Huge respect to Jeremy Corbyn. A genuine human being who would not sell his soul to become Prime Minister. Instead we have a corrupt charlatan.

  • @LeornianCyng

Corbyn is what a politician should be, someone who is elected to not only represent his community but actually makes a difference for everyone regardless of how people voted. Justice not only for the 72 but for the millions homeless or in unsafe and unsuitable housing. The unnecessary suffering and poverty that exists in 21st century Britain is shameful and disgusting. Grenfell should never have happened.

    • @jonsmith5058
      @jonsmith5058 2 роки тому

Indeed but his party betrayed him. The corrupt Labour elite scum who think they know better than us and were willing to let the country suffer to keep him out because they wanted their own puppet there.
Corbyn was pro-Palestine, that alone put him in the crosshairs, but he’d have also shook alot of things up.
They called him weak for being fair and representing the diverse views in his party rather than only pushing his own, as he should.
I am deeply ashamed of Labour for this, Blair destroyed my trust in them, Corbyn gave me hope but I can never trust them again now.
I hope Starmer beats Boris but I’ll never trust him since he’s their popular choice, rushed to the top.
I hope to god we get PR sometime soon, somehow…

(And IMAGINE the media circus there would have been, and the pressure on the government to react, if anything like this, including in a working class rented building, had been to do with a terrorist attack! Actually if there WERE a bomb or something in a tower block of that design, NOBODY would survive, once it had caught alight and say the bomb was on the staircase - BECAUSE THAT USELESSLY DESIGNED BUILDING HAD ONLY ONE STAIRCASE! @Jeremy, I think you're wrong about the upper-middle classes, they're not mutually-supportive, if the same had happened on one of the roads you mention (unlikely because they don't cut their own corners) there would have been no outcry, nothing in the Press, because these people would have been embarrassed to be caught out by a disaster.
They're well connected so they wouldn't spend a night on the street, they wouldn't go hungry, but they wouldn't expect to be bailed out by anyone other than insurance companies, nobody but close family would be checking to see if they're ok. If their own resources aren't enough to sort the damage out they go down the class ladder & they get a reputation as people who can't handle themselves, the trappings of their class are denied them.
They are ruthless & they are callous.

What did you do directly as Labour leader?
This is a tragedy of immense proportions and a nightmare that continues for hundreds of people . No prosecutions , no lessons learned by central and local government . People still not. rehoused or supported adequately.
The fire fighters did well , but insufficient training, for the call handling, no long ladders & privatised Fire Tenders supplied that went bust, and landed LFB with a load of imported Daimler Benz fire engines , when Dennis , Saxon and other UK manufactures could have supplied , with cheaper spares and maintenance .
The opposition parties have not represented the diverse working class communities properly and pushed hard enough and shamed the incompetent Tory government and Kensington and Chelsea Borough Council.
Neither you nor Starmer have pushed hard enough and made it an ongoing headline issue.
The current drama docs make many good points and recommend as viewing for all.
From a Kilburn Camden Labour party member, whose current vicar was a curate & hospital chaplin in the shadow of Grenfell at the time.

He wanted a second vote to make sure his party either got the best possible deal in the EU or the public had the chance to change their minds. It stopped being a question of whether we stay or go, and the question became "how should we leave", and he understood that. He took polarising black and white discourse and tried to inject some nuance into the discussion. Give him a break mate, he wanted what was best for everyone
