The fact that you explained that it could only be in or out because that is the only way it could be perpendicular was extremely HELPFUL.. Super obvious after I though about it! Thank you so much!!!
This rule never stuck with me in high school nor my first-second year of college until after watching this in my third year of college in 2021. Needless to say, thank you!
I can't believe that she just taught this topic in 2 minutes which I wasn't able to understand in a whole day of lectures and pages from my book. Thank you so much. We really want more lectures with such an easy explaination.
Thank you sooo much! I searched for an explanation for days and I couldn’t find anything helpful in making me understand how to choose the direction of the vector (into the wall or out of the wall) until I found your video. You saved my student life, thank you so much once again.
You have no idea how helpful this video was i was arguing with a friend over what determines a clockwise rotation in a vertical line and this video came in clutch thank you 👏👏
As somebody who failed to learn this 6 years ago in pre-calc and is needing to learn this for linear algebra, this video made this concept make perfect sense. Great video!
THANK YOU SO MUCH, I always felt that if I perform unscheduled acrobatics with my right hand and arm then the resulting direction will reverse LOL, this 1:23 finally gave me the assurance, TYSM!
I understood this in less than 15 mins. I've spent days reading books on vector directions without any success understanding the concept. Thanks for this.
Thank you soooooo much for such simple yet effective explanation....helped me a lot. I was struggling for hours to learn this, but learned it in just 2 minutes. Thank you very much !!!!!!!!!!!!!!❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
Thanks so much ... after trawling for many hours, your explanation is great and it made sense in the grand scheme of things Thank you for pitching the explanation and application to the "not-so-bright" light on the tree ! :-)
I decided to watch it without the audio and it was great; I learned it instantly when I saw your hand try to rotate the other way to compensate for the angle's direction lmao. Great vid 👍
Omg I’m so glad I looked this up. I was wondering why I kept getting the answers wrong, turns out I thought the palm determined the direction not the thumb 🤦♂️ anyways I loved the way you described it as a hinge, I’ll never forget this now!
I love these short educational videos, I wish all educational videos were like this, loved it, thank you very much, btw I'm doing a information poster on curl of vector, and thank god I found this video, it helped to put all this information in simple language
Think of how a screw moves when you turn it! It's a hint I though of when I was in calculus 2 and had forgotten (because the hand thing is plain weird) hahaha. Same applies to torque since the RHR applies to torque also.
I was programming a game and this one was driving me nuts. Since there are only two possible input configurations, one would think their order determines the direction of the output vector. Nice QUICK video though. I'm too lazy to program a test case because I'm dumb but it's either that or it's "arbitrary" in the sense that some property of the input vectors not obvious in person-terms causes it to go one way or the other.
I haven't taken physics in several years so I've forgotten a lot of this, but why does vector a have to be folded into vector b? Can't vector b be folded into vector a over the same angle? Or does the cross product of a x b =/ the cross product of b x a?
@@SpaceMountain001 Thank you. That's actually very helpful. I'm reviewing my college physics in preparation for the MCAT, and I was specifically reviewing torque when I crossed paths with the right-hand rule. In this case, with the cross product of a x b = c, a = radius (lever arm), b = force (applied to the end of the lever arm from the fixed center of rotation), and c = torque.
a×b And b×a are Different , Their Values are same (which is absinø) but The direction is Opposite....... If you do a×b then according to This Diagram the Resultant Vector's direction will be downwards and.... If you do b×a Then the direction will be Upwards....... c=a×b=absinø n^ ( n^ is the Unit Vector which is in direction of c) That's Why....... a×b≠b×a a×b= - b×a SORRY FOR MY BAD ENGLISH......😀
Its vectors mate. Mathematicians got in a room and said, 'ok, what is the newest set of rules that we want to make' and then they came up with this. On a real-world sense, it means nothing. But you can use the direction to determine other vectors, which, also mean nothing. Moral of the story is that you should give up extension 1 mathematics and just go work at chuck-e-cheese.
Thanks a lot. I'm sorry you got marker on your wall but just know that you helped a lot of people. 😁
Me too
Ahh women care about these little things

Because you pay attention here
@@muneeb-ahmed not necessarily true, I pay attention in class but still, the professor makes it sound way more complicated than it really is

This was more helpful than 3 pages of textbook and a 5 minute cross product lecture section!

This vid is still helping students even 7 years later, THANK YOU
I was here like 4 years ago...this popped on recommendations again today. Maybe i forgot to thank you earlier. Thanks a ton for this.

the only time I laughed while doing calc

can't thank you enough for this! just couldn't get this really simple logic for some reason and people tend to complicate it while explaining
TYSM for this video. I was totally confused from the very beginning of cross product but watching this I've understood it. ❤️
I found troubles for hours trying to figure out this concept, thank you for your obvious explanation
Sorry that you got marker on your wall but u helped me thanks
you dropped this queen 👑👑👑 so awesome
thank you so much!! i've been trying to figure out w/practice problems on my hw & youtube yet, your video is the only one that makes sense

why we have not taken vector B in the starting and then curled our fingers towards A ...?
That would give you b cross a, which points in the opposite direction to a cross b.
A x B is not same as B x A
