The Magam Opus "Shaan" - a mega blockbuster multi starrer of the early 80's. It was a great movie but was up against the mega successful 'Sholay' - both movies made by the Sippy's, who wanted it to be an even bigger hit than Sholay. Unfortunately, the audience did not appreciate it as much and it became a semi-sucessful movie, nothing more.
But the music was top notch and we see a brilliant composition and music here.
Brings back memories of those times - 70 mm 'Eastman colour' , big single screen theatres and stereophonic sound. The best of the best in those days. Pure nostalgia.

This movie has to be one of the biggest unsolved mystery of Bollywood. Super hit duo of Salim javed wrote this movie for highly acclaimed director of the era, who had just delivered baap of all blockbuster movies few years ago. There was no one bigger than Big B at that juncture and producer ensured that it was the costliest movie ever made, up till that point in bollywood. Music was top notch by RD burman and villain was as iconic as Gabbar singh...And yet Shaan was a major disaster.
