Mr. Timbre, thanks for your lessons i am amazed and love the depth of your content, and please do share more memories, always nice to hear them, i believe i have discovered what you have just described while i was playing/trying to go C0’s via vocal fry, if i can’t take the breath below my stomach area(there are days my body is tense or after a meal, or result of gerd) then i only have fry on the notes from Eb2 to upper, and all the reactions from throat, and already when i try to pull down, i feel it doesn’t go down, or quality gets bad, and if i insist then i endup grinded throat, which then lots of sputum and raspy throat, but let’s say i take some good fish oil magnesium, which relaxes my body and especially if i’m on a sitting position and slightly lean forward, and surely relaxed body, then i can pull the air down to the pelvic floor as you name it, and the magic happens, even though i don’t have great control and can’t do on command, but i can go as low as 26 hertz which is a phone application shows in that way, perhaps a linitation of the phone app, but this episode was very valuable for me, because what i have just described i have formulated my self after this lesson, before it was all random to me, and i wasn’t understanding why i’m able to go that low times, and not the other times, i was aware the reasons, but lacking the mechanism of action. Thank you so much for the great lesson!

Thank you so much for the lessons you put out. I don't sing opera, but you've helped my voice a lot. As well as being a musician, I work at an axe throwing place as a coach and event leader, which has me needing to be loud without a mic for extended periods of time, over a noisy room and music playing. I never lose my voice now, I have real volume, fullness, and clarity now, and my singing has improved a lot as well. In my opinion, you're a wealth of old school knowledge that needs to be preserved. And for you to just give this away to us for free is just so amazing of you.

A Heldentenor (hero-tenor) is basically the German equivalent of the Italian tenore drammatico, BUT it is also kind of its own voice Fach (type), as the term is almost exclusively used for Wagnerian tenor roles (specifically Tristan, Siegfried, Siegmund, Parsifal, Tannhäuser, Lohengrin) and also some R. Straussian tenor roles. In addition to the length of the operas (Wagner usually lasts 3 1/2 - 5 hours), the HT has to battle thick & heavy orchestration (comparable to Otello or Turandot), BUT the singing happens for the most part in the mid-range (let's say E3 - E4, like Verdian baritone roles). There is not much high note action in Wagner, the tenor rarely goes above G4 and never above A4 (except for two high C's in Siegfried. The colour of their voice is usually very baritonal and heavy, many HTs actually started out as baritones and then transitioned. Great HTs include Lauritz Melchior, Max Lorenz, Set Svanholm, Wolfgang Windgassen, Jess Thomas, James King and Jon Vickers,. Hope, that helps. :)

Mister Trimble, I know this may be a bit rude, but if you wouldn't mind answering:
What should happen to your school and this channel when you aren't around anymore?

Maestro, what is the proper way to sigh? When I sigh, I feel that it releases way too much air through my vocal folds.

As Caruso said in his book, "Keep the exhalation well down toward the abdomen". Leaking sighs are outwardly directed sighs, and sometimes upwardly directed away from the body and the abdomen. Are you reviewing all of the videos I have put up on Skype? i have described and demonstrated the non-leaking approach many times in the nearly 200 videos I have posted. Sigh downward and inward. while maintaining a totally free throat. Practice sighing into a tissue and singing into a tissue, especially if aspirated consonants are moving the paper. The tissue (or candle flame) must not move while singing or speaking. In order to obey. this old rule of the Bel Canto vocal style, the singers should vocalize with the tissue hanging or the flame burning steadily about one inch in front of the lips until it becomes possible to never move paper or flame, at all, while singing or speaking. I much prefer the tissue, by the way, because it is very sensitive to any change of emission and does not burn my nose or go out at a critical moment and require that I relight it. Sighing upward leaks a lot and can blow the paper away or extinguish the flame easily if the sigh in not directed downward and inward. So, I leave it to you to practice singing the entire alphabet without any movement of the tissue or candle flame. You will never be sorry if you accomplish this most important of all criteria while singing and speaking. Adalina Patti said "Don't sing breathy!" I hope this helps you. All the best, Michael t
