@@DiamondsHowImShining This is true. I had someone I was chatting with on a gaming site years ago. Thought we were friends. She claimed a bunch of her family and friends were in the game too. She and her "family/friends" started accusing me of making a bunch of fake accounts, and lying about it. She had messaged me saying she didn't trust anything I said. For a while I was driving myself nuts trying to prove that what she/"they" thought of me wasn't true. I asked her, if she wasn't going to believe anything I said, and felt I was so untrustworthy then why the h was she still talking to me and keeping me around,. Her answer was "because I thought we were friends". I finally got fed up, when I was being accused of doing stuff at times when I wasn't even online. I eventually said that she was going to believe whatever was in her own mind, no matter what I said or did, and that I wasn't going to keep going around and around having this same argument when I know the truth. And I cut contact. At some point she had a medical emergency after that, and had a come to Jesus moment. She confessed that she was actually the one with all the fake accounts. Her "family/friends" in the game was all her. Needless to say, we aren't friends anymore.
Edit: Basically I say all that to say, that if you know yourself to be a trustworthy person, that you didn't do what you are accused of doing, and they have no proof showing otherwise, then you have to decide if it is worth the mental gymnastics and hoops you have to jump through to try to prove your character to a person(s) who are determined to believe the worst of you.
I’m only 8 minutes in but this episode is tickling my brain very crazy question. But for me it comes down to my morals and how slippery of a slope something like this could be. I’d rather keep my morals and let everyone think I did something than actually do it. That’s just me 8 minutes in though ahha
