Here's the test...(I did it) Put Amsoil in the palm of your hand. Try and wash it off with your fav degreaser. Tell me how many hand washes it takes to get off. That should tell you a dummy test what it will do for your rods and pistons. They will continuously be coated and protected! Then again 90% of harley riders barely hit the throttle 😅. Whats the moto? In it for the scenery? But yes. As far as coating internals, Amsoil is max protection.
lol I have been attending motorcycle rallies since the early 80's. Many of them and you are so right Adam. You can see anything at a rally. Some my eyes did not need to see. lol Some of the things were printed in my brain and should not be there. But then, there are a lot of stuff my brain retained that I enjoy.
You Sir are exactly right. The cooler the motor the longer it last. Thanks for the great video of Myrtle Beach this week. I was not able to make it this time but maybe i will make the Fall rally.. Thanks again you and your Wife are Awesome...
I was gonna try to make it to Laconia this year, but my job is messing w/my shift times & dept work. Got me jumping from 3rd to 1st & back to 3rd, even messing w/vac times. We'll see. Take care though, love the videos.
Amsoil is a great product. It’s so good some people don’t believe me when I tell them all the great things about it. I’ve been using it for years. I run it in everything I own. My cars , motorcycles and even my lawn mowers. I became a preferred customer just over a year ago. I have a question about the Love Jugs. Do the fans pull the hot air away from the engine or does it blow air to the engine? Just curious. Keep up the great videos.
You are absolutely correct, when something is that good you will always find the skeptics. They push fresh air at the engine. Just like if you were hot you sit in front of the fan, not behind it.
Grate video on what services you do, I just couldn't get there. Retail in my little business, just wouldn't let me get there to my bike down. Retail man nmd. Thanks
Did you ever figure to the Goliath belt issue? My brother worked on these Generals and Brigadiers back in the 80's and 90's. He said it is likely you will have to go back and retrofit a standard pulley system. This will take some improvising, but what else to do?
It’s crazy what is being promised performance by oil producers for synthetic oil. I remember Mobil 1 being advertised back in 1975 as a lifetime engine oil. In other words, never had to be changed. Just change the filter and make up the difference at OEM recommended change intervals. Now Pennzoil is advertising a 500,000 mile warranty on engines less than 72 months old and less than 120Kmiles if you keep using their synthetic oil. So, question….what is the life expectancy/ integrity of Amsoil synthetic oil? And the larger question…what is the difference between the useful life of oil and the OEM recommendation for oil change frequency. I notice that OEM’s don’t differentiate between mineral / synthetic blend or full synthetic. Interesting that OEMs don’t recognize oil performance differences.
Good day Mike, the true life expectancy of an oil can vary on many different factors. Amsoil has many different formulas for different applications. In each formula may have a different additive package which can change its usable life. Amsoil makes an 0E line where they recommend using the manufactures recommended drain intervals. And then next, they would have the XL line, you can safely double the oil change intervals of the manufacture. And then the top of the line would be the signature series, it is good for 25,000 miles or one year, this is all assuming that you’re using an oil filter that is also capable of those extended drain intervals, which not all filters are. Amazon produces filters with a 15,000 mile interval and a 25,000 mile interval. And then we have the bypass systems they can super clean the oil. No understand this is just the safe blanket statement without using any testing procedures. Using oil analysis, you can go much further on a highly engineered quality motor oil. But the key is in the testing and not just ignoring it in assuming that it is good. we have over the road trucks in our fleets that have hundreds of thousands of miles of use on the oil. However a sample is taken every 40,000 miles and tested. And filters are changed at specific intervals as well. So there’s always a little bit of new oil added to top off here and there. the petroleum-based oils would degrade over time because of their organic base stock. True Synthetics do not degrade the same. I say true synthetics, because there are many synthetic blend’s and full synthetic’s on the market that are not truly synthetic oils like Amsoil. 100% synthetic
Adam, do Love Jugs work as well on Indian as they do Harley? Noticed they are mounted on the opposite side of the engine. Any difference being on the opposite side of spark plugs?
I get the power of seeing a Harley run all day long and doing it smoothly. All that said, being close to that bike running all day long would drive me nuts.
Understandable, but it actually gets swallowed by the bike traffic & all the other noise surrounding a bike rally event. You get distracted doing other things, & eventually get used to it.
