He's flying like a speed demon, and he's just talking like he's sitting in a studio.
when you get to really know the test track you can drive it by memory, not speaking of talking during it
R.I.P Richard Burns.
Rest in peace, Richard...
+Envy_ Rg - Just to clarify Luke Mitchell's response: Richard Burns died in 2005. Richard Hammond is very much alive.
NO NOT RICHARD HE WAS MY BEST FRIENDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDD
Richard Burns died so young. May he be remembered as probably one of, if not the best Rally driver in history. Richard, we all still miss you to this day.
RedJLetsPlay Colin McRae wasn't the best, Walter Rörhl was. Best Group A driver, maybe, but definitely not THE best.
If Rörhl wasn't better than McRae, then explain to me how he won the 1982 WRC Driver's Title against the quattro drivers, and explain to me how Lancia managed the beat the quattro for the Constructor's Title.
Colin, on the other hand, never participated in winning any form of title after 1997.
Colin was a good driver, but stop trying to make it look like he was THE best, because he wasn't.
@@__-po7bm Lancia did a lot of tricks to win that title. There is a video on youtube
not just talking, but actually thinking and answering questions... pretty amazing
This was set years ago. It was a upsetting time when Richard Burns died, there never was a driver like him, or there never will be either. He was unique, fast and english!!
Driving like that and chatting away like nothing is going on, amazing! RIP Richard Burns
2:03 - THAT FACE!
Rip Richard burns one of the greats
Gone but not forgotten, still a legend. Rest in peace Richard
i love how relaxed he is while driving. i would love to get in a rally car and take it for a spin.
We miss you richard! ❤️
If this is old top gear we've took a massive leap backwards because this is 10 times what the grand tour or top gear is now
Back in the days before Clarkson became too big for his boots.
Richard Burns, world rally champion, who finished second consistently to win the title. Died of a brain tumour within about a year of this broadcast. Long-remembered.
Richard Burns died on November 25, 2005, the same day as George Best. This episode of Motorworld was broadcast in December 1996, so Richard sadly had less than a decade after this was broadcast.
R.I.P. little bug...
That's the Evo 3 right there ^_^
I dont think richard was in the Mitsubishi Ralliart team before the evo V or IV
The sad thing was Richard Burns is now dead and Jermery knew him personally and was shocked at his death nearly on the verge of tears
RIP brother, what a true gent!
Still got his well written book, Subaru model scale with his signature, RBR game for old Xbox and many good old memories watching him on Eurosport many years ago.
Massive respect to Richard Burns!
Only the good die young
LOL 2:07 "My bollocks have come off" The grin on Burns' face is priceless.
Burnsie and McRae. My all time heroes. Rest in Peace lads
Impresionante, que gran piloto.
I hope its a big shed
15 years and still the best English rally driver the WRCs ever seen
i liked the little fly that exploded at 1:03
i LOVE driving rally. nothing like doing 60-70mph through a woods like that! amazing.
Just having a casual chat while going flat out 😆
Richard Burns is just incredible, you cant go this fast on dirt, very sad story thou, RIP.
Jeremy's face @ 2:03 was hilarious.
Thanks for uploading this - respect to Richard Burns (RIP)
Thats amazing. How can you drive that fast on that surface with one hand and talking to someone....?
I:06. Best shot in the entire episode. I love TOP GEARRRRRRRRR!!!
R.I.P. mr.burns :(
i miss him ..
but he's still my fav rally driver
So Calm , rip , miss R. B. 👏👍
Deja vu, I've just been in this place before
Higher on the street, and I know it's my time to go
Burns was crazy! One hand driving a rally car... Truly a legend...
what i meant was that this one has also clutch not only gas and brake to use while he drives which makes the cars a little more difficult to drive, not like the ones now with the pads behind the steering wheel
RIP RIchard. Miss you and Colin big style. WRC is boring without you two going head to head.
Legend!
Jeremy Clarkson the Denim KING
R.I.P Burnsy
absolutely great vid
Rally drivers are motorsport's he men, any weather, any conditions, on often terrifying terrain, well terrifying for mere mortals.
Sad that our best ever rally drivers (McRae and Burns) are no loner with us.
I would love to have that year Evo!!!
oo
yahhh
specially the Gruoup B ones :D
cool! i was born in bandbury! i havent been there for over 13 years though... lol
Dont forget, also doing half of it either sideways or airborne as well!
yes
I tottaly forgot about that one. and the lancia delta integrale that i watched the video recently (fifth gear)
holy shit that would be soo much fun
To all those who think this is from the '80s, look at the number plate it's an N registration. This car would have been at most a year or two old.N reg is 1995.Only the MRE part would be for Mitsubishi Rayon Engineering .
Rest in Peace, Mr. Burns.
That is me on the fireblade destroying my rear tyre!
Can't believe this is on You Tube!
yeah
What's the name of the song in the end part? I heard it like 10 years ago and couldn't find it anywhere...
That’s how I judge a driver@1:15... by how well he can carry on chit chat while blasting down a rally trail at max chat :)
RIP Richard, you are a super star.
i love my country!
RIP. Richard, you were the only rally driver in the world
R.I.P Ritchie boy :( We miss you!!!
rallying is awesome
"we're going to crash!"
"i hope not."
Rest in peace Richards....we will not forget you!!!
Clarkson is the best!
R.I.P. Richard Burns, you are sorely missed.
I would kill to see a race today between Burns and Leob...

Epic barnet
1:07 is like a bullet XD
I don't follow the wrc after Burns and Mcrae gone.. They are truly my hero when I was young.. I hope these guys still driving fast in their rally cars in heaven
Well they were popular as well in Poland and many years ago until today all rally fans there remember those drivers very well.
@redtail5
jet engine and jet arent exactly the same thing (no idea about it being english or german) just clarifying what he said
OH yeah, airborne is an awesome feeling. granted, landings can be a bit rough.
They used the right song.
We miss you richard!
Richard Burn driving the Evo 3? I thought it was Tommi Makkinen that was behind the wheel...
we miss you richard and colin rip.
2:03 dat face
there are many other good rally cars from europe. Citroen saxo, c4; peugeot 206;audi quattro (everyone knows that one);lancia stratos I can't remember of any more right now
haha! i know... my mistake, i was commenting even b4 i was waiting for the vid to load fully :D
@Marlborough1970
John Logie Baird - Scotsman - made the first televised moving images, seperate parts of that do not constitute a television. So we can say it
rallying was great in the 80s, cars went crazy (drifts). R.I.P RICHARD.
this show was from 1995 to 1996. so in one of those years
clarkson's hair LOL
@loocow1554 Oh, I almost forgot, Frank Whittles patent: 1930. Von Ohain's: 1936 That may be your idea of approximately the same time but not mine.
how come the evo was left heand steering?
Is this where Clarkson and Burns met and became friends?
ever watch the WRC? all cars that compete at the high level are all LHD.
cool vid rip richard burns
R.I.P Richard....
популярный сюжет из шоу Top Gear. Джереми Кларксон стал пассажиром чемпиона мира по ралли Ричарда Бернса.
RIP
I couldn't tell if he was on the UK or actually in some far away place on the midle of nowehere right on Texas...😅🤣🤣🤣🤘🤘🤘🙌👌
how can u not like rallying
why is the steering on the right (as in correct) side if it's british?
Frank Whittle developed the turbojet engine as we know it today, Alexander Graham Bell was Scottish.
Why are some people so against the truth that the UK has made a disproportionately huge contribution to modern society, technology, science and the arts?
R.I.P richard
One of the best memories I have of Richard Burns was when a reporter was trying to do a story. Richard and Colin had both crashed and were out. But instead of feeling sorry for themselves they had both decided to go to the pub which happened to be next to the reporter. She turns to Richard to try and get a few words and out of no where Colin jumps in and they all have a giggle. A big drunken mess but all in good taste. Miss both of them guys. I've not followed the WRC for sometime now. Just lost the love for it :(
Its WRC has gotten all serious and not in a good way.
thats such a great story
