- Epic set 5 in a best of 5 match against the NHS Boys Varsity Volleyball Team which was effectively a "Senior Night" for the 2017-2020 Nordhoff Girls Varsity Volleyball team.
After two undefeated league seasons, two CIF finals appearances and a State finals appearance over the last two seasons, the much-anticipated senior season for the core of the Lady Rangers was canceled due to COVID-19.
This match was arranged for the Lady Rangers - most of whom hadn't played or practiced competitively in over a year - to play the playoff-bound Boys' Varsity team. Net height was set so it was between the boys and girls height.
The boys' coach was the up-referee, the girls' coaches were line judges and down-referee.

Their footwork and style of handling the ball tells you that their sport is something else.
The girls are amazing though.
What did you expect? That they put a men volleyball team against women? The game would have lasted 5 minutes and the women would have scored 0 points.
No....these girls....are lacking. They seem to lack stamina...

Lot ofpeople disrespecting the boys. Both teams played well, i bet they both did well in their own leagues. That said pretty blatant bias by whichever teams coach is Ref. Lot of imagine "touches" and "lifts" but only against the boys team.
I think that's the boys coach lmao.

Not disrespecting these boys. Just saying they play like beginners, not varsity level. My team sucked, while the girls' team made it to finals. When we played them in a scrimmage, we smashed them by a mile.

@@walkergp4640 Ngl, more than half of those points were pure luck. They couldn't even receive properly, let alone get proper points in.
That's not the boys' volleyball team because if it were the women would not stand a chance against them
True that. At the same, you can really tell the boys are playing more softly and gentle towards the girls. Just imagine if the boys were the actual in boys volleyball team, the girls wouldn’t stand the chance for sure.

Not volleyball boys. They are actually basketball based on their footwork. You can even see at the start that the boy serving is dribbling the ball like a basketball
Actually I think he's dong "keep-y-ups"(juggling?) like a football ball. So probably a soccer team? Of course, lots of kids are good on more than 1 sport
@@JuanMHorta0603he also did a between the legs dribble, and you can tell they play basketball by looking at their footwork. Soccer boys don't move like that, they lean and keep in constant movement.
I watched the 5 sets and the best part is:
The boys won the sets 1 and 2 (boys 2x0 girls),
but the girls played much better and won the sets 3, 4 and 5 and won the match (boys 2x3 girls)

This was a good game tbh. If the boys team was at the same level as the girls team the boys team would have won but shoutouts to the girls
Read the description. The boys and girls team were actually nearly on the same level. In fact, the girls team didn’t even play for a full year and played against the boys team. Volleyball is actually one of the very few sports where girls actually outclass boys
@@user-el6eh3er8c that’s really Cool. However girls in no way outclass boys in volleyball. Boys are taller, jump higher, and in many cases more athletic in general. I have been playing volleyball for many years and I will be playing in college. If a good d3 men’s team played a D1 women woman’s team, the woman’s team would most likely love very badly. There is no bias in this I’m just saying how it is.
The description said both teams took the game very seriously. I wonder if there was any trash talk between the boys and girls either before or after the game. It seemed bragging rights were on the line. I'd like to see the girls rub it in a little after humbling the boys.

At minute 15:52 you can see why the girls are simply better - they play much smarter than the boys 😉

The boys were good, the girls were better. The girls showed them who owns that court.
@@Conestox I'm going by what they said in the description. The girls program is elite. The boys team was described as headed to the playoffs. I would assume that means somewhere between good and very good. That sounds like the two teams were fairly evenly matched. And that's how it played out.
The girls team fully outmatched the boys, would think the boys had an upper hand on the physical part... Somehow I was wrong
