Thanks for your videos - very helpful. Just bought a P Line electric and 1st gear was driving me mad - killing me on all my local steep hills that I can glide up on my Swytch Brompton 6 speed. Bought a suitable SunRace cassette on Amazon and, like you, substituted 1st and 2nd gears with 21 and 17 tooth sprockets. Great result - thanks again!
Three weeks ago I purchased a P Line with a 5 speed conversion from Brilliant Bikes. Initially, I had difficulty changing down to the 21 T bottom gear( it wouldn't click firmly on the bottom gear and kept slipping back to 2nd ) but after carefully adjusting the small screw that prevents the chain slipping off the lowest gear and chewing up the spokes, I now have 5 usable gears and tackling the mini mountains in my part of the world is not a problem anymore. The difference between my B75 and the new P Line is amazing. The 3 speed B75 feels old fashioned, sluggish and heavy to carry in comparison with my new sporty 5 speed. I think the dérailleur setup gives the P Line a lightweight, lively, and easy-to-pedal feel that the A line bargain basement workhorse lacks. My opinion is that the 12 speed C line bikes are not the future for foldable bikes; too many unnecessary gears linked to an energy sapping Sturmey- Archer hub makes these models obsolete already.
@@trolleyob I think your 5 speed conversion is a brilliant idea, do you still have your B75? If so strip it back and fit mid-rise bars, just for a fun dry day knock about!
It's the stock gearing that's delayed me committing to buying a P-Line, I live in North Wales, my current 6 speed Brompton is great, but would love to modernise to the P-line. I'm thinking what you have achieved with your's could be ideal for me. Thanks very much for sharing your knowledge.
I just received my cogs and will install them after I purchase the tools necessary to remove them, ie chain whip and free wheel socket. I decided to keep the 50T OEM chainring on my T-Line and change the rear cogs to 11-14-17-21. The length of my chain currently is 50 main links plus the master link making a total of 51 links. Wish me luck. I hope it changes gears as smooth as yours does.
Not lucky enough to have a P _line as yet lotteries fault or mine for buying the tickets , but at least got this video one if I get one and two if I change the gearing, so keep the videos coming please , it’s like having my own personal in-house mechanic, thanks again , one of your many greatest fans, take care.
Have used 22t on the rear 46 crank. Changed the derailleur to a 8t. Now have 48t crank 21t cassette 9t derailleur. Have not shortened chain or lengthened it. Think if you change derailleur wheel it solves problem. Did try 23t but it touched derailleur slightly.

Thank you for sharing this Andrew. Using parts of an 8 gear cassette as I think you said you have, what are your highest and lowest gear inches?
I don't do gear inches, the last bit of hill near home I just count crank rotations, anything over 23 is good!
