Been jamming to your music as I worked on a big painting the last few days, really appreciating the overall vibe and themes of personal struggle, clicking on each new song I see in the recommended, sharing some favorites over Discord... and then this AI video came up, and man, it kind of feels like a kick in the nuts. I know for a fact my older paintings have been scraped without permission for the LAION dataset all the big AI image generators are trained off of. I've checked, they're in there. I know the point is the music and I know that you and anyone reading this owe me absolutely nothing, but I felt the need to give my honest reaction all the same.

AI serves its purpose as a more interesting visuallizer (as the video title suggests) and I'm not going to sit here and give these dudes shit for using it once or twice. Hell, they can use it as often as they like for that matter.

I know people keep talking about the AI Art, but that’s the point, the music is supposed to be electric like a machine, AI was used to help represent this because the music was supposed to be a form of it.

i really miss your old style of both video and the music itself, this isnt the same missio that helped heal me at all. i miss the story telling that seemed to vanmish after Easy and Good Vibrations, i miss the soul and passion for life and the story of recovery and how hard it can be but now it all seems to be about how great drugs are and it all seems to be a big step back in my eyes (i may be wrong but thats my view). and as ive seen many others say, the use of AI in your recent work is very dissapointing to see, not just from the stand point of it being stolen but its just so souless. im glad to have your earlier work to vibe to but this is clearly just geared towards the druggies
I actually found these guys one night on my first-ever acid trip. I asked Alexa to 'put on something good,' and it played Hoodie Up lol, but ever since then, I fell in love with their style and storytelling in the music and videos. I know all music artists' styles change over time, but the last few they released, I couldn't help but feel like someone else was making their music now. And I may be a 'druggy' as you say, but I have been really upset with the releases after Good Vibrations as well. However, I am still going to continue giving their songs a chance and support them in the hope they get some more inspiration.

You can't complain if your job is not being damaged at all. I'm an artist and hurts to see MISSIO using it when I didn't expect him to do that.
@@diorscott5432 And what's the point even? Credits to someone who wrote a few words in a software, the AI created some extremely distorted and ugly pictures, should I be proud of them? The machine can't even draw an eye properly or generate an image with a good resolution

Why is everyone so mad about ai
because it was trained on people's artwork without their consent and often just mangles their artwork with countless others to make something "new"
It's literally theft. It'd be different if the artists consented, but they didn't.
I've always loved your music but this video is so devoid of any creativity and soul and only comes off as lazy. AI generation is continuing to exploit visual artists' labors without their consent and as an artist yourself I hope you can empathize with that or at least be aware with the fact you are not safe from this just because you use a different medium of art. The more we normalize this the more people will think this is okay and soon even your songs will be recycled by anyone without your consent and profit off of it.

"This took me personally 6 days" - Did. You. DRAW it? No? AI did? You directed a machine? A machine with a dataset that's built on *checks notes* 5 BILLION IMAGES OFF THE WEB? And if you come at me with "they're on the internet free to look at!!" then you have, I assume, no reason to think it's wrong to put your entire body of work through an AI so I can make music that has your likeliness, right? It's all on youtube for free, anyway! Probably on spotify and pandora, too. What about the entire music industry? Would you be okay if your labor, your life's work, your identity - was pushed through an algorithm so millions of people can spend a few days generating music to compete in your industry where it can take you weeks, months, years to produce one album?
I think you're the one being 1) hypocritcal, 2) disrespectful, and 3) unprofessional.
Music videos DO cost a fortune to make. So does learning how to do the craft (as it takes years to learn, and that isnt cheap - but dont worry it IS cheap to start. A pen and paper. I'm sure there's something parallel in music to visual art as well). So does marketing. So does a lot of things we want and aspire for in life.
Ask yourself if it's worth it - if moral integrity is worth the sacrifice, if it means generating content like this.
Imo it cheapens your work, you look lazy. A basic lyric video would've felt like it had more humanity and heart to it than this.

@@ywlumaris if i could also add my two cents on the topic of the cost of music videos. they dont have to be high budget high production to be absolutely incredible, looking particularly at Good Vibrations which im pretty sure matthew said was done with a go pro and some skater friends and oh my god that video is just so much better in every way! it has soul BECAUSE of the way it was produced and made, it feels like im with a group of friends at the park! even if you just want to look at it stats and numbers-wise, it has performed 10 times better than this and i can almost garunttee that the use of AI is contributing to your declining audience. more views=more money=bigger budget for music videos (SURELY) and i couldnt put this point better myself so i will just reitterate: "Ask yourself if it's worth it - if moral integrity is worth the sacrifice, if it means generating content like this.

ive been a long time fan of yours but this AI usage is very disappointing. this isn't creative and full of heart like your other music videos.
AI is really going far
It definitely is! This was about 3 days worth of getting the AI right and another 3 days of video editing. AI still has a long way to go, but I'm enjoying using it as a creative tool to tell stories!
@@missiomusic AI is currently very unregulated and most artists do not consent with their art being used for this. This is basically stolen labor and it's disappointing to know that you did it yourself.

Cool song but the fact you guys used AI for this video is very disappointing, I know you guys could hire a real artist.
If you want to create artificial jobs you are allways welcomed to hire a guy who will wake you up at the morning. This profession existed in 19th century, but was replaced with high technology called "Alarm clock". When there is no need for some profession it extincts, and there is nothing you can do about it.
That's probably why it has trip visualizer in the title
I don't know, it doesn't have to be one extreme or the other, artists or AI. I think this kind of allows the merging of the two. Beside the music is art is and of itself. It would be equally cool to see human art paired with ai music. The things we can accomplish together speaks louder volumes than letting change and fear control us.
