, but again, that's how he was supposed to be.

Watching Jethalal off character is so odd to see....but yeah he's been a great entertainer and tmkoc's been the only show which has been mostly talked till now even if it comes to comedy.The old episodes are so nostalgic in those times with no androids and the whole family used to stick to the tv at 8:30.

PS: I had requested you via a comment to bring Sumeet on the show, so I'd like to imagine I played a part (albeit a very small one) in this collab. Dilip Joshi was a cherry on the cake for me. It was completely worth the wait!

Star One was great youthful channel though.. I remember many good shows on it. Sarabhai, instant Khichadi, Dil Kya Chahta hai, Pyaar ki Kashti Me.. And I think Remix also... Sab TV.. really enjoyed all the shows.. it started with a bang.. Yes Boss, Shrimaan Shrimati (may be DD original), then I'm sure no one will remember. But Taarak Mehta is not a new concept. There was a show called Aflatoon on Sab TV.. which was almost similar with stereotypes... (Marathi also had similar shows) ... I think the reason why Taarak lifted. Is because Jethalal and Daya.. I think they were not meant to be central characters initially... Then looking at their performance they were made lead....
Sumit raghvan and dilip joshi both are excellent actor.
Very exciting to see both of them together sharing their personal experience.

My whole childhood was just comprised to tarak Mehta and Sarabhai. Sarabhai is still my go to series to watch, cause it was way beyond its time and with Tarak Mehta I have the sweetest memory which was me and nanaji used to binge on this serial and laugh so much. Thank you Saurabh for this lovely episode😻

I watched Sarabhai vs Sarabhai's both seasons 2 times in lockdown while exercising. Right now I don't even listen to songs anymore. Both Sumeet sir and Dilip sir are so talented. Loved today's episode. Please get such talented legends more often. Also if possible can you ask Sumeet sir, when is Sarabhai vs Sarabhai Season 3 and Bade dooor se aaye hai Season 2 coming out? 😅

I'm 36 years old , married with 2 kids but still have crush on Sumeet since 13 years (I saw the show S v/s S in 2007 first) and my husband doesn't have any problem😁... Sumeet is so talented, his timing, his energy my God wonderful. He's ageing in reverse ❤️
P.S- I'm a kannadiga and long back I had read in Wikipedia that Sumeet is half kannadiga(mom) and half tamilian(dad) . But now wiki shows only that he hails from TN.

People who criticize shows like TMKOC dont know what purpose it serves. These daily running comedy shows help common folks just tune in whenever they want to tune off when they dont get break to watch in. Inspite of downfall in writing, TMKOC shouldnt be compared to daily soaps because it makes someone laugh somewhere and feel nice.
Its like tuning into our society and checking whats gone on there.
I think TNKOC has gone its greatness past way back now. Its time to shut

My two most absolute favourite actors. I owe my sanity to them, whenever I was depressed or in the grips of anxiety, I watched Sarabhai and Tmkoc . These shows were a soothing balm to my soul. They are legends.
That "DADA" of Dilip bhai at 6:06 is in reference to one of the best comedies on Indian television which they both worked in .. Shubh Mangal Savadhan .. I hope to find all episodes of SMS and Bhagwan Bhachaye Inko ..

I just watched the entire episode of the Sarabhai show titled - "Indu-Roshe's Poetry War" when Dilip Joshi mentioned it... Now I can understand why it "turned out" to be a phenomenon a lot later on when it was originally aired. The references such as "Alfred Hitchcock, Contemporary Cinema, Onomatopoeia", and might be more references that I missed, are proofs that what incredible and brilliant minds of the writers were (or still are). Considering and remembering the hazy memories of late 2005s, even though the most I've watched is Shaktimaan or Takeshi's Castle all the time but still, I don't remember shows like Sarabhai Vs. Sarabhai something people are talking about or watching on the relaxing weekend days, and also can't wonder on my own right now shows like these being in the Top 10 TRP List "that time" BUT, it did come into the spotlight in around 2007 (as Sumeet Raghavan said) because somewhere I believe, if you check out the list of 2007 Bollywood movies, 2007 has been the time when mainstream media and content started getting due consideration and acknowledgment, regardless of the content quality. Jab We Met, Aaja Nachle, Gandhi, Dhamaal, Fool n Final, and many more are there which people were talking about a lot. Well, still oblivion to this show. Soon going to watch Sarabhai Vs. Sarabhai now. Thank you for this stream Saurabh! Love you!

The way Dilip Sir accepted the fact about the writing shows the Calibre of him, he took it on, he didn't skip the question and also kudos to Sumeet Raghavan Sir💫💫💫
I didn't watched Mirzapur because I couldn't handle the abuses .
I just closed it within 10 minutes .
My friends judge me for that , but I found that really unnecessary .
And watching something and be always cautious that nobody hears or watch the scene makes it so weird knowing abuses will come literally every next 2 minutes.

Shubh mangal savdhan was such a hilarious and relaxing show. One of my all time favorite. I have been a fan of sumeet raghvan, dilip joshi and amit mistry ever since.
2008 to 2012 was the golden era for TMKOC
Comic scripts was too good but now it's evolving backwards well I am still fan of Old Tmkoc not new Tmkoc

Thanks tarak mehta ka ooltah chashmah, my dad is 75 now and he had been kicked off from his family business from 4-5 yrs ago and its not about money we can take care of him, thank God but at that time the foremost concern was how my dad will pass his time news paper was there but not enough for the whole day and we all are working and then i think of tarak mehta because he doesn't know even how to operate this complicated dish tv remote so we started sab tv at the time when we start for our office and a big big thanks to tarak mehta that they telecast for the whole day because my dad doesn't like to watch usual saas bahu serial. and even present he also has some hearing problem but even then he watch tarak mehta for the whole day. and now toh he has all the scenes and episodes by heart and when we see him to laugh loudly. We feel satisfy and in the lockdown even we have stopped newspaper his only live is tarak mehta and it was comedy in our house when my bro want to watch ipl and dad didn't allow him to change the channel and there was sweet nokjhonk. But really really a big thank to tarak mehta other it was very difficult to leave dad alone at home.

I have not just watched TMKOC for 10 years but I have studied, analyzed each and everything, I have so many questions about characters, writing, stereotypes and many things. Not just a question It would be a dream come true to do an one hour interview with Dilip sir.
What stereotypes? As far as I'm concerned, I've never found a lot of stereotypes or anything that spreads negativity in the show. Noone mocks Iyyer for being dark-skinned, noone mocks Hathi for being plump; they all live and thrive together happily.
The word "stereotype" is wayyyy to stereotyped now LMAO

I agree with Sourabh here like he said it will correct itself, look at scam 1992, they used abuses only where they made sense. And at the end it depends on audience, what they will appreciate will work, and will be made more and more and looking at Indian evolving audience and their demand for quality content, I think we are here for a ride.
