Absolutely love your 101 videos. You don't just explain what the concepts are, but also the reasoning and intuition behind them. Would love to see a follow up one on d-line fronts and run fit. Keep killin' it man!
Glad to be back. However, I will say that I currently do not have a plan for a consistent, constant upload schedule. Due to other ventures, I don’t have a lot of time for this channel. So, since I can’t make a ton of videos, let me know what you want to see the most! Whenever I can make a video I want to make sure it is what the audience wants most! Thanks for watching!
I greatly appreciate your breakdown of the areas of the football field around 1 minute 10 seconds into the video. It infuriates me that most announcers today have no concept of the areas of the field. I'm seeing passes completed/attempted at the numbers, and the announcers are stating that the pass is over the middle. That's crazy!! I'm thinking isn't there a school that's supposed to train announcers? Anything thrown at the numbers are deep outs or just outs generally speaking. You've got it covered brilliantly. I think there was one game where Trent Green was the commentator, and he mentioned the the pass being completed to the curl zone. Too many current announcers have no clue to the degree that it makes you want to mute the TV on listen to the radio broadcast. Keep doing what you do. P.S. Your video on routes was also A+.
Thank you for this🔥🔥 I am a new Football fan and compared to basketball, football is soo hard for me to understand maaan. All those different kind of covers and plays messes up my head🤣🤣 I never had any football experience and never played it before, but Madden really got me into it, and when I try to play QB in madden i cannot read the defense at all and I just say f it, throw 5 picks and delete the build. So this video helped me understand a bit
Hey! I am relatively new to football (grew up on the other side of the Atlantic playing the ball shaped football) but your videos are really fun and they are super useful for me. I would love to see some content about WR alignments, different receiver roles and route concepts. Keep up the good work!
Have you checked out my pass concepts video yet? I’m not exactly sure if that’s what you are interested in but let me know if that is what you are thinking about or if you want something a little different! Thanks for watching!
@@ChalkTalkFootball yeah, I have seen it, that us what got me going:) I am thinking something similar but a bit deeper than the 101 version. More analysis on what is it good for and how defenses counter it, more advanced stuff involving 12 or 22 personnel or H-backs or motion idk... Or maybe the use of WR packages and alignments' use in different scenarios, against different defenses... Something like that.😉
Watched all ur guide videos and they helped me start watching football. A fun name for ur series can be football 102 as its more in depth than all the other videos but are still watchable by absolute beginners like me
I love that you like the videos! That’s exactly what this series is for: an intro beyond just the rules! Also, I love your idea for the name and actually have been thinking about for a week now. My only worry is that if I name it 102 people might think they need to watch a 101 first… and I’m already multiple videos deep. Love the idea though! Might come back to that name for something else in the future…
You have been definitely helping me break down football more for I can see the real inner workings, like something's I've alwyas known but you're allowing me to see the game at a different level, big appreciation
You’re doing a great job with these man. I DO NOT WANT TO CRITIQUE YOUR WORK AT ALL but if you really focus on cleaning up the audio and slow the delivery just a bit and add a little more emphasis and tone you could really take off as far as an educational channel. Excellent work though and thank you.
Hey I hope you take this suggestion the right way: Your video has great content and excellent visuals, but the audio of your voice is noticeably muddy and would be hard to hear clearly in a loud environment. This is already a great video but could be even better if you got a new mic or recorded in a more quiet area with less echo.
Yes, but especially when paired with a shallow route underneath to make sure the flat defender doesn’t drift back and stop it. This two routes together create a concept called smash! Watch my passing concepts video for more on that!
@@AndreKing4 I’m sorry if I have confused you, not entirely sure what you mean though. The most common use of cover 5 is as a synonym for cover 2 man. However, nomenclature is coaching staff specific so it is not unlikely that you may have been taught a different name for the coverage. At the end of the day, all that matters is that the concept is the same, the name is ultimately irrelevant. Let me know if you have any questions and thanks for watching!

Thanks for the watch and kind words!! I’ll definitely add those vids to the list!
I'd be interested in the rest of the coverages.
Noted!
I wish I knew about these videos before. Absolutely superb. Clear, concise, and easy to understand. Thank you!
Goat video, really was jus lookin for the counters to each coverage when I stumbled upon this video n you actually broke it down well
Phew, scared me there for a second. glad to have you back

totally agree. I’ve been trying to find videos that explore the coverages and schemes deeper but I can’t find any.
Which coverages specifically? What exactly do you wanna know?

Make another video about more of these coverages and some defensive stunts that you can do in these coverages
Thanks!!
In another video talk about the other defensive coverages.
Noted!
FYI the Out zones are most commonly called cloud zone to my knowledge. I have never heard of out Zone
Isn't the out zone also known as no man's land

I'm amused by the fact that quarters coverage (Cover-4) and the "Quarter" formation, which is one with 7 defensive backs, are not the same *at all*
For cover 3 and 4 you only showed 2 deep players. Why is that? Do the corners drop back to cover those zones?
Use a different color background, anything other than white😂. I’m being absolutely blinded at 3am rn
Oh lol my bad. I can’t lie though and say that’s not hilarious
So corner routes are your worst enemy in cover 2s?
Yes, but especially when paired with a shallow route underneath to make sure the flat defender doesn’t drift back and stop it. This two routes together create a concept called smash! Watch my passing concepts video for more on that!
