- This is my newly acquired (September 2019) UTG Big Bore Full Stability Bipod (aka Model TL-BPFS01) to be used with my Zel Custom Tactilite T-1 50 BMG upper assembly for AR-15 lowers. I was originally going to use the Atlas BT-10 bipod, which Zel Custom seemingly presented as being capable of withstanding the 50 BMG. However, upon receiving it and examining it, and mounting it on the T-1, it seemed awfully small for it. I considered getting a GG&G Bipod, but after shelling out around $300 bucks for the Atlas, I wasn't in too much of a hurry to buy another expensive bipod. Fast forward half a decade, and I discovered the UTG, which is a relatively new offering. The price at around $140 was much more appealing and so I bought it.
By the way, in the time since I purchased the upper, Zel Custom had been bought out by McCutchen Firearms. Zel Customs had a good concept but poor execution. There is a famous video of one blowing up on first firsing due to the wrong muzzle break on the barrel.

Lower Assembly: Surplus Ammo & Arms SA-15 "Grim Reaper" Lower

Look at over bores, very stable and looks cool
Man thanks for showing the size comparison next to the Atlas. I knew it was heavily built, but seeing them side by side, I have one in route. 🤘🏽
You're welcome. I still haven't fired the 50 cal and after seeing what happened to Kentucky Ballistics, I'm a little leery about the whole 50 cal thing.
@@hot2warm Man! Right!? If Scott wasn’t such big strong dude it would’ve ended way worse. I’d still say go for it. Good luck bro.
Please post a video soon of how it performs. I am interested in buying this bipod.
Cool, glad I came across your video. These bmg 50's are ((HEAVY))... The 31 inch barrel is about 1.25" round, LOL! Our finished 50 weighs about 35 pounds & will destroy a little aluminum stand that would be fine for a AR or hunting rifle.... Put a 10moa or 20moa scope mount , and find a scope with 1.125" tube so you have more moa travel in the turrets... Still looking forward to a 1,000 yard rock chuck hunt, LOL!... Also, these things will clear your sinuses & destroy COVID19 within 3 rounds..
How has it held up for you?
Thanks for the review, I was looking for something for my Rugar precision 300wm.
I hope it works out for you. I haven't had a chance to try mine out yet.
I think UTG makes good products at a very reasonable price
Would you consider an over bore bipod, they make sure them, UTG
its that single shot 50 my friend
Does it have to fit that far off the rail? Like a block then the bipod?
2 questions for you sir: First, With the legs at their shortest setting and perpendicular to the rifle, how stable does it feel against accidental tip overs, strong wind maybe, or a light kick if someone's not paying attention? Second, with the legs 45 degrees forward, setting 2 let's call it, how strong does it feel? I recently switched to a Magpul bipod on my 6.5 because the Harris 9-13 always felt too tall if I was shooting downhill. With this one starting at 10 inches, I'd imagine I'd need to set the legs to position 2 to shoot downhill, and my 50 weighs something like 35 pounds. Thanks for any help or advice that you can give.
Does the pan lever Lock Solid ? Or gives a little wiggle .
Solid
I think the word you wanted to use was the word "substancial" as compared to "robust" as the Atlas bipod is definitely robust but is too small for your rifle!
