Hey Sightseers! Living up in the Northwoods of Wisconsin has its advantages... like being able to explore abandoned cabins in remote areas without seeing any other human beings. It’s a good thing we got there when we did. The first cabin’s roof caved in and the second is close to it. By the way, who here remembers Meister Brau? Drank it? Drop us a note down here in the comments, we’d love to hear from ya! Stay safe, stay healthy!
I built a cabin miles into the woods for fun about 8 years ago and I keep some stuff in the cabin but important stuff I put in a plastic tote and bury a little ways away. As far as I know nobody has been to it. It is a lot of fun it sucks that people leave trash and stuff behind though.
Sally my friend, I can never get over your mirrored glasses! I absolutely love these abandoned places. You and Marty makes a great exploring team! It is amazing that hand pump still pumps water!!
Those are some cool but kinda creepy cabins. I love visiting places like that too. Take care Sally and God bless you and your family. Much love in Christ. 💙🙏✝️
Thanks Troy! Yeah, I can totally get the creep factor being out in the middle of nowhere. Wishing you and your family the best during these unusual times! 💖🙏
That was fun. If those walls could talk ay cook some squirrel stew swap some ghost stories and stay warm next to the fire. That was fun Miss.Sally thanks you made my weekend! Stay safe and healthy
Hi Sally & Marty, When Marty & you walked up to the cabin, i was thinking.... incoming: Squatters or homeless in the cabin! lol (just kidding)Yes Marty, I remember the beer can with the name Meister Brau on it. Of course Pabst Blue Ribbon was always around. That is one big hunk of lead that was in the tree...the skeletal remains may be some animal. The cabin is in dire need of repair, and if the cabin was repaired, it would have been a cozy place of natural solitude. Your video reminds me of Chris Mcandless (Super Tramp) Alex went into the wild in Alaska, but when his food ran out...he died inside of an old bus he used that needed much repair. I believe there is a book out about Alex called (into the wild) I hope you guys are staying safe and thank you for another awesome video ^5 :)
Lol, Bob, you're the first person to say they remember Meister Brau!! From what I understand, Meister Brau was discontinued in 2002. So those bottle caps are at least 18 years old. I read the book about Christoper Mcandless while back (very interesting read). His picture was being displayed at Salvation Mountain - check out my photo collage from when we visited. ua-cam.com/video/tlm_Wj5MHZ8/v-deo.html Thanks a lot, stay healthy!
@@SightseeingSally Thanks for sending your link to see Salvation Mountain and a picture of Chris Macandless. I believe the same author who wrote (in the wild) also wrote a book about scaling Mt. Everest....the author's name is Jon Krakauer ..when he completed his climb, he wrote a book about his journey to the top and down. The book is titled (in thin air) and it is a good read. :)
I think I remember my dad drinking Meister Brau. I also think they might've made a root beer that I drank back in the day. What I really pine for is the original Orange Crush, not even close to what you get now. It was a pale yellowish-orange with pulp floating in it, actually had oranges crushed up in the soda.
Hi Sally & Marty! Great location and too bad the roof has caved in. I can only imagine the old relics laying all about that big cabin. I've never had Meister Brau before, although I did drink Lowenbrau back in the day. Still quite a bit of snow up there in the far North. Can't wait to see where the next location will take us!! Take care and special hugs to Mabel, Ty and Mocha. Cheers! 🍻🍻👍😎🐦
Hi Ken! Lowenbrau... now that's a beer I haven't hear about in a long time. I wonder if the two were made by the same brewing company. 🤔 Yeah, we still have snow. As much as I wish it was gone, it's good that it's melting slowly. A slow melt will curb some of the flooding. Thanks so much. Stay safe, stay healthy! Cheers. 🍷😁🐾✌️
I love old cabins, I could live in one in the middle of the woods. I would like to build one next to a river like the one you showed. As always thanks for the upload.
You're welcome, it's good to see you again. This would be the perfect place for you to do that. Out in the middle of nowhere next to the river. What's not to love?
You guys missed two deer beds just as you arrived at the cabin. @3:08 All that deer droppings is actually porcupine droppings. The prickly little brutes will make short work of abandoned buildings and vehicles.
@@SightseeingSally at 3:08 you'll notice two rectangular patches melted to dirt. Those patches were melted by the deer's body heat. They'll reuse the beds and I've seen them hunkered down with only their ears showing above the snow. When I go for walks I try to avoid bedding areas if I know where they are. Nice video. FYI Al Capone had a cabin near Quadeville Ontario. The porcupines have done a real job on it sadly.
I never knew things like that existed up North, but then I never looked. I remember Meister Brau...not very good. I remember it being a budget beer like Blatz or Red White And Blue
Well hello Sally and Morty a nice video without the worries of getting Coronavirus it's always nice to see the country and the North Woods were there any signs about houses because you almost wonder if they had inside Plumbing where is ran the waist to because I know they didn't have septic tanks thanks for the video the Sally I hope you guys stay healthy and safe ✌️🧻🍀👍🌷☠️
Thanks Duane! Yeah, we're lucky living up in the Northwoods. We didn't have contact with another single human being from the time we left our house to the time we got back. I'm guessing at one time there was an outhouse there. Or maybe they just hung it all out in the wind lol. Stay healthy, stay safe! ✌️😜🐾🍻
Very cool cabin! Would've been a great place to hole up in times like these. How did you come across this location being that it's so far into the woods?
I hope nobody passed away in those cabins if they did may they rest in peace nice video by the way though I love when you guys explore when the rest of us cant I'm down in arizona where theres not much to do or explore so good on you guys for exploring for us thank you
We didn't see any grave markers there. Although, with the snow it's possible there could have been a grave there and we just didn't see it. Thanks Michael :) Stay safe and healthy!
That was build alot later than the early 1900s also that had to have been abandoned within 5-10 years as the bracing for the heating pipe wasn't even rusted and the cans still had labels and not weather worn also why would they bath in the spring and or pond when they had a pump
It’s located on public lands, and according to the local historical society was built in the early 1900s. It’s likely people have been “using” it from time to time and dragged in the items you mentioned.
Hi there Sightseeing Sally and Marty!!! Just to let you know, that I probably won't be able to comment to you for a while. I am moving back to my hometown of Sullivan. Please take good care of yourselves my friends! 🖒🖒😃❤Much love, your friend Allen TLWOI 🐺🌵🇺🇸💖

I remember Meister Brau and Braumeister beers from the days of my youth,
Here in Ohio we have Sauder Village were they disassemble and restore log cabins reassemble into a layed out village absolutely amazing
