I had to do a before & after at :43 and 7:18, but yea, it def lowered it. Showing the 2 parts side by side would've been nice. Can't tell from your most recent comment if it really is scraping or not, but I assume Baron's did the right thing manufacturing that for us...
There is a bunch I wish I would have done back when I made this vid! Definitely the best aftermarket made for that bike. Hard to tell just by looking, but when you sit on it it’s definitely low.
Ok I Bought a Used one 900 classic. My question is , did you take or know a measurement i can go by before i go ahead n order this conversion ?? i would like to know for sure that the previous owners did not do it already. I bought it about 3 years ago , and this year is the first year that its really bothering me about the height etc. so ill be doing something. but any help will do . Great Job on this Vid. by the Way !!
Oh dang, I didn’t. But if they did the drop the spindle would have two holes instead of one. That might help 😬 www.jpcycles.com/product/zz70367/baron-custom-accessories-adjustable-rear-lowering-kit-1-or-2
Looks a million times better, little rougher ride when hitting bumps and you will definitely scrap a lot more in the corners. It handled cross country trips packed out no problem. It’s made my barons customs. You can order it on Amazon currently Baron Custom Accessories Rear Lowering Kit (1" & 2") Compatible With 07-18 KAWASAKI VN900C a.co/d/1Vebr40

Thanks for making this video! Did lowering it impact your ability to carry a passenger? I'm considering lowering my 900 Custom because I'm 5"2' but I would still like to have a passenger. Also, does the kickstand function okay afterwards or is it an odd angle?
Your welcome! Nah, my wife would ride all the time. But it does get a bit rougher. Like the bike bottoms out easier. Never had a problem just had to watch out for the big holes. We did two up for about 600 miles once. And the kickstand has no issues. If anything it takes away a bit of the angle. Hope this helps!
On my 2012 model, I also had to remove a frame part. Impossible otherwise. I also had to remove the shock to adjust it. Quite a big job. Not easy as in the video.
Oh dear, read my previous comments please. NO NEED to take off the exhaust. Use a screwdriver to keep the nut in place and wrench ... save so much work.
@@RoamonTwo, there is a vlogger here, he claimed you have to remove seat, toolbox, battery and battery holder before you can check your cooling liquid. I just hate wrong info, it spread fast.
It has less travel on the suspension so it bottoms out easier. Specially with a rider. It scrapes real easy Cornering. Speed and breaking were the same. I really liked the look of it, and 90% of the time it was just me on it. So it was perfect for me!
I went on baronscustom.com and clicked ordering info. At the bottom it has a link to look for “parts unlimited dealers” in your area. So I ordered through my local power sports store.
To be honest it’s been a minute since ive done it. Barons has their own video. Check it out and maybe it helps you. ua-cam.com/video/fj0fHLp9dGE/v-deo.html
so, im a 5 ft tall 105 lb female. after lowering 2 inches, would anyone recommend i adjust the rear shock as well? my weight does nothing on the load as is...hahaha
To anyone who can help me ill thank you so much i have a 2009 kawasaki VN900 classic i want to lower the entire bike it has one shock in the rear in front of the tire do i need to replace the shock or get a lowering kit if it does have on stock on the bike a dealer told me it doesnt have one but this video tells me otherwise
Ricky Barbosa this kit is for an 06 -17 VN 900 classic. So it would work on yours. It uses the stock shock. The kit has two holes that allow the bottom of the shock to sit lower.
Ricky Barbosa here is a link to the part. It just swaps out. The two holes make the swing arm adjustable. I did the work and made this video in about two hours. Pretty easy job. www.baronscustom.com/catalog/display/1362/index.html
With arms like yours its definitely a one handed job. 🤙

Love the Vulcan 900 classic
Nice work. My last bike was a Vulcan 900 Custom SE. I had about 40,000 miles on it when I traded it in.
Thanks dude. I’ve got 30,000 on this one. Going to run the wheels off of it! haha
@@RoamonTwo you could quit making videos and almost live off it 😅
Lowering this Motorcycle, and I own one, changes the cornering dynamics. I already on occasion, drag my footrests when going into a hard curve.
💯. Had to slow down considerably because it would scrape like crazy. Looks cool but definitely takes away from handling.

Definitely looks better
What kind of handelbar you have ?
you did not show the install ! the most important part !
Thinking of doing this… just for better leverage, my feet do touch the ground… what are the pros and cons? And where do I order the part

great job, but i dont see the big diff? not sure if you can highlight the difference of margin again? ( how much for it?)

@@RoamonTwo btw, i follow your work on the vulcan mods, wat do u recommend for front and rear light modulators? thanks!
Its already a low bike that can scrape easily. To each their own but not a mod I will consider doing.
Yup, definitely just for looks! Scrapes like crazy haha
Roam thinking about lowering my 900 where is it scraping when u lower it 2”
The floorboards when hard cornering. It’s not bad tho. Definitely would recommend!

the first thing i did was the front and rear drive pulleys !
I wanna do that next! Is it a big improvement lowering the rpms?
Did you have to lower the front as well?
Nope, I just did the rear.
Just did mine also. Not a bad job.
How was the handling/mountain riding after install? Considering doing it to mine
Not bad. It scrapes a lot more but can still take corners about 10mph over the posted.
Thank you sir!
Any time!
How do you corner,it's already a low bike?
I didn’t, haha that thing scraped like crazy.
how did you get the part in and out without removing the inner rear finder !?
