I was feeling weird for a while before I realized they were speaking the recitatives lol. Kasarova is great in this role.

their lack of chemistry bugs me to end... I keep meaning to watch the whole damn thing just to see if it gets better but I always end up watching the Salzburg '03 dvd instead. It seems pretty difficult to cast a proper Vitellia.

+bodgiworksV2 - Perhaps the apparent "lack of Chemistry" has to do with the fact that Vitellia does not really love Sesto but is heartlessly and ruthlessly using him to punish Tito and assuage her injured pride.
And yeah - the recits, not just seco but spoken! Maybe they thought it would be more 'modern'....
I love her despite some flaws in the high coloratura section
Her intense glottal onsets are quite affected and disturbing, not to mention totally out of style. But love her overall sound and her interpretation and look forward to following her!

I'm not into it. She is pretty good in it, but needs to learn a bit more about Mozartian Seria styling.
She is singing by artificial voice! Her true voice is not a mezzo. Her voice is lyric soprano! Why she distort her voice?!!...
Don't know if a soprano could have had such a smooth, dark lower register.
