There is no better feeling in the world than walking onto and around a military installation. You go from the civilian world shit show to a place that is well maintained and people are respectful and polite. It takes a huge weight off my shoulders when I go on base.
Morgan Kimbarow 323rd out of Ft. Meade, it’ll be luck of the draw. That was my first time there, others that went before me didn’t have those barracks. Hopefully YOU guys get them also.
I spent two weeks at Ft Dix in November 1962 in an overseas shipping company. I was on the way to an 18 month tour of duty in Ankara Turkey. Ft Dix was a good place to pass through. Just kidding. The only thing I did not like about Dix was having to pull several days of guard duty in about two foot of snow, but other than that it was OK.

Your billeting was a lot nicer than when I had to spend two weeks at Ft. Dix. I had 7 other roommates.
Yea I knew right away we were extremely lucky when we got those rooms. 8 guys to a room, wow!
My stay at Ft. Did only lasted 3 days my Army Days we're over for good. Hoo Ray!
So you were actually at Maguire instead of Dix? My BCT barracks were right across from the end of the flight line.
I went to fort Dix in 1988 for basic training, fort dix was the Army’s version of Paris island , and it was not a good time 👍
Hey, what unit are you with?
I’m about to do AT, are all reserve soldiers getting those barracks?
