We've had our hands on some pre-production sets of the Standard Omni skates for a few weeks. Stock arrives into the UK mid-March. Pre-order holders hold tight! 🙂
Mid March?? 😫😫😫 I thought it was going to be this week!
As a new skater I appreciate that you mentioned the grind you were doing. Helped me get more familiar with tricks. Great review!
I can't stop talking about these skates to my homies and other bladers.
They're perfect I cannot recommend them enough to people these are definitely my grail skates and I don't think I'll ever get another pair of skates other than these.
I will definitely be keeping an eye on what Standard has to make I can't wait for the new colorways and versions but for now I'm just enjoying what I have.
I bought just boot only and have Featherlite 3s currently on these and the lightness can't be matched. It feels like I just have socks on.
Best skates since classic thrones. Amazing review guys!👾
Just ordered mine, I cannot wait to get my hands on them. They look amazing. Thanks for this in-depth review gentlemen.
Ordered mine from you a couple weeks ago, dont think i’ve been this hyped for a skate before. Look forward to trying them out when they arrive.
Everything about this sounds awesome. The fact you can do no liner as an option is sweet
Great in depth review that wasnt a slog to watch, thank you
didn't know you guys had a youtube channel, very cool
Would be cool to get a look at the proportions of all the boot sizes w/ the frames. Being an 11 means I'm always at risk of looking like I'm riding a couple of cruise liners.
Yeah I feel you. That's one reason I always liked chunkier skates like TRS (Estillo, Alphas, Broskows, etc) and Remz. They didn't seem like I had to say "hard to starboard" every time I wanted to turn right.
Thanks guys!
Great video.
Is there any chance you could do a fit test with different liners in the different sizes to see how they all fit with and without the heel wedges and what the maximum sizes in each shell are. Folks with wide feet like me want to see if downsizing with other liners is possible and where the limits to each shell are.
Cheers.
Just recently got a pair of 909s for $150 new. Glad I was searching around for deals
The amount of new boots being released feels vastly disproportionate to the amount of people actually rollerblading !?
You’d be wrong actually you’d be surprised
Lots of us skate. I know a bunch who have started and are now financially secure enough to have a skate collection. I have retro rollerblade trs, olive Lomax, usd aeon, sways and Razors SL Graphite. It's making a comeback
These companies are all not selling huge numbers compared to other more established sports.
I’d have to agree with you though, aggressive inline skating as an industry is baffling. We all see very small numbers of people skating in our local communities, but keep being told there are skaters everywhere in big numbers!
Something doesn’t add up to me, especially knowing what’s happening in other leisure sports sectors with large retailers of sporting goods closing down or refining what they sell.
I can’t tell if people are settling for less pay in aggressive compared to other sports and are running on passion, or if it’s actually a semi successful market. Cannot work it out!
Stoke on Standard definitely want a pair now
Quality review
Lol that intro is literally like me on my first session after watching Winterclash :D
Best opening ever made
Damn, loco reviews are simply the best. Not the first time I hear the ankle region being tight. That kinda worries me. Also what about the flex compared to a 5th element or a them? Cheers!
Wayyyyyy stiffer than both. The factory was supposed to soften the cuff for production but they didn't. It's way too stiff for me.
Y'all should bring a shop to the US to branch out and have skates ship faster this way because y'all have the best shop in the world for aggressive skating but I usually go to rollerwarehouse or inlinewarehouse just because I live in the US
Wonder in future if we can install 45 degree velcro strap possibly with some kit release on these to make it wizard ready that would be perfect but probably will be looking towards UFR or CJ2 until then.
There is a pressure point on the ankle on mine. I don't wanna modify them but I may have to do a heat mold or something
Nice!
the 3 screw mounting (UFS and soulplate) looks very similar to the Adapt Brutale. Very stable system
Thank you! I keep hearing the love for the mounting hardware like it's new. Adapt has been doing that for like 7 years. It was likely done by someone else before then. Great initial offering from Standard though.
Is that the Pat Ridder Them Intution you put in? I'm guessing it would be the size 26-26.5cm, correct? I also use Them size small, but tried the small omnis with the stock liner at Winterclash and they felt too small. Interested to hear if you get any issues with the toes going forward.
Yes, it's the Ridder liner in 26-26.5, exactly. 🙂
Gaston can you torque slide
*hunched up on the quarter slowly shaking his head*
😅😅
7:10 Those "horizontal" soul/ufs mounts are what Adapt has been using forever...
Wish it was perfect for my foot. Unfortunately it's too narrow! Back on the 5ths for me!
I've seen some reviews that have said the heel is pinchy. I know my heel/ankle doesn't fit the sway size 9 and I'm a 8.5 shoe size. Any idea if the heel on the 9-9.5 shell is wider than the sway as this is a make or break for me and I had my heart set on these. I have wide ankles which is a pain
Ankle did feel a little tight at first (not the heel though), hard to make a fair comment because I was downsizing with different liners. Felt less tight after a a couple of times skating. Lawrence recently pointed out that you can heatmould the plastic with a hairdryer around any pressure point areas (ie heat it up, put it on and stuff a sock inside to widen the ankle while the plastic cools)
Considering between Standard Omni White and the upcoming Faction White with black accents skates 🤔
I have both, main thing besides plastic vs carbon is the flex. The Factions have a lot more forward flex, the omnis are stiff. Also price, Omni 220 Vs Factions 425 USD?
IMO - all cuffs should all be screw instead of rivet, but yeah you can still replace it of course. It’s just an unnecessary step. And it precludes a hi-lo cuff option.
When it comes to weighing, you guys should weigh everything boot only. It's a better way to gage it for us consumers. Other thn that great video! I thuroly enjoyed it
Boot-only would be tough with aeons though
@@Wizz15 saw it off xD
So, any news on when you receive them?
Ship is due into the UK 16th March
is the 5/6 shell smaller or bigger than a them 909 nsxs ? @LocoSkates
Hey guys, during the “Sizing/Fit” section when you say you’re 7-7.5 in shoes, are you talking in UK size? Is that 8-8.5 in US?
I'd imagine so cus that'd be really small feet for grown men
UK
@@the.ghost.behind.u😂
So just to clarify, I'm size 7 UK shoe size. You think the small shell for this UK 5 - 6 is going to be a better fit for someone like me?
Yeah but you gotta put thinner, more volumous aftermarket liners in to achieve it
how does the fit compare to razors cults? looking for new skates since the cults are unbearingly annoying
I'm skating THEM frames on my shells. How does the standard frame feel compared to THEM frames
Felt identical
Can confirm, both black and white shock absorbers come with all skates
Yes. Every skate comes with both black and white shockabsorbers
Hey Loco-Skates team, how is your current opinion about the Omnis ? Did anything change ? Pressure points ? Fit-wise ? Did they get better, or worse ?
No difference. Still feeling good to me!
@@LocoSkates thx for the quick response
The main reason I don't want to have it yet is the size, I think the small size is too small and the medium is still too big for me😅
Lateral flex? Forward flex?
It almost 2yrs seen i looked at inlines skates.. Ha3 u guys end up with hardshell.. Which my old inlines is.. Btw im still use the oysi the 72mm..Peace!
“oh my days!” lol
Love the review but I wish it was with their liner not an Intuition. Kinda defeats the whole how it fits using a different liner.
We used the uk7-8 shell (the white one shown at the beginning) with the stock liner and we all felt it was a little too big for us (Gas and Jake are size uk7/7.5 and Harry is a uk6).
The black one (UK6) from the rest of the video was too small for all of us with the stock liner.
@@LocoSkates hmm so sounds like maybe a fitment issue if you all had issues between 2 different sizes? I know these are pre-production so hopefully it isn't an issue but yeah doesn't sound positive to me. 🤔
How would you say the small shell sizes up next to a NSXS 909?
@@Reloaded44from what I’ve read, the sizing of the shells is on the larger size. I have the Small shell which is 271mm, I’m able to get my 268ish feet into them with intuition premium liners and doubling up the shock absorbers that came with the skates to gain just enough space to keep away toe pain. I think if I had gone with the medium shell it would of felt too big since it’s a 282mm shell.
That frame looks like a wheel bite nightmare.
Curious how RL2 liners fit? Porn Star, P-Star, why not Pawn Star?
some live action
You forgot to weigh the seba cj’s
These look ace, shame they dont make them for big feet.....like most new skates.....
But then, again, any type of tooling or instruments that is presented as the “ industry standard” usually means that it’s excellent. lol
Why is nobody talking about the comfort liner that is rubbish? Nobody skates them with original liners. The anckle pressure is just insane
You nearly did a backflip.

*ao unity
I can't skate a stiff skate...I am to old...Will pass
I didn’t think it was stiff at all 🤷
@@LocoSkates probably the only review on the internet with that opinion
I also think little kids who just discovered blading should not say “porn star” all the time. It’s just wrong and the name should be changed.
My pre-order should be here soon then. Too juiced!! 😁🧃
