Just wanted to say thank you for utilizing the term "owner's suite" instead of "master bath/bed", as "master" dates back to slave owner times and is outdated. Really appreciate it!!
Hi Megan! My husband and I bought our first house last year and it was also a whirlwind for us searching for houses! Everything was sold as soon as it was listed, so we made the jump to buy new construction and purchased a super cute starter house of 1,400 square fet, 3 bedroom/2 bath right across the street from a park! We love it and it'll be perfect for when little ones make their grand appearances. I hope you guys find your dream home soon ♥ Love from California.
Yes - love house vlogs so much!!! I kinda fell in love with that first house you showed. I absolutely LOVE old character, simply because you just can't find the same in newer homes these days. Also, it’s really fun to dig into the history of the home (find out who used to live there, etc), which newer homes just don’t offer. Back in the day, i truly believe houses were built better and stronger, which is why they’re still standing today. They have good bones (most of the time) and there’s nothing that compares to a remodeled old home that still holds all of its original charm and details. Its so beautiful and unique, not like the stereotypical cookie cutter home. I think some updates can take away the original character of the home, which always hurts a little to see.
Don't get discouraged! These houses, for whatever reason, were not meant to be. You'll find the perfect one, just be patient. ( I know that's really hard to do). Lolll
Gotta love how I totally cried watching this for you guys. Such a great experience watching you go from getting married to having children and now trying to buy a house! I love this in the form you’ve started it in! I hope you guys stay positive in knowing the perfect house will come. It’s my biggest goal to buy a condo/house by myself so def love watching this as well as all of your videos!
Good luck. Buying a house is stressful but in the end it's all worth. We bought our house two years ago also in a very competitive market. Don't get discouraged. My husband wanted to give up and then a day later we found the house we ended up with.
I could watch house hunting videos like this all day! Hope you make more! I'm very excited for you guys try not to get too discouraged, like you said, God has the perfect house for you that will be more than worth the wait. ❤
Ah house buying, so exciting but it can definitely be stressful! Sending you all the positive house hunting wishes! I’m sure the perfect house will make itself known very soon.
I loved this kind of video style - please make more (but not too many more because that would mean you got an offer accepted :) ) The housing market in Maine is crazy too. It seems like everyone is moving out of the big cities to more rural places now that remote work is a possibility for more people. I am so shocked that homes are going for 50-100k over asking price?! That is nuts! Praying you can get into your dream home very soon!!
We viewed our house and bought it the same day. We were the first to see it and there were already 4 offers! The market is insane I think people put in offers without even seeing it. Luckily we got it! Good luck to you guys!
my European ass when you said it was a very old house and then you said 1906 xD I'm really excited for your journey with moving into your own house and I can't wait to see you make your house your own, because you have such a beautiful style. I'm so happy for your little family that you are going to get a house soon. If the housing market is anything similar to here, it will likely take a couple of offers but I'm 100% sure that you will find your perfect house and make it into your dream house
It really amazes me that seattle area has such a hot market all the time. Im currently saving for a house right now. Im hoping by the time we are ready, it won't cost us an arm and leg. Its amazing how much houses are selling for, if you want to live in a certain area. Positive thoughts and prayers for you! 🙏
Ahh, I’m so sorry that house you out an offer on did not work out, Megan 😖 I could tell you both loved it, but I know the perfect house will come along for you guys 🤗 Wishing you so much luck as you continue looking for a house ❤️ And I really enjoy these videos because my husband, son and I will be looking for houses in the next year or two, so thank you for filming them!
Stay encouraged !! Whats gonna be for u guys will be for u guys!!! the right door will open in Gods perfect timing & It will be above & beyond what u could ask, think & even imagined🤎🤍🤎!!!
I didn’t see the tapioca balls or your recipe for your bubble tea anywhere. Can you please share it? I LOVE bubble tea!!!! Thanks! Love you blogs! Well done! 😉
Any advice? We keep putting in these insane offers way over asking with escalation addendums and contingencies waived and the increased down payment in case of low appraisal and aren’t having any luck 😭
@@MeganAcuna I'd say just do what you can and don't overextend yourself. It took us 4 months to find a place (while I was in my first and second trimesters). We did a lot of visiting early when people were at work and tried to put in quick offers that same day. We had to do some credit fixing along the way and had a lender that really fought for us. We tried lowering our budget so we could go in higher at the inflated market rate but that never worked. We had so many rejected offers before we got one accepted. We put that one in ASAP with a quick close and the sellers were super motivated. My biggest advice in these types of markets is patience and going in early with your best offer.
We are going through the same quandary with low inventory and a sellers market here in SoCal. Trying to get into a 55+ community to be closer to grandkids. It’s insane. Plus, everyone beats us out with all cash offers.
You’ll get something! I know the feeling though. I live in Vancouver and the market here is absolutely insane. The average price per square foot is around $990-$1500 depending on the area! We’re trying to save up for a down payment but we’re definitely priced out of the city and having to look into the neighbouring ones like Langley. Which is alright but will certainly be a commute if we go back to working in the office.
@@christinemartin7819 Congrats! 2-bedroom + den is awesome. We're looking at Langley, and hoping to get something in the next couple of years... it's so sad that a detached home is so expensive these days :(
We've been house hunting virtually because we're moving to a new state in a couple months and after putting in 4 offers we finally got one accepted. Hang in there. You'll find something super perfect! ETA: we got taco bell to "celebrate" 😂
Careful with showing the outside of these houses. Especially wouldn't be showing the outside of the house you buy. If your channel blows up you need to make sure your safe.
So you guys dont want to do any work at all? Painting a wall isnt a massive project xd all the houses were so grey and dull. Like nobody even lived there
Like we mentioned we would be planning on fixing up anything we moved into! Pretty much planning on paint and flooring at least. Probably painting kitchen cabinets and changing countertops as well. Nobody did live in any of those houses haha, they were all either empty or staged lol
Just wanted to say thank you for utilizing the term "owner's suite" instead of "master bath/bed", as "master" dates back to slave owner times and is outdated. Really appreciate it!!
Of course! It’s something I’m consciously unlearning and trying really hard not to slip up with so I so appreciate you noticing!
Oh wow I literally didn’t know that, but that makes so much sense!!! I will definitely remember this!
Primary suite also works :)

Good luck! Buying a house is such a process but you’ll get there! It’s too bad about the water damage in that early 1900’s house, it was so cute!
I was so bummed! It was adorable!

You should wait till the market cools off and get more house for the money
Love the house hunting vlogs!
Yay! So excited for you guys. My husband and I are starting house hunting this Saturday!
Ah I’m so excited for you too! Good luck; it’s crazy out there!

Man I’m just sucker for early 1900s homes. My family home was built in 1913.
Lucky lucky!!! Thank you so much! 💛
My husband and I went through a similar market in Denver over the summer. You'll get something eventually! Good luck!

Aw thank you!
As someone who is on the verge of house hunting on the front range of Colorado I already feel your pain.
I have to say I did like that house! Hope you find something you love! You’re little man is adorable!

I’m a realtor in Pennsylvania the market is upside down right now. Housing inventory is down 60% stay strong and keep your head up.

I just bought a place in Langley. It's a two-bedroom and a den. Wish we could afford a stand-alone house like in this video. One day!

I start a Pinterest board for every home we’ve put an offer in. Here’s to hoping one of them actually sticks 🍀
Nice 😊👍🏼
Watching this 2 yrs later as im looking for a house with my GF. Did you guys end up buying?
We did end up buying a different house in April!
