Roadtrip to Bohus-Malmön & Pärlane beach | Drive along Åbyfjorden from Gothenburg, Sweden | Bohuslän

If crystal clear turquoise beaches is your thing, then you must visit the island of Bohus-Malmön in Sotenäs kommun on Sweden's Bohuslän coast in West Sweden. On this trip we take you on a road trip from Gothenburg (Göteborg in Swedish) on the beautiful drive along the Åbyfjorden with a hike to an amazing viewpoint over the fjord, named Utsikt Varpet & the ferry ride across to the island of Bohus-Malmön. This island is a stunning beach paradise dotted with several crystal clear turquoise beach coves along the rocky landscape. We hike to the Pärlane beach, which is a real pearl among the beaches on this island.
For the hiking lovers, there is a hiking path around the island named Kuststigen with plenty of bathing opportunities in turquoise coves and lagoons dotted around the island.
The island of Bohus-Malmön is easily accessible by car with a free car ferry crossing running very frequently. We barely had to wait 5-10 mins max for the ferry, both getting in and out of the island. This trip can easily be done as part of a day trip from Gothenburg as it takes only a couple of hours.
