- Today I drive the Mack Superliner for the first time and I am very,very impressed by it. Not only does this truck look great,it drives and sounds impressive as well. I would put this truck on the same level as the 389 and VNL with the quality work that has gone into it.
My Peterbilt 389 specs:
Cummins N14 600
Eaton 13 speed trans with 3.36 gears.

Nothing beats an old 1987 Mack Super liner. Such a amazing truck beautiful in every way with a truckload of grunt. Cant buy the sound of that thumping Mack v8 she sings a sweet tune
sweeeeet classic video...the sound...the look...even the delay when U turn the steering...best classic vid I've seen so far...BTW...don't know if you notices it but when U stop and move again in the cab cam shot U can actually see the hood rising up and down if U look really good as U work up through the gears... the rims the stacks..... fantastic vid 👍👍👍👍👍👍👌👌👌👌
Yeah,I thought I noticed the body movement which is a great touch. And the steering delay,yeah that was me screwing up lol
Love it!!!! My neighbor use to run for Montgomery Tank Lines back in 1993-94. He drove a Mack Superliner with a 48' Bunk. Love the sound and enjoy your work
Never had a chance to drive a mack, but when I worked for penn yan express we had the mack's sister truck the brockway. the single axle tractors did the city P&D and the tandem road horses pulled the 40ft doubles on the NYS thruway.

That engine is the e9 mack. It was 998 cubic inches and all models were turbocharged
Hey Casketman, the Superliner is 85 or newer because the square headlights weren't introduced until 1985 on the Mack Magnums. The Mack Magnums also introduced the 500 hp E9 Maxidyne V8 engine. The Magnums were the came only in black with red, yellow, and orange stripes down the sides of the hood to the sleeper. Only 250 were built, 164 of them being Superliner IOS and the rest were Ultraliner cabovers. The E9 V8s were always turboed helping gain more power. The Superliner with the V8 Mack engine is my dream truck. Always loved the sound of the big bore V8s, weither it be Cummins, Cat, Detroit, or Mack.
So this is technically a Superliner II ?
+Casketman20 Could be. I don't know if they dropped the Superliner moniker and completely went Superliner II. That is one thing i will say i do not know.
+Casketman20 I just researched that the square headlights make it a Superliner II with more options available than the original Superliner.
I was just on that route yesterday, that road is brutal for a W900 with a studio sleeper and a 53' trailer

The E9 Mack was most definitely supercharged. It, along with the Cummins KTA 600, Cat 3408, and Detroit 12v71 were the bad asses of their day, and still are today, quite frankly.

The interior is not a bad rendition, the steering wheel in a real Superdog is usually black, I've never seen any other color.
love these old superliners, the township where I live has one of these and an old r model set up as plow/dump trucks

That one is a great mod! Love that horn. The interior could stand a little more detailed textures. Like the steering wheel and dash just don't quite look right.
the E9 v8's all came with turbo even the ENDT v8 has turbo too

Mack E9 V8s have turbos, it's a single turbo mounted right onto the top of the bell housing

I think the hopper bottom or a step deck with a tractor on it would of looked good because a lot of these old macks now a days are farm trucks here Wisconsin

you should do a viedo of a peterbilt with one of those big cabs almost looks like an rv and do a heavy load that would be a good viedo to see

God that thing is pretty. Just looking at the hood from the outside tells me visibility would be rough inside. Biggest rig I've driven is W900 and that thing was hard to see clearances with.
Yeah Ive driven a W900 before,I didn't like the hood. The 389 isn't great for that either but I prefer the 389 lol

I hate auto correct. I meant Superliner IIs and that the Magnums were only available in black with the red, yellow, and, orange stripes down the side of the bonnet towards the sleeper then they angled towards the top and back again. They also said Magnum on the bonnet instead of Superliner if I remember correctly.
I think they were turbos already. Pretty cool truck..but i think sometimes 4 cilinders stop. Cz only one exaust spit smoke from tine to time
That's a superliner 2, square headlights gives it away, the V8 Macks are turbo charged, came in 400, 440, 500, 525, 575, 610 HP, rev range was 1000-2000, they'd pull down to 1000 easy enough, the 3200 tach must be for the detroits that go to 2800, dash is correct the steering wheel had the word mack in the centre of it,
But the wheel is the same color and texture as the dash? Just looked odd.
This engine was a Mack 450hp. The cummins that I could use sounded just like the N14 in my 389 so I didnt feel that was right.
+Casketman20 yes same colour in the old superliners, could get them with black wheels too but the creamy beige colour certainly was an option

Good ol' Superdog! Where did you find thats container chassis looks like a Cheetah? Seen lots of 48' & 53ft chassis first 20' I've seen looks really sharp!

Great video, but how do you use the smoke mod and not get the red tires on other trucks? I would like to do the same.

+Drew Heyman the smoke was part of the truck. There's a option bubble near the top of the stacks if I remember right. As for the red tires,I believe you have a mod conflict or one is out of date for this version. Only way to fix it is to find and remove the mod that isn't playing well with the others.
it kind of looks like they have taken the older dash with the newer dash and made that dash

what did you mean by saying the engine is bogging out
1600rpm isn't normally ideal. With no turbo(I think this one doesn't have it),a higher rpm would be ideal. It just sounded to low.

Hey, I have a problem with this awesome mod. I can't attach trailers, do you know how to fix it ?
No,not all trailers will work with all trucks. There are still some I have issues with (truck and trailer) and I honestly don't know if its the truck or the trailer that causes the issue. On some,I've noticed that if I ram under the trailer,I can sometimes still hook. But others sometimes just act like a brick wall.
But it's annoying to take a job only to have to cancel it because you cant get hooked to the trailer.

My guess is it's the truck which is causing this, as it seems to high for the trailer's hook, and it just past through.
I have only managed to atach 1 trailer with the Mack:/
Let's hope it will be soon fixed, it's for me the best mod truck and one of the most complete !

I had noticed that I was having the exactly same problem with other moded truck, but not with all.
So i went to the option and I found there was an option for realistic trailer fixing. i have disabled it, and now, everything works properly ! :)

Road Art Team make the best mods out of everyone, too bad they charge money for them and ban people who upload the mods for everyone else to download.

Chances are the truck or other mods are not 1.6 ready. I would remove the truck and try again,if you still crash,remove all trailer mods. Or just skip all of that,deactivate ALL mods and then add one at a time testing what works and what does not.

Red in your mods list? If that is the case,just remove it from your priority list and add it again.
It could also mean that it is not compatible with the current version of ATS. There is a new 1.3 version for real company and trailers on mod sites.
