Today in Brotato Danger 5 I guide you through a win with Mutant - a character that got recently changed, instead of getting 200% bonus experience he requires 66% less to level up. At first this may seem like the same thing, but what that means is that bonus experience now has ridiculous impact. Prior, a 20% increase would mean you went from 300% experience gain to 320%, a tiny increase. Now a 20% increase means you go from 100% to 120%, but since we require only 1/3 of the XP to level up, it's worth 360% XP bonus.
We combine this with the Quarterstaff since it scales off of Level, gives bonus XP and also gives nice defensive bonuses - so I can fully focus on offensive values and farm the game.

fun fact: in actuality, quarterstaves are anywhere from half or three-fourths as long as a "long staff," which isn't what we'd call a staff nowadays because it's in reference to a _pike._ what the quarter in the name is in reference to is current lost to time, with speculation varying from being derived from how quarterstaves were wielded, how they were made, or because their shorter length made them more feasible to use indoors - as in, they were staves for use in one's own quarters

What if someone is working with less than a quarter staff? It's perfectly normal, and in fact, some people say a quarter is TOO much....

When there is more than one mother, you have to add an S to mother. You got smothered
He just couldn't keep up with 2 milfs at once. But that's understandable. Farming two mothers at the same time can be pretty exhausting, and if they drain your stamina so much that your HP hit zero, you are, well, kind of embarrassed. But, sometimes your best is just not enough. Happens to all of us at some point.

@marooniballooni03759 What beats me with most mothers is that they usually don't tell you how they like to be farmed.
Why? Just why? Don't they want that farming to be fun for them? I really don't get it. They leave you guessing on how to farm them, and if you guess wrong, you're the one to blame. Of course, you are. You're the guy who should be able to read minds! (Disclaimer: their opinion, not mine)

That but about not standing on the x’s is false. I play on pc, and I use this trick on wave 7 often, when I just barely miss an egg hatching I stand on the X and it prevents the spawn. It doesn’t move the spawn point. But you have to stand directly on it and wait for it to dissapear, if you move off too early, they spawn anyways.
Hey Dex on mobile it is the same as on computer the ranged guys just spawn somewhere else
I stand on the x's sometimes to despawn them to give me an escape path if I'm starting to get overwhelmed
Getting double teamed by mothers was Dex's dream, I'm sure it was worth taking the loss

Also, why did Dex not take the dodge healing item when he had overcapped dodge and was complaining about healing?!
For the math on when you should combine quarterstaves:
Tier 1: always combine. 5% > 2% + 2%
Tier 2: combine if you can grab another quarterstaff. Even a tier 1 gives 2% extra xp, and 9% + 2% > 5% + 5%
Tier 3: worth combining in the long run, but you lose 1% xp gain if you are only grabbing a tier 1. 15% + 2% < 9% + 9%
Don't know if you know, but ALT + F4 to exit out of the game exits before your mis-click.
Admittedly other platforms don't have that option.

Why alien tongue have knockback? I also saw some items that have stats I don't have in my game..... I checked updated in steam and my game is up to date.
Personally I find it more efficient to get your weapons before most stat items, especially since it's a slow-ish weapon and Mutant's shop doesn't allow as many rerolls until you get bunny. Faster weapons are a bit more permissive on that end.
I've accidentally stopped bosses from spawning on Xbox by standing on the x😅

Didn't have too much trouble getting staff's on my run but have noticed doing other runs sometimes its a nightmare trying to get the weapon you want. Too many items in the game at this point and there needs to be a fifth slot in the shop I think. FYI the changes to renegade are interesting too and pretty broken once you get a build up and running.

Whoever told you standing on the red x stops the spawn just isnt aware that they spawn elsewhere. I play on mobile and it definitely just spawns them elsewhere

The mothers finally got their revenge. They got tired of being milked, and having their babies killed.
Happy to say that as of today I have beaten danger 0 on all characters. 1 handed was easily the hardest lol.

Quarterstaff is a great start on baby. I was able to hit level 26 going into boss with nearly 7 full item set bonuses.
Should probably grab padding and late game dont bother buying items for the extra hp

The issue is there isn't a lot of fitting music that doesnt have a lot of highs/lows, where the highs stick out and the lows cant be heard cause its overall decreased a lot. But games usually have only 1-2 repeating music tracks, the playlist contains 6 different ones, I think its fine :P

We all know that dexstudios are just an umbrella for dex to silently have fun with rocket launchers. Do you really think the recording just "froze" exactly at the point where a rocket launcher was in the shop? Really? That's a bit too much suspension of disbelief.
He craved that rl so much, and editing a still frame into a video isn't hard at all. His studio surely can do that easily.
It's like with junkies. They can only put up their fake personality for so long until withdrawal sets in. Then, they need their fix to continue, or things get wild.
Being addicted to rocket launchers is something no one should know about, and that's why dex has to use those tricks to not get treated as an addict.
It's all a big conspiracy so that Dex can have fun with the rocket launcher for a few waves without us noticing. And there's nothing wrong with that.
