Is Tampere, Finland, the Capital of Metal?

- Finland is the heavy metal country, with more than 50 metal bands for every 100,000 people. That’s more metal bands per capita than anywhere else in the known universe. But which Finnish city has the most metal bands?
With more than 20 public saunas, Tampere justifiably calls itself the Sauna Capital of the World. Home to both Finland’s oldest public sauna and its newest, it offers everything from traditional lakeside saunas to modern urban versions. Finnish performers, metal bands included, say nousta lauteille (climb onto the sauna bench) as slang for “going onstage.”
After a sauna (or after a gig) you’re usually hellishly hungry, and Tampere is just the place to fill your belly. Traditionally the favourite local food is black blood sausage - there’s no darker nourishment in the whole world.
Since Tampere is already the capital of sauna, it also wants to be the Capital of Metal - they’re both freakin’ hot!

every city is the capital of metal in finland.
This makes me want to listen to some heavy metal!
Heavy metal: Birmingham
Thrash metal: San Francisco Bay Area
Death metal: Florida
Black metal: Norway, Finland, Sweden
Doom metal (with all the sub-genres) universal, but Funeral Doom started in Tampere (Thergothon, Skepticism).
You're not wrong
maybe the Bay Area in the 80s. it's super pop over here now
how can you manage with a jacket and just a shirt with snow you guys dont feel the cold quite amazing ah ah
Song of love official different kind of cold. 45f in in Houston Texas is much worse than like 25f in Denver. You can be outside in shorts and a T-shirt with the sun shining in Denver in freezing temperatures. Anything below 50f is miserable in Texas.
@Azazel Thorne what you tak to toukt to 50 ice kolt ryssäs side near tu ginlant to the lapland so finland is colder than my balss
@Azazel Thorne 67°c my grandma shov me foto to celsius meter virh 67°c
Peer Günt is another prime example, if you like a mix of Motörhead and ZZ Top
I want to visit🤘🏽
harmiks tässä ei ollu sitä yhtä jätkää jonka tunnen :(
Noooraaaa!🙂 🙃 🙂 🙃 🙂 🙃 🙂👍
aint the capital of metal called Birmingham?
It's the Mecca of metal
Fokin metal
Nice video and cool anecdote about Type o Negative but... Why metalheads are almost always so proud of the meat and sausages they eat? They act like if they were those who hunted the animals they're eating. That sausage shown with all that pathetic pride is the product of intensive farming where the beasts (that you should warship) are tortured in every possible way.
as masami once said, blood sausage is almost too wild
It's all part of the Neanderthal mentality of most metal people, I'm surprised no one has come up yet with their usual 'soyboy PC SJW!! 1' reply to your post yet.
Metalheads for the most part are working class filth = poorly educated racist losers who did poorly in school and whose brains aren't developed enough to grasp concepts deeper than 'mUdAL aNd BeEr!! 1'
Also some subgenres are more inclined than others in terms of sheer obtusity of the fans. When you see people with goatees and Norwegian flags sewn upsidedown on their jacket (as in the case being) there's a 106,7% chance it's a black metal dbag whose IQ isn't probably higher than 80
You seem like a fun dude.
A big american no.
there's the door.
Finland is waaaay better than America. All of Scandinavia.
